Took mine to a watch repair place today and got the job done properly - she even replaced the snapped pin with another she took out. On handing me the watch back, she said it was the best rep she'd ever seen!

I have to agree - these pins are a real [censored] to get out. I've snapped one too - still not fully adjusted the strap. Think I'll take it somewhere to get done properly.

Is there an easy way of determining the new or old version of the 7750 movement?

I have several reps now, and need some repair work done on a sub that has died for some reason. I've found what seems to be an independant guy repairing watches in our local town - he looks like he does it for the love rather than money, and I'd like him to take a look at the watch. Does anyone have any experiences in "cold" approaching a repair guy to look at a rep? The last thing I want to do is upset or offend the bloke, but equally, business is business no? I guess the worst he could do is say "no" (or could he smash it to pieces - I've heard stories...). Any advice welcome Cheers T

Uncanny. Me too today. Ordered Three lighters from China. Box arrives taped up today with a sticker on from the post office saying "your package arrived damaged, we'e taped it up as best we can" (words to that effect). All that was in there was one presentation box - empty. Looking at the box, it was obviously ripped open and the contents nicked. I mean I'd rather the whole thing was stolen and I saw none of it. But to nick the whole lot and replace one of the boxes is just taking the [censored]. Rather annoying. What is the position of most dealers about these situations? T

Managed to lose one of the screws from my Panerai 090 rep's crown guard. Tiny little things they are and its dropped on the floor in the office and can't find it! Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get one from? Thanks T
