Yeah, we got 16 crystals so far. I am thinking wheter to order 20 or 25. Maybe some people will think; man I want one of those crystals, and I still have some stock then.

I got word from the factory, the AR coating they use, is from the same factory that did the AR for Breitling and other big brands.

Those brands bought a few years ago the patent for a new AR coating technique, so what we are getting, is the AR coating Breitling etc used to use.

So, gen like AR on our crystals? You bet!

Just for your info The crystals are made in Holland, then shipped to Switzerland to receive the AR coating in the factory that does AR coatings for brands like Breitling, Omega etc

Never had any problems, always have them shipped with DHL for speedy(2 days from china to NL) deliveries. No customs risk whatsoever.

We definetly want the double AR, the single AR was pretty effective but double AR would just kill it

While updating the list I noted we have 12 crystals so far, if we can make it to 30 we get extra discount. Well any crystal above 20 will give us additional discount due to the setup-fee for the machine.

As far as I know, the small version has the steam-train back, and is expensive. The large manual wind version however is not.

The large version also has the sub seconds dial and the small version doesnt.

I today pressed a 288 mineral into the case I have here, to check that it was the correct size.

It is nice and firm in the existing retainer, so I do think its the way to head. ( The 289 is just too tight!)

The one I test fitted was only a 3mm MG , however I think it proved the correct diameter, as the insert only grips about 3mm anyway!

I hope this is the correct direction to solve this problem.... I certainly think so.

Regarding the crystal problem with the PloProf, I made a inquiry at the local crystal factory.

Specs:

28.80mm Ø 4,5mm thick sapphire

Double side AR coating ( superb AR, from the factory that does AR for Breitling, Omega and other big brands)

Due to the holidays and this being a special order, the delivery time is quite long around 8 weeks.

At this moment I asked for 20 crystals, which will cost €50,- including tax

The following (worldwide) shipping methods are available:

Also, they will sent me a prototype crystal to see if it will fit. However I don't have a PloProf..

I tried soaking in acetone, and then tried water. To no avail, except the delam disappeared!

I believe sfa got his apart, although it had already delaminated pretty badly, and he damaged the MG in doing so.

Haven't heard of any other succesful separations.

It will be interesting to see what price you are offered on an all sapphire!

The other question to still be answered is as to what size it needs to be.

If the factory would do 1 offs, some experimentation would be in order.
