  1. I'm sure I'll ruffle some feathers with this comment, but here goes:

The Tag Links, both chrono and regular, might be very good reps, but why buy one of these? You can get a gen for just over $1000 (or the chrono for $1400). Most watches in this price range never make it to the rep stage (Sinn, Fortis, Oris). Frankly, the other watches have much more appeal than Tags found in every department store.

I agree! I see some new reps coming out and when I check the Gen prices they are 1K-2.5K. Tags are pretty common and really nothing special. Why bother?

  2. I think it's a matter of getting it right within reason. We know the movement may not be the same quality but how close can we get and keep the cost the same? How much will it cost to add AR and are we willing to pay for it? Most would pay if it was kept within reason so we would like to have that option because we want to see the face w/o having to turn it different ways to get rid of the reflection. Do correct length hands cost more than incorrect hands? No. Does it cost more to spell a word correctly? Absolutely not. I don't think it's unreasonable to want fewer minor imperfections when it really doesn't require much cost or effort on the part of the people producing the watches. :bangin:

  3. OK... here's one for the non haters. I don't know if larger watches are a trend like bell bottoms or if they are here to stay but I can't wear anything less than 40mm because it feels and looks like a girls watch to me now. The B&R 46 will gain favor I predict with time. The neocons will continue to hate and those who like something cool and different will eat them up. This is a hot watch for any size wrist. B)

  4. Along the same thread.. I'm curious about the manufacturers that are producing these incredible reps. They must have very sophisticated equipment and experience to make these so who the hell are these people and why don't they just design their own brands and sell them to the world? Not that I want them to stop supplying me w/ great reps but I just wonder if they are in some basement full of million dollar manufacturing machines spitting out panny's and rolex's? What's the scoop?

  5. Guys, this is an interesting thread to read....there have to be positive and negative opinions, thats allways the cream on the cake.

I personally like the watch but have to think over and over again, last time I bought a watch that was NO Panny.....I regret it 2 days after paying cause another very interesting watch came out and I have to buy again, damn...don´t wanna have this dilemma again :p

    Theo

I felt the same way. With so many Panny's why get anything else? I just got a pre-ultimate 45 PO and love it and then the B&R. The only dilemma is making more money or reducing expenses so you can get more watches... nothing else matters. Repeat after me.. nothing else matters.. nothing else matters. :bangin:

  6. Well

    ladies and gentleman

This is just the PROTOTYPE and the real thing will definitely be much nicer and refined (without the grease and dirt) LOL...

This Maker has the BEST AR Sapphire technology applied to his watches. Mind Blowing...

You can be rest assured that all the new watches will be available at Joshua and my website.

The list goes on.... and the Makers are ready to pass us these new stuff before X'mas..

    =)

    Enjoy!!

    ANDREW

Before Xmas? That's 18 days Andrew! Can we pay with IOU's??

If we want one under our solstice trees you better hurry them up.. 2 weeks shipping.. that leaves 4 days to release them?

  7. TVT is just having some fun.. it makes the thread more interesting when people with strong opinions express them.. no right or wrong when it comes to taste. Beauty is in the eye of the blah blah blah and all that. Don't count this watch out JD.. I need to measure my wrist but I think it's pretty skinny and the clock looks fine although I have big hands to counter my pencil wrist. I'll take some pics tonight and share them with you so you can judge. I'm liking the 46 PVD Chrono too and the orange is interesting. How do you change the battery in the Quartz movement on this thing? Need to break open my piggy bank now.

  8. Haters!!! I just picked mine up from the PO and wearing it proudly at this moment. My first reaction after putting it on was.. jeeeezz! The lugs are just inside the edge of my wrist so the fit is decent. The strap is pretty good quality but I'm wondering how it would look w/ a 24/24 Bob or pilot w/ double screw rivets. I'm pretty sure I saw these were supposed to have AR... mine missed that process it appears because I can see myself in the glass well enough to shave. I have to say that I love it though.. not something I'd wear w/ a suit and tie but it's a great casual watch and unlike anything out there so A++ for being unique. It's not for everybody... those who lean towards the classic bourgeois rolex subs will hate this masterpiece. Good! Please do not buy one!! Only cool people need apply. B)

  9. I'm surprised there has been no mention of JLC in this thread.

    Here are two candidates:

    158656-12923.jpg

Gotta love this JLC! I've searched for a nice rep of this to no avail. Wish it was a few mm larger though.

Can you list all the popular models that have the intended movements and we can choose from there?

Noobs like me are clueless what drives every watch out there but we know what looks good. :bounce:

  10. I checked out a thread in the expert area and I see to clean or not to clean has been hashed out ad nauseam. I saw pics that The Zigmeister had of 7750 gears and such w/ gunk and it looked pretty scary. Lots of disagreement here and I guess everybody has an opinion. I think that if I had an extra $250 in my pocket for service I'd add it to another $250 for the watch and get a real ETA model :Jumpy: ?

  11. So do the 7750's need to be serviced when we get them or not? I'm still unclear on that point. I'll say this.. if I'm going to be spending $175 everytime they crack open the caseback... I'm going to spend that money on tools and videos so I can do it myself. How difficult is it?
