  1. Hi all, I've an omega PO to go with my seamaster, and I'd like an interesting strap for the 45mm PO as two steel band omega dive watches is probably a bit samey. Anyone know where I can get something like the black rubber omega strap, or an interesting alternative? Have one of narikaa's black leather ones with clasp but want something a little more chunky. I'm in the uk..
  2. I've been looking into this. Whilst "10m" kind of implies it'll be fine to have a bath with, or to go to the swimming pool, it's probably not. The movement of your hands swimming and hitting the water means it's not static. I think 3-5 ATM is what you'd need to feel safe doing a bit of swimming in it, and definitely more if you're a diver.
  3. Have done, the gentleman in question has another waiting for me: top man! I must admit, I'm not quite sure what a pearl usually consists of. On my (gen) Seamaster it looks like either a flat plastic disk or just a flat blob of glow paint. it's not a sticky-outy type one. Anyway, Narikaa comes through - the watch was so nice that I was tempted to keep it rather than take a few days to get a replacement but think on balance having one that's perfect's a better idea.
  4. I've an Omega PO that's arrived without a pearl. Before I hassle the supplier (!) I was wondering if there was any chance that someone sells a glow in the dark product that I can just squirt into the pearl depression, wipe flat, and have a new pearl - glow in the dark powder premixed with epoxy or similar, in small quantities, available in the EU. I'm guessing the answer is "no" given the complexity of the relume threads on here, but thought it worth asking...! <edit>like this stuff: http://www.glowtec.co.uk/paint-green-2.htm ?
  5. Got my Narikaa one this morning - beautiful watch although unfortunately the pearl's missing, have mailed him to see what to do about it. The watch looks *great* though. I've tried a gen on and this looks like a great match. Also got Narikaa black with orange stitching strap which I'm intending to fit. Once I've resolved the pearl issue I'm going to take it to a local watchdealer to have it pressure tested - I'll post back the results we all know what the water resistance is like. Ric
  6. Or just download the excellent and free NeoOffice. It's MS Office compatible, and open source. By Airport, I think you mean Time Capsule. This is the Apple box that you back up to automagically. You *can* access these over t'internet, but not by default: see http://theappleblog.com/2009/05/14/access-your-time-capsule-over-the-internet/ Myself, I've been a professional IT person for aroudn 10 years, mainly supporting PC stuff. I now run a 17" Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard at home, and occasionally boot it into Windows 7 for games. Any specific questions, PM or ask away!
  7. Hi All, I'm about to take posession of a Narikaa Planet Ocean. This has a 21j asian automatic movement - is it easy to remove the stem/crown in order to grease it, with a view to improving its water resistance? Can anyone furnish me with an idiot's guide? Was planning to do the crown, the case back - do I need to touch the bezel? Cheers Ric
  8. Hi All, I've got a genuine Seamaster Automatic from around 2001, and it's a bit scuffed from desk surfing. Is polishing out scratches on the casing (got a couple) or the strap (got quite a few and the strap is part brushed/part shiny so probably a PITA to do) myself a Really Bad Idea or should I pay a pro to do it for me? Anyone recommend a UK based person to do this for me? Got quoted
  9. I foolishly went out and tried on a real Planet Ocean today, to see what the 45mm one was like compared to my (gen) Seamaster Automatic. Lovely watch, and I've ordered a Narikaa rep to play with as my first rep watch. What's the comparison between the cheaper reps of the PO vs the Ultimate POs? Anyone like to fill me in? Apologies if this has been done to death already and I've missed it. Cheers Ric
  10. That looks great. Wonder if Narikaa can get hold of them? Anyone recommend a UK seller?
  11. Dumb question, but who's DJ? <edit> DJ is datejust, isn't is <slaps forehead> They look a bit, well, bling in the pictures - do they sit well when they're actually on the wrist? Any pointers on reputable sellers who can ship to UK easily? Thanks guys!
  12. I'm after a rep for the missus - she needs a new watch, doesn't want me to spend a fortune on a genuine one, and I figured you guys could probably help. I'm thinking of something along the lines of a women's Omega or Rolex but would be interested in other stuff - most of the ones I see advertised are for men's watches. Anyone seen any nice sellers of womens models, preferably shipping out of Europe?

  14. OK, I'm sure I'm being dumb, but I'm new here - so bear with me!. These look great. I've a real Seamaster Automatic and I fancy one of these to accompany it. Where's Narikaa? Anyone like to send me a link as I'll have a couple at this price...
