  1. Do you have a link to a cheap asian version with the right insert ?
  2. I love the green look - really unique (least it is to me as i've never seen one like this before - so if its a frequently created version tell me nicely, lol)
  3. Or 'ear 'ear if you are from certain parts of London, lol.
  4. Hi folks, I have decided on what watch I want to buy hopefully and it is the SMP 50 years silver/black bezel GMT. However, funds will only stretch to the cheaper one at present. I have seen several out there but they all seem to have the bezel insert that has the incorrect alignment of silver/black at the 6 and 18 markers. The expensive versions seem to have this correct. Does anyone know of anywhere that can do the 21J version with the correct bezel, or if I can just buy a replacement (rep) bezel and swap them out ? Thanks in advance. Here is a link to the right look that I am after if it helps;- http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=195
  5. Quite right ! Its called marketing and corporate image. Whats "not on" about that ? A company comes under fire in the "real world", takes a bit of a battering, makes changes and improvements and then the first thing they do is revive a popular marketing campaign to remind everyone how good they used to be. I don't see any problem whatsoever.
  6. Be careful what you wish for - this dancing girl and her friends might break the car if they wash it ! ;- http://www.funpicsfree.com/photogallery/funnyfatfolks/Fat-Belly-Dancer.jpg (link is not to nudity)
  7. This raises an interesting point which probably ought to be an offshoot of this thread, but I will mention it and if there is interest I will start one;- Maybe it would be useful to have a list of countries where it is illegal to own a rep / buy a rep / sell a rep etc ? After all, with global travel any one of us might inadvertently land ourselves in the proverbial poo. Maybe a whole "legal" sub forum might spring from this ?
  8. Lani - that is one of my most favoured watches. Can I ask which version you have ? They seem to range from $88 to $788 !!! LOL Yours looks like its the "about $200" version but I hope Im not insulting you or the watch by being incorrect here.
  9. You know, the problem with taking a Rolex to Yosemite is that all the fine dust gets inside it and under the crystal and in the movements. Its trashed now - totally worthless - but I will take it off your hands for $200 Actually how would I know, lol - I've never been but its on my list
  10. Love the look of the SS one the best - very smart watches. Is the "Chief" in "Chief AR" the name of the person who does it ? (I'm new so sorry if this seems like it has an obvious answer, lol).
  11. Hi @specialvat - Thats some impressive change, though when I read your post I imagined it would come back looking the same as before rather than coated in black - is that what they refer to as PVD ? It looks great. Only downside is losing the numbers on the outer case but I am sure that doesn't worry you. Mine does not have numbers so would not be a problem. Not sure I want to turn it black though either. I have been quoted NZ$240 for a new sapphire crystal (cos it has a silver dome attached on the inside which covers the hand stack spindle, sorry dont know the right name for it). Then new bracelet would be about the same and re-polish the case. Actually I reckon the crystal could be fixed with diamond polish and the bracelet and case could be re-polished but it needs to be a matte finish. Is Avitt the kind of guy who could do that sort of thing ? I presume he is a member on here as you referred to him ? Cheers.

  13. Hi All, First may I say I am thoroughly enjoying reading the many articles on this site. It is fascinating that there are so many people who find replica watches a subject of such passion and I am amazed at the depth of knowledge and interest which surrounds it. I hope I dont get as hooked as some of you seem, LOL I am biding my time looking at watch makes and models before deciding what and with whom my first purchase will be, so in the meantime I have a question on movements. I own a Seiko kinetic auto-relay watch (that has seen better days and I am hoping to clean it up). Its kinetic (which I guess is Seiko's term for "automatic" but please tell me if Im missing something there), but also "auto-relay" which means even after 4 years if it has not been worn, you can shake it and it will set itself to the time it would have shown had it been worn every day. Naturally after a week it remains pretty accurate though after 4 years I would expect it to have a longer period of time loss/gain. My question is;- Is this unique to Seiko ? If not, is it available in any replica watches / movements ? Thanks in advance.
