  1. Haha well made you look. Its actually an Invicta Pro Diver I had lying around. The movement was dead and I initially tried to sell it on for someone else to play with but I loved the dial work too much to throw it away so I bought another cheap Invicta to take apart for the movement transplant.

After I got the movement swapped I thought it would be a good chance to turn it into a nice modern day interpretation of a big crown homage. I began shaving the crown guards off and fitted a nice non graduated bezel insert with ofrei pearl (relumed of course) and put in a nice domed plexi crystal front AND back on the display caseback. I then found an old big lollipop seconds hand which I broached to fit the NH35A movement.

    The result.....

    Pretty snazzy looking :)

  2. Interesting topic.  Had to wear it on TV for a show, but never on my own.  I don't have a problem with others wearing it, just not something I would do.  Like others have stated, do use sunblock on the face, moisturizer for the beard, and the same green bottle POLO cologne I have worn since I was 13 years old.

Big D, that cracked me up, I cannot stop laughing.

Yea yea yea ;) I seen you with the new range of lipstick for men....

Remember? I was at the counter buying cream for my roids?

  3. Another thing that puts me off a gen BB is I was at a watch store in Boston a few months back and the BB on show there had specks of dust and dirt under the crystal! Either someone had a go at taking the watch apart in the store for whatever reason or Tudors QC from factory was quite poor. Im not talking about loads of stuff under the crystal but there were 2 noticeable particles that I seen easily with the naked eye :(

  4. My problem is $4000 or so which isnt much more will get a very nice used Rollie. I love the BB and I'm extremely tempted when the blue version comes out. If a blue rep gets released I'll maybe take it for a spin first.

  5. Yea I think once you see the 100 other watches in a similar price range the decision gets a lot tougher. The gen Tudor BB is still quite pricey is it not for an eta movement? Or am I being a bit tight?

  6. Hey congratulations mate! Very impressive and great that you've been here that long. Its really interesting to see how far reps have developed. I remember my first el cheapo Tag Heuer Link I bought in Tenerife from the lookie lookie men when I was 14 (14 years ago!). Rusted and corroded like mad after 2 days and I needed up throwing it out of my hotel window haha.

  7. Hey guys looking some advice. I received the wrong watch which was also DOA from a dealer before Christmas and sent it back to China for a refund. So far 2 months down the line it still hasnt showed up and is most likely lost in the post. The watch was worth about £140 and I can only claim a max of £50 but its better than nothing when they've lost my post.

Now in order to make a claim from Royal Mail in the UK I need to show what was in the package and the value of it. What do I do for this? Since the return name and address was not on any paypal payments I received or sent and I have no proof of value of the watch, not to mention I cant exactly send them photos of the broken rep to fulfill the checkbox of "Description of contents including photos etc"

Would it be possible to send them photos of another watch and show a highlighted payment from someone else to make the claim or would that backfire?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  8. 36mm, for a Rolex, unless you're a trend-conscious fashionista (as opposed to a gentleman with classic style), is not petite.

While I prefer more vintage models, there is nothing wrong with that Explorer. I say sate your desires.

Thanks Freddy, I think 36mm is ok, not too small for modern wrists and with a more straight forward design of the datejusts / explorers they wear quite well. I think the plain bezel and no date or cyclops of the explorer helps make it wear bigger.

I actually have an old gen Seamaster 34mm and it wears just as big as a Datejust because of the dial size and the thin case profile.
