Narikaa sells them at $468 , Me thinks that is a bit too much cash if you are only wanting the shell or casing of a watch.

Its a reasonable point - but not if you compare it to another option on mid cases such as NDT or Yuki or Phong?

The beauty with an MBK is you can take your time - bit by bit and mod by mod. Wearing the watch in the meantime.

I have a pair of gen 585's on my GW MBW as well and they are not a perfect match. I think its the shape of the MBW lugs that needs a bit of love. Ive been meaning to reshape mine for years now but nevet gotten around to do it.

Actually, it does because, typically, crowns get replaced during normal service. So it is quite expected to see a brand new 704 on a freshly serviced vintage sports watch. The opposite - having an old, beat up crown on an otherwise, pristine watch - makes 1 wonder.

Thanks - if you look at the latter pics added, the 704 is in situ. I was trying to get the look of an almost 'safe queen serviced' watch.

One with a rare luminova service dial, service insert and service crown.

However, I picked up a bag of old wrapped 703's and wanted to see how the profile looked - if anything looked really different?

I will keep a look out for a better condition wrapped 703 - if anyone has one spare please PM me

I would suggest bending the end links a bit so that the end link tips sit below the case edge.

Thanks for the input - they do not look great in the pics do they? These are actually quite new Gen 585's, which you probably know hold a crazy value - I will not be bending them!

I think the issue is that I threw the bracelet on for quick pics and the pins (which are also Gen Rolex) are not fully aligned and pushed through. Normally you can see the tips in all four positions and the EL's sit really nice - as they should do.

Generally refers to the sealing system on the case tube.

underline is a twinlock - 2 seal points and 3 x dots is a triplock - 3 seal points. Triplock is generally on the larger 7mm crown series realting to sports watches and divers.

From the side elevation on the watch the wrapped 703 looks good, in the macros and from above - it looks too old!

I might just pop the 704 back on for now and do as Freddy suggests. I have a few more wrapped 703's but all are equally worn - great for old tool watches.

Here it is before the swap, with the 704 set up (on a Rep 93150/580 set up).

This way it looks like it might have sneaked in for a Superluminova service dial, insert and crown swap?

I think we is saying the same thing - best to start from the base up with the movement and calendar wheel, my theory is as follows:

The Rep dial (MBW) is generally configured for an asian or eta movement - in this case 2846

This issue is beat highlighted in the reknown PT vintage sub series with 2846 movements

This is a similar same set up as on a Gen Tudor Sub from the same period with eta movement

However, this set up takes a Tropic 125 

When you have an eta movement, with eta calendar wheel (gen or Asian) the calendar wheel and DWO will always be a little to the CP / left side - due to sizing

The eta configuration is slightly different to a Rolex 1670/1575 - hence why the Gen dial and late after market reworked dials like an NDT Singer (Red shown above) are also to the right, to perfectly match the movement calendar wheel below and 127 Tropic above

The only solution to frig this into something a little better is to find a custom DWO that has the numbers slightly to the right (CG side of case).

If you make a custom DWO on exactly the same circumference and radius as an eta calendar wheel - it will have the correct fonts etc, but will probably still align to the left / CP side. Maybe Andy can chime in on this as he has been working on DWO's recently? 

I am sure you know all this but thought it was worth talking through?

Another option is to try a Tropic 125 on your set up as is - this may place the cyclop more dead centre over your date window at least - then you add a new DWO?

The Clark 125 is ok and cheap enough to try out for approx $10 - be interesting to see what this looks like?

Here are a few shots of my Gen 1979 eta powered Snowy and the Franken 1570 powered 1680 as shown above.....unfortunately I do not have any direct comparisons in my bucket.

On this one you can just make out how the Snowy cyclop is perhaps a little more left/CP sided than the 127? Though I have read elsewhere that the 125 cyclop is more right justified???? (Totally confusing!) The Snowy plexi has a softer radius on the upper edge as well. You can see this on the stacked shot further down - pushing the cyclop inboard as well?

Looks like the old style (Silix?) case for a 21j 2813 cheapie. Elements of this were also found on GMTs with a 6mm crown. But could be totally wrong on that 

Actually not a bad shape side elevation for a 60's 5513 type build? but totally incorrect bezel / case construction. Have you tried to place a 1570 in this case - I doubt it would fit and / or match up with a dial?

Maybe someone will recognise that serial number.

I am getting confused with your left and rights, but I have seen this before and always thought.....

MBW dial is specd to match gen 127 plexi.

As such the cyclops and date window are right justified on this case (as you look at the face they are to the right side, to the CG's )

The eta 2846 calendar wheel is a little left justified as you look at it (to the cannon pinion). A custom/different DWO is the solution. It will never be perfect like say a 1570 under a 127, but it can be a lot better. Best to contact the guys above who are making custom overlays just now?

Is the WholesaleOutlet insert any good? PMWF is kinda expensive @ $65. The WSO insert is only $13. (Disregard the pearl though)

Well if that is the issue it can certainly be replaced..........I have a Landeron 248 having the same repair just now.

Replacement part was approx <£15 from Cousins UK - not sure if they stock a 7734 part - possibly?

LO - the correct OEM bracelet for a '67 7928 with A390 would be a Rivet.

Following that period, most Tudor subs were OEM fitted with the 9315 folded / 380 combo. These are quite hard to find as they often fell apart!

I have found no records anywhere to suggest they were ever OEM fitted with a 93150/580. But it would look great!

I have a Gen 93150/585 set up that I rotate between my Gen Tudor Sub Snowy (1979) and my 1978, 1665 Franken MBW SD. I wear my Snowy on a Jubilee as well and that also looks great - although not correct, many have done so.

The beauty of vintage Rolex/Tudor is that almost anything goes!!! Great piece you have. By the way, I have just ordered a vintage DB10 tan leather 20/16 strap similar to yours above - I am going to try that look as well!

You can really fit and wear what you want - but for authenticity a nice Gen 9315/380 would liook great and certainly be a service centre replacement from the 70's and 80's.

Did I miss it - but which CG did you use?

It looks better than the other 61c CG's I have seen to date - much more correct upper section above the lever.

There are also some NOS vintage generic folded versions out there.........................you can swap the end links and possibly the clasp?

I have come across quite a few old Gen Rolex and Tudor on these non OEM bracelets.

Gen watch - aftermarket plexi looking at condition and distortion

1979 case 903xxx serial - looks correct for that

Aftermarket bracelet and EL's - quite common in Tudor subs as early 9315 folded bracelets fell apart etc

Originally came on a 9315/380 bracelet and end link combo
