  1. It look like every week a new Sinn model comes out or a variation in movments. Pretty cool. Steve
  2. i was planning on getting the U1 so it would not be modified. I have not heard of any dead Sinns but they are pretty new . steve
  3. This is why I suggest the Rep factories have options such as the Myota 8515. they are shipped in sealed container and are prepped with oil etc. The rep makers should clean out he inside of the watch with a q tip and then use canned air to blow out any debre before putting int he new movement. If the environment of the factory is dusty etc then it will get into the watch. A sall amount of dust is like a Large rock to the watch movment. A good example is a Digital camera with a moving lens. these are very precise instruments you see for about $ 100 USa with zoom. If you take them to the Beach and even if you are careful a small amount of sand will get lodged in the watch (wind blowing sand) and your camera zoom is not working. these factories are not sterile operating rooms and are most likely basement overcrowded and dirty. A quartz movment is a nice "choice" to offer buyers. i would buy a Japanese Quartz (Citizen) movement for reliabilty over any Asian auto movement.See how much demand and take it from there. Steve
  4. Nice idea but there are problems. If you look at both movments the hands fit on different size posts (widths) on the movements. you may also need a different movement holder. I did a lot of research on this. I also own a few 7750 and Swiss ETA Clones . I found that the 21J is just as Reliable as the Asian ETA Clone. What you give up is the smoother ticking of the second hands, lack of hacking, and the 21J is not quite as precise as the ETA in accuracty. The 21J DG 2813 is a copy of a Myota 8515 Citizen movement and and has been in use for years Since 1970's. It is sort of like the Seiko Auto movment in my 007 Diver. The Rotor only winds in one direction while the ETA style winds in both directions. I honestly would buy a Quartz movement over any of the Auto movements as I really want a watch that works but looks cool to me. The price difference is also a factor in the SInn watch. For $218 you get the Asian ETA copy (no Swiss real ETA are avaialble or they are used for that price "rebuilt"). For $ 128 the 21J. If both watches are just as reliable I will go for the 21j. I also read that that if you plan on NOT servicing the movement you are better with the 21j . This Sinn has the same parts (saphire crystal, case , strap) on BOTH models. Most often you get the mineral crystal on Quartz and 21 J but not this one. The shipping is the same on both. There are many cheap 21J movments but if you are gettign this DG2813 or better yet the Myota 8515 you are fine in the reliability. If it were a ROLEX cloen I would get the 28 K beat as everyone looks at how smooth the seconds are. Steve
  5. There was a guy who posted it on another Forum. It is Ok but not the brightest and not the worst. Steve
  6. I don't think it hurts ans I would never pay gen prices. For instance i would never buy a Rolex Deep See even if I hit the multimillion lottary. So they did not lose any potential sales from me.
  7. The reps weights more than the gen. steve
  8. Good price for the Gen strap and bracelet for a Gen fancy watch. No outlandish prices. I am still a porr boy and can't afford the Gen Bracelet. The gen watches are really not 1 to 1 as the weight of the watches are much heavier than the gen. this is similar to the Rolex Deep Sea. Steve
  9. I question if the ETA Swiss movement is a real swiss ETA. One poster who took detailed pics said that movment has not been made for 10 years or more !. Maybe the Rep makers are FAKING US. Perhaps it is just another factory that makes Chinese movements with a ETA stamp on it. My Asian Clone also says ETA on it. i bought a Asian Clone for my Breitling and it never worked right out of the box. I would rather have a quartz or a Minoya movment that is more reliable. Steve
  10. If you don't need the Swiss or Asain 28 K beat movement and don't mind a 21J 21K beat Chinese movement you can get the U1 adn U2 on the same rubber strap, same case and same saphire crystal for $ 138. I honestly ahve great luck with Quartz but and unsure if it will ever be offered.
  11. There are quartz reps of Sinns but not from our dealers and I question the quality. I saw the pictures and they were not that detailed. I plan on waiting for the bracelt to come out and see what price they want for the watch. If the price is to high I amy wait till it drops. I have found that it takes a while but the prices do drop after time. I have so many watches right now I can stick it out. I used to be one of those guys who got bragging rights by being the first to own but now taht I have a family I am the last one. Steve
  12. My inlaws left so I am sane again. I think the momentum is to great for the Sinn line to storp at the U1 and U2 and the bracelets are on the way. This reminds me of the Graham lin a few years ago. One watch and now there are many models in all price ranges. Look at Watch Eden. they have jap quartz models also. Steve
  13. I spoke to one of the Dealers and he said the Bracelet is in the works but not to hold your breath. It was fairly easy to make the changes between the U1 and U2. you can see that both cases are the same except for the printing on the back and the bezels markings. Yes the face and bezels are different but for the most part the watches are pretty close. The Bracelet is a work of art and I have tried one one. Heavy, well made and will balence the weight of the watch. I am tempted to buy the U1 on rubber and then buy the bracelet afterwards. Steve Oh yes, Sorry about torturing you guys with the pics in the above post but I could not help myself.
  14. Sinn U1 Pics of gen on Rubber and Steel Bracelet that are meant to torment and torture you. My inlaws are staying with us this weekend so I decided to torment and torture you guys. Steve
  15. here is a wrist pic of the U1 on a bracelet
  16. I am in the same boat. i want the U1 NOW but want the bracelet. Many times the bracelts are offered later as a separate item. You often pay more in the long end if you order the Watch on Rubber and buy the rep bracelet latter. After looking at all the Sinn forums for Gen and looking at the watch I feel I will wait as painful as it is. I feel the bracelet REALLY makes the watch. As far as the finnish is concerned. The Rep has a beadblasted or brushed finnish that is not the same but really close to the Gen. I think The One Dealer offering the Solid Titanium version is worth considering (I have never delt with him (puretime I think). If the watch is Solid Titanium then the finnish will not wear off unlike Bead blasting finnish. Also the watch is pretty heavy in steel (like the Rolex Deep Sea). A Titanium version (even if the Gen isn't titanium) is not a bad idea as it will be more comfortable. I am not sure what to do. If you look for " Sinn U1" ont he internet you can see many pics of owners of the Gen showing it off and you will be drooling over your keyboard. Steve
  17. Soon you will be able to order the Bracelet or strap separately. This way you can put the steel bracelet on the U2 you got(if you wish to ). I was told by a Dealer there are a several variation SINNS comint downt he PIKE SOOON. One is the PVD version of bothe rU2 and U1 and also a Stealth version. It reminds me of the Bell and Ross Phamtom or stealth version (not my cut of tea). I think I will wait for the bracelet to come out and buy the U1 and get it over with. I don't think I can hold off anymore !!! Steve
  18. The only thing missing is the Steel braclet.I saw a Gen Sinn U1 On Bracelet and it was beautiful. Most guys can pull off wearing this Rep without being "called out". For instance I have a Rolex Deep Sea (Replica). My Brother in law is wealthy(SNOB) and has MANY $$$ Gens. He took one look and knew My Rolex was a REP. I then compaired my REP Rolex to his GEN Rolex and could not see much difference in quality. He then said the Rep looks great but he knows that I am cheap( True Hee Hee ) and that my wife would kill me if i were to get a GEN since i am on a limited budget. Seriously, I love the Sinn U1 and anyone seeing me wear it (that knows me) would not question it. This is my Grail watch once the bracelt is available !
  19. I did search for "sinn u2 replica" and came upt with 3 more dealers who have similar websites for about the same prices. Steve
  20. I noticed the pics on Trusty and Josh site have the second hand fixed so that issue is out of the way. i would be concerned that the currect stock of the wrong second hand is empty and the new stock is being used. Steve
