  1. as for the cotes de geneve, ask Dj Doshi too, he used a CDG company, not home made and it's amazing. Best franken RBII I have ever seen. The sad thing about Domi's plate is that he didn't want to follow my advice. The angle of his CDG is completely wrong as well as the width of the lines. Even though I told him so.

Slaughterer's plate is great if budget is tight.

  2. Hey guys,

Since the beginning of the X-mas Holiday I haven't been around that much. This due to a sh*tload of work and due to the fact that I have been sick for a couple of weeks, infected with a bacteria. All the food during the X-mas period did me no good! I will get back on track and follow up on the new threads. :)

Since the end of November I had been on the lookout for a new piece. I had set my eyes on the 15300 rose gold with black gator strap and black dial. A few weeks later I found some. I also found an AP 26300 ROC Panda. One of my favourite pieces from AP as well (in my price range...).

The ROC and RG RO were in the same price range. I love both and in the end I decided to pick the 26300 as it suits my lifestyle better. Next to that I feel the movement is a bit more complicated and the AP 2385 movement is one of the best out there in my opinion.

So let's fast forward, I bought my piece around the 10th of January. It's a 2012 H-series and it was LNIB. Still under warranty I did not hesitate long and went for it. After some troubles with the customs I finally could lay my hands on my piece this week.

I bought this piece for a special occasion as well. I turned 25 on the 30th of December. It's my birthday gift to myself ;):).

The 26300 is the follow up on the 25860. Basically AP redesigned the case (it still looks the same though) and they used new dial combo's. Blue, brown and white. The 25860 didn't have screws that went from top to bottom, the bezel screws were more placed for aesthetics than for functionality. The 26300 has white gold screws that go from top to bottom like the original Royal Oak design. An extra reason to pick this one. I also love the fact it's a bit thicker, makes the watch sporty as well.

In my opinion an extremely versatile piece! I love it!

  3. Guys,

Is there a decent MOP dial datejust for the ladies, no rep diamonds or whatsoever, just an MOP datejust with roman numerals and oyster bracelet. Anyone who knows as I don't see them with my to go to dealers.

The most preferred one is the 179174, also looking for the 178241 and 116244

    Pic of the 179174:

Anyone who already ordered a lady-datejust?

Also, what is a good price for second hand ones? :)

  4. Guys,

I'm starting to get more appreciation for Rolex. After ordering a TC V6 I went to the AD in town (@ honeybear, the one you know too ;) ) and tried the Daytona. To be honest, I like it quite a lot. It's small but I feel it's a great piece for me.

I have absolutely 0 knowledge about Rolex. I might be knowledgable about AP, when speaking of Rolex it's the opposite since they never caught my attention, and if they did it was in a wrong way.

Why I started this thread is because I'd like to know more about the Daytona and the history, mainly about the 116520.

What is a good series to buy (as gen) and why? Are there any good reps out there? I know there are issues with the movement but is the dial lay-out wrong too? I absolutely have no idea. I'm a true rolex noob.

What gen series would you advise and why?

What rep would you advise and why?

    Thanks! :)

  5. Guys,

After more than 1 year being busy with this project, being sourcing, working etc on it I will now show you some spyshots of the work done. This will be the best franken ever made by now within all the rep forums, I'm 100% sure of that. Closest to gen!

Offcourse, since these are spyshots I will inform you about the whole process very soon.

I'm now in my last stage of building this beauty, it only needs a brush finish on the caseback which will be done soon, then I'll present you the ultimate franken with a few more extra secrets... ;)

Enjoy my little "collage" with a few shots.

Any, questions, I am happy to help!

if anyone knows how to enlarge this picture, feel free to help as I'm no photobucket master... ;):)

  6. Guys,

A friend is looking for a cheap gen as a present for her brother. The budget is around USD340. Is there anything you guys can advise?

Im not familiar with these kind of gens but some brands that come up to my mind are Swatch, rodania, seiko, tissot, or am I wrong?
