  1. I think it is our duty to push these dealers that are less than forthcoming to add "Copy" or "Asian" to their descriptions. I'm a noob and I totally expected my B&R to be an ETA (swiss) since they are using "Asian" to describe the other movements. I understood that if the term ETA is used then it's Swiss! If you can't trust people selling fake watches, who can you trust? Hmmm... that didn't sound right. :bicycle:

  2. I too was a graphic designer for almost a decade. I'll be trying stuff, but it'll come down to the taste of the client, PT, as opposed to the effort/skill put in. This always makes for an interesting competition as what purist designers see as cluttered or unbalanced is sometimes what the client wants, and in reverse a perfectly executed simple design might not have anywhere near enough flash and pizzaz for the client./quote]

Thank You Pugwash, I'd like to use this as reason in case I fail to win the watch. My feeling about corporate identity has always been "less in more". :g:

  3. Like JBoy I am also a Graphic Designer with lots of logo experience and it's sad and unfortunate that so many of you are willing to prostitute yourselves for a free watch.. especially since I am also willing. I thought there would be little competition but I see even seminoobs at design are coming up with some really sharp elements. Well done guys.. I'm not even sure if I should try now.

  4. Your life will never be the same. You will lose friends because all you can talk about is movements, sapphire AR and luming. It starts slowly. You're at work and you take breaks to look at your watch. You buy some more an your co-workers notice that you never wear the same watch twice.. "how many freakin watches do you have anyway?" You go on vacation and wonder if any new watches came out while you are at the beach. The bills keep adding up and you have new reps mailed to your office rather than home so the wife won't know. As addictions go this one isn't so bad except that there is no known cure as of yet. My name is morgan, and i am a watchaholic. First step towards recovery..

  5. Its a 090 from pual :thumbsupsmileyanim: thanx ! great watch running great !

    got it for $149 :whistling:

$149 is nice! This is the A02 model w/ the larger power reserve compared to the A01? I'm looking at Trusty's site. How's the crown guard latch... is it beefy or a flimsy sliver of metal?

  6. Merry Winter Solstice to me! I pulled the trig on a B&R 46 CLOCK already so I could be the first on the block to be dissappointed.. (hopefully not). I will report w/ seminoob scratch and sniff review asap. Hope it doesn't hang over the sides of my wrist or get caught in the car door. Did they actually engrave a drawing of screws on the back or did I just imagine that? Oh the humanity.

  7. "morgan: That's a PAM027. I believe thomasng (somehow) still has one at the trading zone here. It has the same movement as the genuine - ETA2892 with Sopras Power Reserve model. I have the PAM028 which also has the same movement. :thumbsupsmileyanim:"

$500!!!! That might be why it's not sold yet? That's a lot of money for a rep regardless of engine. My piggy bank is too small.

  8. Anonimo Militaire.

    http://www.anonimo.com/index.html

Anonimo was founded in Florence, Italy in 1997 by respected designer and entrepreneur Federico Massacesi who had already gained many year’s experience in the field of Luxury Goods for Salvatore Ferragamo SpA. His vision was to create an enterprise specializing in the production of unique Italian timepieces focused on staying true to Florentine watch making tradition. He accepted the challenge therefore to be known worldwide as the most important Italian Company producing high quality mechanical timepieces. Events conspired to set the stage for the realisation of this aim. The takeover by an international group caused a famous Florentine watchmaking house to uproot and move abroad, thus leaving an elite and established team of veteran watchmakers wishing to continue their watchmaking tradition in Florence. Happily this wealth of Florentine watchmaking experience joined forces with Federico Massacesi to form the cornerstone on which Anonimo’s success was built
