  1. G'day! I saw someone else post this sort of thing a month or so ago and seeing as I'm having trouble deciding on my next purchase, thought I'd do the same.

Have narrowed it down to these three:

    Speedy Day Date

    Sinn U1 PVD

    UPO Ultimate Orange

(btw, are the UPO chrono versions any good?)

Otherwise, I have been flashing on getting a lesser known brand as twice now recently (just today again by Lani) have read they're often better constructed than the bigger names. So, if you've got a suggestion for one of the not so big names, or any suggestion at all... I'd like to hear it.

I've grabbed myself two RLX's recently and have a custom Pam homage on the way from Getat, so any suggestion in 300-400 range other than RLX's or Pam would be great!

Thanks for reading, and I'll seriously take any advice you're willing to offer.

  2. This watch is changing my perception of what I think is 'my style'. Initially thinking it was too small for my taste, it's grown on me greatly. I'm beginning to appreciate this traditional classic,

A bad shot but it's the nubmariner for Thursday:

*Edit:* p.s. What exactly is the "GW" mentioned above?

  3. It's great to hear all the positive feedback here as I just ordered a custom stealth vintage from them. Inspired by JohnG's post here (but without the skill required to do it myself) I thought I'd give these guys a go. They appear to be better quality than the pam reps and importantly, much cheaper seeing as I'm not even sure if I like the panerei style.

Mine is about two weeks away until it lands, but I can say that organising the custom was quick, easy and painless. The stealth dial didn't fit the case i wanted and it's only taking them 3 days to custom make it and ship.

I'm impressed and will report back.

  4. Queensland would be great, but you can't have it all, so I'm wondering if any of our Aussie members know of a helpful watch repairer in the country...

I've had a high end horologist for many years who I wouldn't dare take quartz to, let alone reps. And I have a guy who has been doing repair/restore (excellent and cheap, located Brisbane City central) for me for a few months - who I may ask if he's interested next time I see him. If he's friendly, I'll post back here.

But if no luck, I'm really just talking about some seemingly straighforward stuff like servicing auto's and hand replacement (should i bugger it up with my new tools), but I guess re-luming would be handy too.

    Thanks for any tips.

  5. Yeh, well don't come knocking for a week or so yet, most of the goods are still in the air!

We should however have a good range of stocks on hand in a week to 10 days!

    See you then.

Of course. I'm intrigued to see what your shop holds. While I've just ordered my third rep (actually a Getat custom, not really a rep), my watch hobby extends far beyond the rep world and I know your into the quartz stuff so I'll even be interested in that. Being just down the street is good news to me!

    :D
