  1. I'm looking to add a sub to my collection. I want a classic silver / black, with a date on it and a good rep date mag if such a thing exists? Noob to Rolex apart from the Deepsea i bought about 4 years ago from Josh.

Are there any WM9 models i should be on the lookout for? Or should I just order the Noob V3...? Help!

The veyron killer that is the GTR :-) 564bhp dyno'd with ECU remap, decat, Miltek Y-pipe. On paper it doesn't win, but in reality it just does somehow!??! Lol, love the top gear reviews of my cars fantasic :-D

  3. Here are the pics! Nice black hands, excellent change :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Brilliant quality finish, perfect dial.. date wheel looks fine to me?!!? I include a marketing shot from a gen store last, looks like the RG BB pretty much 1:1 now this one doesn't have blue screws on the movement either.

I'm considering getting the full ceramic bracelet for this now, or maybe that and the new silver ice model...

  4. @Jkay you're looking at the photo from photobucket or wherever right? Not the one i posted above... My DSSD looks better IMHO and if this is a Gen, then i'm glad I saved myself $5000

The pearl and the edge of the bezel assembly are not right for sure and look at the crown and HE compared to the gen, easiest way to tell I guess is pic the serial no. Engraved on the rehault (tricky shot lol), that or take the back off and lets see the movement lol ;-D

Heres my Cartel Ultimate just for the craick....

  5. Pearl looks flat to me on the first shot. Like I said take a picture of it in the box with papers and receipt and a scribble next to it of ur username ;-)

What do I know anyway... No they are both DSSD pics one on the left is the one from your album, the other is a shot of a verified gen... anyway wheres the lume shot?

Nice watch all the same. Bezel insert looks slightly off as well as the outer edge of the bezel, this is what I noticed when I put my rep next to a gen hand in hand... heres a verified gen shot for comparison.

  6. It looks like a Modded EuroT / Trevor version 5 to me, might be wrong tho, i'm not an expert.

The Crown is well off compared to the gen, the bezel insert isnt bold enough either.

Taken from the shot with the protector on it :-P here. (Same album, just ask him to shoot it in the box it came in and with the papers + receipt hehe.)

I attach a comparison, which shows the crown difference, the one on the... oh never mind :-) you can see which is which straight away now.

  7. /me quickly hides all his two tone watch bracelets :-) :bicycle: lol, how very dare you!

And now for an opinon quote... "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks".

I won't point out what our co-admin's called, maybe you'll be facing another ban! lol (i'm joking).

All you can say is you tried, and anyone you dealt with selling gens etc will know you're ok to deal with, hell i'd be suprised if a lot of people wern't on here too!

  8. The 7750 movement family both Swiss, and Asian has around 200 parts. It's recommended that people who buy such a complicated piece of micro-machinery have it checked out by a professional before any serious usage. More commonplace movements don't require this kind of kid glove handling.

Some vendors do in fact offer service as part of the sale, but you have absolutely no proof of the quality or even existence of such a service, and it's generally viewed as a waste of your money. Locate the modders in your region of the world, and use them. It's part of the hobby.

More mundane watches should be worn for a month or two and then, if you believe it's a true "keeper", have it serviced as well. That should keep it running for 5 years.

Here here, I think this is the general consensus as well... if its a keeper then get it serviced, lets face it... its going to need a re-lume anyway :-D

I asked for a service to be included when I got my gen, god knows how long its been sitting in the shop window or out the back, unless its shipped direct from the maker then you would assume it would be tip top! God bless gen guarantee's is all I can say.

  9. Thank you, I want to purchase this rep soon, just want to make sure that there is no chronic issues, thanks again :)

I'll let you know if it falls over lol :-D i'm sure it won't i've had a very good look at it and its solid, its keeping time well and i've had the chrono running for ages, started/stoped/reset lots :-D, its going off for a lume job soon as thats the only thing that isn't great on it, as with most reps. Will be nice when it glows like a torch for hours :-D
