  1. If you own a gen, or gen watches, do you wear the gen watches to your first meeting with a potential business associate/client? i only wear my gen watches to the first meeting with a potenital new business associate or client as I do not want a rep to distract from why we are meeting. There are times when I want to just "screw it" and wear whatever i feel like wearing that day, but in the end I always think, "why take the chance when I own so many nice gen watches?" Anyone else have these feelings?
  2. Well ... wording on the dial is the wrong color. How did they get this wrong? Take a look at my watch for the correct dial:
  3. This is kind of odd. But, ever since the launch of the Big Pilot rep about two months ago I have been seeing Big Pilots in the wild here in Los Angeles. Before the launch of this pretty decent rep, I had never seen a Big Pilot out. I have seen four pilots in the last month. Do you guys ever see them out and about? I even saw a former USC Heisman Trophey winning, Hall of Fame running back sporting a Big Pilot. I did compliment him on his watch. I hope his was a gen.
  4. Damn!!! Why did i buy the "small" Skyland v2?
  5. I just received my Skyland v2. This is truly the best rep out of the box I have ever purchased, and I own the Rlx GMT II chs and the PAM 252 North Pole. The AR is truly the best I have ever seen - it rivals my gen Panerais and IWCs. The thing I really love about purchasing this watch is it has saved me over $3,500. While I really like the watch, this great rep has made me realize that I don't love the Skyland enough to buy a gen Breitling - what a great test drive. I get to keep a very accurate model for a fraction of the cost of owning the gen - no one would/will know.
  6. I have been admiring the PAM 233 and 270 models that utilize Panerai's new in house movements and the "Fang" power reserve indicator. For you more knowledgeable watch experts out there, did Panerai utilize this design/layout to make replicating their watches more difficult? This type of design seems unlike any other manufacturer. Thanks!
  7. I must agree with you abou the feeling of the gen. I love my Fiddy. It used to be my daily watch until the market price jumped over $20k. Now I am a bit more cautious when and where I wear it. The down side of appreciation. I will probably never sell it but you never know so i try to keep it in a good condition. Nice PAM
  8. I am loving my new rep GMT IIc w/chs so much that I am seriously considering buying the gen two-tone version - the one I really want. The only problem is the rep of the TT GMT IIc may be so good there will be no reason to buy the gen. I don't know if I can wait for it to come out. Have any of you guys ever bought a rep, if so which one, and liked it so much that you bought the gen? it happened to me a few years back. i was new to the rep game and didn't about these types of forums and bought a rep Fiddy PAM 127 from a guy who posted a Craig's list ad fro $700!!! It was the Russan movement version. The case sucked but it was one of the first Fiddy reps. Anyway, I wore for a while and decided that i had to get a PAM 127. So after many nights of dreaming about owning a gen Fiddy, I bought one for about a third of what they are selling for now. Happy I bought it back when I did. Gil
  9. I guess was not clear in my comment. I was not going to ask the guy if his watch was real or a rep. i was just going to ask to get a closer look. I have never asked someone if their watch was real and never will ask. I just wanted a closer look as i have always flirted with the idea of buying a gen all gold President some day.
  10. I was in Las vegas over the weekend and had a conversation with a guy wearing a Rolex all gold Pres/Day Date. or at least it appeared to be a gen Rolex. He was talk-active, very confident, and the president of a large furniture manufacturing company. This was their convention. I was wearing a gen Panerai 127. It seemed as if he was flashing his Rolex during our conversation in line at the hotel's check-in. I was tempted to ask to look at his watch further to see if it was real. But, I must admit, I was a bit hesitant to ask - I didn't want to offend him. It seemed as if he could afford a gen all gold/solid gold Rolex but you never know, particularly after seeing some great reps here. I own gens as well as reps and am always looking for the best rep so i was curious. I did not ask. The thing is in Las vegas I see sooooo many Rolex watches that I rarely take notice. This leads to my question: Are there some watches that you see in the wild that you do not question whether or not they are gen? I guess I'm at a point where I question all watches now. Thanks!!!
  11. Thanks for the replies. I checked out Victoria's old post and will give the nail varnish a try. Thanks again!
  12. With the hot weather are having here in the U.S., I am experiencing really bad problems with my bracelet reps. I recently paid over $400 for the new GMT IIc w/CHS and can not wear. The bracelet irritates my wrist and causes a rash. This is very dissappointing because this is truly a beautiful and very accurrate rep. I only wish that the same thought that went into cloning it was used in selecting the metal for the bracelet. The last three RLX reps I purchased had given me a problem with irritation. I am close to giving up on bracelet reps. BTW, I do own a couple gen bracelet watches from Omega, Rolex, and Oris and I do not have a problem with them. I also purchased a Sub and a TT Sub from Eddie Lee a few years back and do not have problems with them so I am not allergic to all metal bracelets. Can anyone help? I remember hearing of other applying fingernail polish to back of their bracelets to help but that seems sloppy. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!!!
  13. If this was repped from the gen, then why does it have a rubber strap instead of the bracelet? I would be all over this with the bracelet. I tried on the gen when it first came out and seriously considered buying it. Does anyone know if this will be offered with a bracelet? Thanks!!
  14. I was going through my drawer of watches and came across my 187 rep. It was one of the first from Eddie Lee. Great watch at the time. However, the lack of AR is seriously disappointing now. So ... I never wear it out in "the wild." The lack of AR and date positioning scream fake. So, my question is do any of you still wear the 187? As far as I know the reps of the 187 have not improved from the version I own. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
  15. I don't get it. Why is that a "special" watch? What about it makes it different than any other watch? Just wondering. I like Panerai watches and people ask me that question. When I see HBB watches that's what comes to mind for me. They kind of seem like a hybrid of AP ROOs. I choose the AP. Other opinions?
