  1. I have a couple of cases laying around that eventually will be part of a snowflake project. In the meantime I saw this movement, hands and dial on the bay and could not resist.

Parts all fit an eta movement (thoretically at least), but come mounted on a chinese movement. Given my long history of screwing up keyless works by removing the stem in the wrong position - where should the crown be when I pull it out?

By the way the seiko 7s26 is the best I have seen, in that the lever you push is only visible when the crown is in the correct place.

  2. I just hope I never get as anal about anything as those guys do about subjects such as "3 milled rings in the case instead of 2" or even more exciting is the 25 or so posts on the reason that a certain watch differs from the picture in a well know rolex book is because "the movement hold down screw in the watch pictured is not tightened completely"

  3. some quick and dirty pictures, biggest glaring difference is the case back, making an exact rep a difficult process. The rest of the case though is close enough in my opinion to serve as the base of a wearable snowflake rep. The gen is on the top

the crown guards "curve" the opposite way, the gens are sloped down while the rep are sloped up. The crown is also wrong, though I have a gen crown to replace it.

I did some work on a seiko sub to tide me over until I get the tudor put together, a sterile mil-sub rep.

  4. a great forumer donated a 1680 rep case to the cause, and I have my gen snowflake to compare... while there are subtle differences all around the biggest difference is in fact the caseback, other than that the cases are very close in size and shape. The contrasts are not to the point of killing the project since all I really am after is a snowflake looking watch that I can get wet. I'll take some comparison pictures once the sun comes fully up out here in seattle.
