  1. Thanks Dizzy. I been looking at pics of reps and gens, and the reps are a lot thicker. Someone is going to try to fit a Genuine 4030 dial on the new(er) 7750 with el primero spacing for me. Hopefully this week. So thats a start.

I suspect that it won't fit into a case made for el primero, though. The El Primero 400 is only 6.5mm thick, while the 7750 is 7.9mm thick stock. With the added plates needed to move the gears, 9mm? (thats a guess).

So I can, if I'm lucky, find an old secs @ 6 daytona?

I suppose I could live with the thicker case, at the end of the day, all I want is a modern daytona that's not going to blow up.

I don't want to get in to too many details and get people excited in case it doesn't pan out, but I'm really trying to figure out how to get one made for myself, and if I can, there's no reason it should be the only one :whistling:

Mate, this makes no sense for me, or maybe it's just my english.

What do you mean by: I been looking at pics of reps and gens, and the reps are a lot thicker. Someone is going to try to fit a Genuine 4030 dial on the new(er) 7750 with el primero spacing for me.

Do you mean that you put an old EP 16520 dial into a new 116520 case (secs@6) ? What is the sense behind that ( if I got you right)?

    Best, J

  2. TX- the screws on yours look really nice - may I ask you for your source and the exact model? There are floating a lot of different APs around, soman advice would be very nice. Owned the 15202 (real "Jumbo") from the group buy, but couldn't get used to the screws.

The pics above are not showing the Jumbo, it's the 15300 with second hand, normalm39mm size. Wears much bigger than other 39mm watches.

    Looks superb. Best, J

  3. Mate, you are correct, and I thought the same. But: saw an invoice for a 16520 service dial today, from rolex itself. It says 11/1996, and it was a luminova dial. I thought so, because of the missing "T". The watch it was installed into, was from 1993. Had it into my hands, also the papers and the invoice. Was an official and certfied rolex service center here. Strange, or?

  4. Dear friends, thank you for your kind words. Try to take better pics during the WE, and before my wife kills me (because I have bought another watch, instead of collecting funds for our summer holidays, hehe...I guess I didn't tell her about my 16520 project...did I?)

Urbanshogun: I don't mind of course, but compared to picking one up from an AD, it was a steal. For details just ask Concepta. This one goes for €1.000+, but it is all gen!

For god's sake - a watch that slips under a cuff...if you ever wore an AP sec@12 you know what I mean.

Not too sporty, not too occassional not too small - just perfect! Thanks concepta, also for your perfect aftersales service! It's top!!!

So, here's one box, lume and the wristie.

    Cheers,J
