  1. Hey, I just received my Pam250, and the Deployment clasp is new for me. I would really need some assistance how to actually close that clasp so I can put the watch on my wrist. Is it correct to squeeze the one end of the strap through the buckle? Just like i try it in the picture? I tried with a lot pressure but I couldn't squeeze it in yet :-( Sorry for the dumb question, but I don't wanna break my new watch the day i received it :-) Thanks
  2. Best would be a vector graphic, but I think any other format will do it as well ... main thing is that its high quality and more than 2400 dpi. That will be put on a film with 2400 dpi, then i will create the cliché by first exposing the blank cliché and then etching it. That's it. Then just applying the colors to the cliché, and then we just stamp the dial in a manner of seconds :-)
  3. @preator: Yes, that might be possible. But my wife is a photographer ... No problem to make a film from the vector graphic, expose the cliché, and then etch it. I just asked her, she can do 2400 dpi (instead of 600dpi from my laser printer). I think that should be fine enough :-) As to the brown dial. Don't you think that nice little toy here (Laser Engraver for 618 Bucks) will do it? I always wanted to have one.
  4. @upland: This brown radomir dial, it's not printed at all right? Is it just engraved? I think that could be simply laser-engraved (i am about to bid on a small laser engraving machine as well) :-)
  5. @preator: Yes it's such thing like in your video ... Just a little bit bigger and "automatic". However, as long as the Clich
  6. Hey thanks for the Feedback. If you don't know what machine I am talking about, check out this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDCBJKI0pw0&feature=related. They are printing on a Toy-Truck, but its the same procedure for dials. The Vintage Daytona Dial looks Intresting: The Dial form itself should be no problem, my simple $300 2Axis-CNC Machine can do this, including the recessed chronos. As for the Fonts, that might be tough. The pictures look as if those dials were Handwritten :-)
  7. Hey folks, I wanted to ask you if there is any dial that is not yet available for reps, or any dial that has some obvious fault, that the community would seriously want to be redone? I am asking because today I received my new tampon printing machine including UV lamp and equipment to create the clichés. I also already got a simple 2D CNC miling machine so creating (miling) and printing/stamping a dial should be as easy as 1-2-3. Is there anything I could do for the community, something that is totally in demand, because creating such a cliché for just one piece is senseless. I am working non-profit Cheers
  8. Wolf so there is no Way of adding a SL crown to the 250's at all? What about drilling a larger hole for a new Tube? And didnt T have also the flat crowns?
  9. Brian: I just bought a "Satin Brush Refinishing Pen". Can't wait for it to arrive and to start the Mod. Just one Question ... I would like to combine that mod with the "Rubber-Inlay-In-Lever-Hole"-Mode from Repgeek to make it sit more tightened. What will I do? - Do the rubber Mod. - Afterwards? File down the top of the lever to make it flush and then make the refinish? (Or do I have to shaver the lever itself) What if I replace the crown with a SL T48 later on. Will the mod be compatible with that?
  10. Brian, would you please tell us how you did that wonderful modification. My Lever seriously needs some rework too.
  11. Thanks for your Replies, however I'm starting to getting really nervous. 12-10-2010 10:22 International Hub AWAITING CUSTOMS CHARGING That's already a week ago that the watch arrived at the customs. I want it so bad ... I wasn't so nevous in years.
  12. Just one question. What is a GTG? If I would join, I would go there by car ... So I would offer to pick-up up to 3 people at Duesseldorf Airport or surrounding if needed. Only Condition: You must like highspeed driving :-)
  13. Exactly. All that is irrelevant. Yes ... a Rolex Movement is Better (more Jewels) than an ETA one, so the Rollie will be worth more. But what with Breitling Watches ... all they use are simple ETAs right? What would make them more expensive than the rep? Same Steel, same Movement, maybe not that good Waterproofed but hey ... <---- that was my point :-)
  14. I was just curious how high the difference is between Gens and Reps, if they all had no Trademark on it. Meaning i would like to compare just the Materials, Movement Quality, etc. Are there huge differences between Gens and Reps? (Is a Gen PAM worth that much more than a Rep if these two watches were from a NoName supplier - What about other Reps)? Is the GEN Price really justified? Or are even the Reps overcharges. What are your thoughts.
  15. Hey, I've ordered a watch. It was shipped from China, now I was checking the tracking site and found the following: 2010-10-06 22:12:00 GUANGZHOU Posting 2010-10-06 23:13:00 GUANGZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center 2010-10-07 01:48:00 GUANGZHOU Arrival at Sorting Center 2010-10-07 02:48:00 GUANGZHOU Handed over to Customs 2010-10-07 20:28:00 GUANGZHOU Released from Customs 2010-10-07 20:58:00 GUANGZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center 2010-10-12 10:21:00 UNITED KINGDOM COVENTRY PF Arrival at Sorting Center 2010-10-12 10:22:00 UNITED KINGDOM COVENTRY PF Handed over to Customs Will I get that watch or am I most likely to experience some difficulties? Regards
  16. The PAM250 is still on its way :-) I will come up with some pictures once it has arrived.
  17. Hey, I just got my PANATIME.com crocodile leather strap, and wanted to share some impressions with you. It feels good, looks good and smells good. However it feels pretty light ... no idea how the genuine look-and-feel is as I never had one in my hands. Check out:
  18. IMPORTANT: Was the wrong forum. I recreated the offer in the sales forum. Moderators ... please delete this topic! Thanks and sorry for the extra work.
  19. Just for information purpose: Called a 3d Scanning company. They want 250 USD for creating a 1:1 exact CAD model of the two pieces.
  20. Just to clarify: Is it legal or illegal to copy such CG? I am just asking because it has no Trademark on it, ... could someone check the patent register ... if that CG is registred?
  21. Where could you get the Gen CG from ... I am just intrested because I would get one of these for 300$ and put it on my Rep then. I was always thinking that you can't get them independently from the watch.
  22. @wolf: Great Idea, you just need a Gen CG photographed on a millimeter paper then or what exactly would you need? What would you need to do your CAD work? I think we should go 2-3 Ways parallely though so: Another Idea that I have. Is anyone here who has a GENand has a Webcam+Line-Laser-Pointer. If so then we could think about creating a 3D scan. Free Software for that is available here: http://www.david-laserscanner.com/ edit: I am looking for Gens on chrono24.com right now! If I could lower the price to around 3900 EUROS (5429 USD) I would get one of these, disassemble the CG, do some photographs, and "catch-and-release" the watch on ebay again. (Or in the Gen section here ) Better would be if anyone in here already had the gen.
  23. @maxman: I will definitely try to get this done before the rep factories upgrade ... even if it's just for the sake of our love to reps. I am really thinking about getting one of the Aftermarket CGs on ebay to laser-measure them ... but they are not the correct one for the daylights/chronos as they look slightly different (holes for the pushers). Any ideas on this? I am sure we could have this done within 3-4 weeks :-)
  24. Thanks for opening my eyes! I will pass this one on as it's too much risk. Thanks for everything!
