  1. Is the crown too big? I asked for additional photos but I just want to get a second opinion - Does this look like the latest superlume version?
  2. That thing looks great! If you don't mind me asking, where did you find a gen crown? How much does a gen crown run and will it fit the rep tube or should you do both at once? Thanks!
  3. I vote the SMP. Which military academy are you attending?
  4. I am searching for a nice Polar Explorer II and since the old noob versions are no longer available I seek your advice on today's best option. Andrew has one with "superlumed" hands and markers. I am curious if it is a good option and whether the lume is actually an improvement over rep lume. How would it compare to say a Monster? http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=9248&zenid=210006cadb36d2809dcd72e0c8221b33 Thanks for any advice you can provide. I there is a better option, let me know as well. I haven't been around for a while so I have lost track of the latest and greatest in the game. Thanks.
  5. Where's the strap from/what model? It's a beautiful thing.
  6. Tiyal- I assume yours is a 21J model? Thanks for the replies everyone. I seems like the 21J is the more reliable option here.
  7. I am about to buy a GMTIIc with the Asian clone movement. I have been researching for a while and it seems there are problems with this movement with a GMT complication. I hear two things - the GMT hand will not keep accurate time and/or that the movement will simply not function. I understand the watches in this promotion are ICHS models - do these problems usually happen to those with CHS? I would like to hear about any reliability issues or success stories from those who own the GMTIIc with a clone 2836. How do they keep time, including the GMT hand? Thanks All
  8. Haha. Thanks for the reply. Does that chill or warm the beverage?
  9. I am looking to buy a Ploprof but am concerned that the bezel lock would make it difficult to ensure it's waterproof. Is the bezel lock button/mechanism entirely outside the case? I want to ensure this thing can get wet. I am heading to a beach soon and think this would be an awesome beach watch, but I can't think of anything more ridiculous than taking a Ploprof before getting in the water. I would grease the seals, but I don't have a pressure tester so I am looking for your experience before I buy. Let me know if you have tested your Ploprof in the drink. Thanks for the help guys.
  10. First let me introduce my situation. I am about to get married. While my watch habit is serious, it has not overcome my sense of practicality and therefore not entered the realm of >$1000 pieces. My search begins for my first nice gen... My question is about the "wedding day gift." My future wife understands the extent of my watch obsession and as such has agreed that a watch is appropriate for occasion. I want the watch to be a high quality go anywhere do anything type piece with the potential for a lifetime of enjoyment. I am posting this in the Omega section because I think the Seamaster Professional "Bond" watch in black (212.30.41.20.01.002) is the right choice. I also really like the Planet Ocean but I think it may be far from our price range. The question is, can a Seamaster Pro be found for around $1200 realistically? What kind of condition should I expect at that price? How would you go about purchasing a used watch with minimal risk from the various sources (Bay, sales forums...)? How do I keep from getting scammed without getting robbed by an AD? Any advice you can provide regarding this watch and used purchases would be greatly appreciated. The wedding is several months away so I have time to patiently hunt the sources for a deal. I just dont want my first "quality" watch to be a bad deal (dont want to get a rep if I dont know about it, broken, my imagination goes wild with worries). Its a significant purchase and I want it to be a great experience. Please provide your wisdom....Thanks in advance. (I recognize there is a search function so please dont flame me, I am looking for info specific to the seamaster and the latest advice. Please PM me if you have a need to destroy the new guy. I would really like to tap into the wealth of knowledge here. Thanks again) JD
