  1. Hey guys. As some might know I've already started selling a lot of my collection to fund a nice gen. I'm getting attracted more and more to the 36mm Explorer 14270 and would be leaning towards the version with the Tritium dial.

I prefer the 36mm version due to the dial configuration but the thing I hate is the non lug hole case and also its hard to find a local one in a complete set.

Vintage 1016 Explorers are fantastic looking but unfortunately out of my price range.

What do you guys think of the 14270 and do you think its a good or bad choice?

  2. Not sure if its already been asked but what exactly comes with a Rolex from new these days? Does it usually depend on the model too?

With the amount of fake papers etc its hard to even know if the Rolex's being sold with a full box set are even genuine.

Spotted this one stated its from 2007. Does it look complete, only thing I can think that's missing is the Datejust booklet, also is the card holder genuine?

  3. It happens unfortunately and we are at the mercy of the dealers or factories to be willing to accept a return to repair it or even hope that it makes it back through the Chinese postal system.

I am a big fan of swapping in a leather strap with my reps now. It beats having to worry about whether the bracelets will give up and having my watch flying half way across the room or street!

  4. So I am just about to plunge for a Rolex 16030 but want to swap the bezel for a smooth type. Couple of questions:

    1. Where is the best place to buy a gen smooth bezel surround and for the best price?

    2. Are the gen smooth bezels white gold or stainless?

    3. Are they easily swapped over? Could I do it myself?

    Thanks :)
