  1. That looks just about right. Did you plunge the whole watch or just the insert? :yeah:

Here's 3 minutes in straight liquid pool chlorine. Like Lani said, it got much lighter when it hit the air. Next time 2 minutes might be worth a try.

All in all, I'm quite happy with the results. It's very uniform throughout the whole insert. It actually looks slightly darker than what the picture shows.

  2. Here's sort of a review of my new Vintage Military Submariner.

    Movement: Swiss ETA 2836-2 25J 28800bph (I hope) :whistling:

Arrived on time - no customs hassle. During unpacking the bezel insert came off

    - But seeing how little glue that held it I am actualle pleased with having the chance to secure it rather than loosing it paragliding over Grand Canyon. :victory:

Or at least if you've got the wrist of a 5 year old :(

Luckily I had an old Bond G10 20mm in the sock drawer :g:

Me like the bulky plexi crystal ;)

All in all a fairly good rep for the money I think.

The lume is awful - almost none at all but I guess on a gen of this age it would have faded anyways :pardon:

  3. I have a gen speedmaster bought an an auction with no paperwork or box too - It's not that unusual that people throw away those things. :bangin:

My brother won an Omega 007 Seamaster in a cinema contest about 10 years ago and it was sent to him in a bubbly envelope without any paperwork or box. An AD confirmed the watch at the first service and it's still running.

So at least a couple of people need boxes without being scammers

  4. Sorry to hear - as a noob here I'd hate to run into that kind of trouble like your experiences with those ultimate perfect super final edition 1:1 reps. I guess we all must expect a fair bit of trouble when buying knock offs at 1/10 the price of genuine goods.

But sticking to genuine watches will not keep you entirely out of trouble though

I've had a couple of Navitimers that fell apart, steamed up and one where suddenly the bracelet came off in 100 parts. Those were all genuine Breitling quality! - Partly because of my bad experienses with those I'm now into reps... :whistling:

You might consider selling your "collection" on the forum - someone could surely use or mend the watches. Have a nice weekend ;)

  5. Sounds like ETZ are really doing something about it - That's great news for those of us who ordered the new V5 - I've got a final version on the way from Andrew as well so it'll be interesting to do a side by side review on the two ;)

I wonder if there's any truth to the >30m waterproof in the description @etz? :g:
