  1. I'm pretty sure PT just gets the watch you want and cannot undertake mods prior to delivery. This should see you right with regards to the tube and crown. If you search for waterproofing there are plenty of good posts that show you what you can do to improve things. Rolexman has done a good one using Narikka's Planet Ocean. You gotta get it pressure tested after though, just to give yourself peace of mind. Good Luck Arniezac
  2. I went to get my paper this morning and fancied some helicopter flavour crisps... ....They'd only got plane!
  3. That is one sweet looking timepiece. Fantastic looking pics too
  4. I bought my UPO on a rubber strap with Gen ETA from Precious time and it was superb, just use the contact link on his website and tell him exactly what your after. He'll then give you a price, simple. I paid just over
  5. Trying a nato now from Watchworx.co.uk .Nice and cheap! This is my 100th post...awaiting message from Her Majesty
  6. That takes me back to the day of my arrest Can't agree with you more Stormtrooper4, they are stunning. Its took a while for me, but speedy's are really beginning to grow on me.
  7. I've made some enquires and can get a complete UPO bezel assembly. Here's the rub, I can only get one if I order a new, complete case, crystal and caseback. It all comes as one. Triplehd, I've pm'd you regarding your offer, just awaiting a reply mate. Does anybody have a complete UPO bezel lying around . I know its rare, and harder to swap a UPO bezel to gen, but I know some of us have done it. I just need to make sure I can't get one from the community ,before I bite the bullet and order a complete case-set. Cheers everyone.
  8. A UPO comes with a Swiss or Asian ETA movement. Therefore it is more expensive, The Lite is cheaper as it uses a much cheaper Asian movement
  9. Since I've had one of these beauties on order for over a week now, I've been staring at pictures of reps and gens to quell my impatience. I've spotted a couple of things that the makers could do with changing ( They sorted the second hand out pretty quick). The font on the bezel is wrong, it shows up especially when you compare the numbers 2's. The hour and gmt hand overlap the 24hr indicies slightly. On the gen they fall quite short of overlapping. So, either the hands are a bit too long or the diameter of the 24hour printing is too small, don't know which. None of this puts me off the watch at all, its still a fantanstic peice but we do like to spot the tells ,don't we.
  10. I already have one on order since last week and have promised myself not to mess. Who am I kidding, I've been taking things apart since I was a kid and I can't see myself changing. Usually, they do go back together though , and most of the time there are no parts left over, and occasionally they even still work I will get the 'ol UPO sorted eventually, its too good to leave in a draw gathering dust.
  11. This could be the plot to some sort of rep-based disaster movie..........read on and try not to laugh, tut or shake your head in disbelief. I wanted to remove the bezel so I could polish out some scratches aswell as tighten up the ratchet spring a bit. Inserting a knife between bezel and case I began to ease them apart, it got to the stage where it did not want to move any further so I thought I would leave it and push it back on. It would not go back on, so, perhaps it was best to remove it after all. I eventually got the bezel to part from the case, but as it released, the crystal fell out too I polished up the bezel and adjusted the ratchet spring and thought I'd decase the movement as I needed to refit the crystal. After I had put the crystal back, I went to put the bezel on. It had took so much force to remove it, I had actually bent the bezel out of shape. Plus ,the inner spring was also mishapen. Oh bother,I said to myself. After a bit of persuasion I managed to flatten out the bezel and spring to what seemed acceptable and tried to put them on the case. No way. Just not flat enough, I've ruinned them. So, as I put the movement back in , one of the bars holding the dial to the movement broke and the movement swung out pulling off the hands. I put the hands back on and finally recased the movement, set the time ,pushed the stem in and now the watch won't work, nothing ,nada. I've posted an 'I want to buy' for a bezel. As for the movement , I don't know yet. Its a gen ETA so its worth saving I guess but its something I can't do. Just not in the mood to do anything right now . I've had the Midas Touch touch today except everything I touch turns out s**t
  12. On mine the case diameter including crown measure 43.5mm. Doc, or anyone else for that matter, if you need any other dimensions just ask, its no trouble.
  13. Trying out a new strap. Have a good weekend everyone
  14. The hands on the sub-dials on mine do the following :- Dial @ 9 is a minute counter for the stopwatch which sweeps round as the stopwatch is running in the same way as the main minute hand sweeps round the dial. 1 hour per revolution Dial @ 6 is a running second hand which ticks 1 revolution per minute. Dial @ 3 is a running hour counter for the main time. 1 revolution every 24 hours. These are the functions of the hands, not what is printed on the dial. Hope this helps. Have a good weekend all Arniezac.
  15. Thats a beauty, that is. A class act. Does the gen bezel insert come with a pearl and were there any issues with fitting it to the UPO bezel. The pearl on my UPO is horrible, completely different colour to the hour markers and stands out a mile. I would n't mind a gen insert for mine, how much are they and where did you get it from, if you don't mind my cheek. Cheers Arniezac
  16. I'd be up for a $60 ticket price. Gives more people a chance to win a bit of history.
  17. Mine arrived today and I can confirm that the engraving is quite shallow, its crisp but no more than a few thou deep. However, this watch represents excellent value. For what I paid, its really very good. The end links are a bit rough underneath but who's gonna see it. The strap is not stiff at all and its well polished. Again, its an absolute bargain with the $20 discount that Watcheden are offering at the moment. Even if its only used to pratice decasing or removing hands its worth it. Congrats to the OP for discovering this little gem
  18. A new arrival today Watcheden's cheap and extremely chearful Speedmaster
  19. If memory serves, when I had mine there were some red arrows on the wrapping around the strap. Unfortunatley I threw the wrapping away before I sized the bracelet. I do remember that the pins were very stiff and a removal tool was purchased for a few
  20. I absolutley love the design of this watch, just ordered mine from PT (assured its got the correct second hand too, fingers crossed) Great job on the lume and second hand. How is the lume it comes with, any good?
  21. Still not getting tired of the ol' UPO
  22. Thanks Trailboss, I have n't decided if i'm brave enough yet. I think there is probably only one battery as both the digital and hands have stopped. What's the difference between SRxxxW and SRxxxSW? Arniezac
  23. The battery on my Aerospace has just given up on me and I was wondering if anyone has replaced it themselves or is this strictly for the professionals. I'll tinker on my reps no trouble but as this is my only decent Gen and at the moment in immaculate condition, I want to be sure before I try. What do all you fine people think ?
  24. Thats the one, I knew someone would be able to find it.......... ........Oh, hang on. Its you, I mean, not you but you did it.........er .............oh............this is a bit embarassing........um. Ooooh look over there, theres a badger with a gun...........have they gone yet...... ....Yeah , they've gone. I think I got away with that one. Pheeeeuuuuww that was close.
  25. There's a search box top right which finds things Follow these instructions to the letter and you can't go wrong I seem to remember another member who did a 'How to' using a POrikka but I can't remember who. Save your money on a pressure test until after you seal your watch because chances are it won't be water-resistant on arrival.
