  1. OK who got them? The pair of gen dots have gone already!
  2. Have a look here for good quality parts and info. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...=vintage+insert I have a gen dot too spare, if you want it PM me... EDIT: Follow the ebay link in that thread, and the seller has two dots for sale right now!
  3. Covert operations at you local post office depot! I hope it works out for you........
  4. The CG's look better in that new picture, it must have been the angle the photo was taken. The date mag is too far to the right, but that's a common flaw. You got a great deal, if you get the recommended parts, your laughing....
  5. To me it looks like only the upper CG was opened up a bit. The lower CG stil looks stock, and is covering the crown much more. As mentioned, pick up a insert and maybe a nato strap and you are good to go.....
  6. I was told by Angus, that due to the way the case is constructed, the bezel cannot be removed. So far nobody has proved otherwise.... Cheers
  7. I know the date wheel will fit, and removing the movement with dial from the case does not prove to be that difficult, but taking off the hands etc..... IS tricky and you need the right tools and environment to do it. I would advise you get it done for you by an expert, it should not cost that much.... Cheers
  8. I don't believe it! Seriously though, that's nice of him
  9. I was told by Angus via email, that you can't remove the bezel on the Steelfish, due to the way the watch case was constucted. I would be very interested to hear if anyone HAS managed to remove the bezel, because the bezel is the weakest part of the watch, in regards to the accuracy of the pearl, 15, 30 and 45 markers. Cheers
  10. I got it from a forum member with the hand set, I can't remember who...... I believe it came from www.classicwatchparts.com originally.
  11. Wow Oli you are right! There is VERY faint lume on the dial and hands, very realistic for what should be an old dial. Great stuff!
  12. Ah I never realised that! Thanks for the info. Also this watch has managed to get my Steelfish off my wrist and thats not any easy thing to do!
  13. Yes it seems there was a transitional period from 1978-1980's where they went to the saphire crystal version from the 1665. May not be accurate, but it is unique and I like the colour of the hour markers and hands. The CG's were opened up by Oli, I also took off some more on the bottom of the CG's and smoothed the insides. The crown is gen as is the pearl. The insert is a great aftermarket insert that looks gen to my eys Then of course there is the Ubi datewheel, that looks FANTASTIC. It really adds a great deal to the watch, over the standard MBW overlay The crystal is aftermarket too, but looks better than the stock MBW version. Oli drilled the lugholes and installed decent looking springbars. His work is top draw for sure
  14. I never noticed that before on the dial, 4000ft/1220m I can't seem to find much info about the dial. I will continue looking, good spot polexpete!
  15. Just got this watch back from my good friend Oli. There are new parts all over this watch, I think it would be more fun to have you guys point them out What do you think about this beauty? Cheers
  16. I am glad it al worked out for you. I would have been suprised if the HDD was corrupt, like I said they are pretty tough Did you get the enclosure style usb caddy, or the other type? Great result either way
  17. Damn what bad timing, I am skint!
  18. Have a peak over here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry221089 EDIT: I will add the pictures here too: Cheers
  19. Yes I forgot all about this thread Whats the news Kenberg!?
  20. Well don't buy the $328 version then as you would be throwing money away. Hell you can get the Breitling Steelfish for LESS than that and it's a vastly superia watch in every way. If you really must get a modern Sea-Dweller just get the cheapest ETA version you can locate..............
  21. Yep if there was a good modern Sea-Dweller I would own it If only the rep makers realised there is a big hole in the market waiting to be filled
  22. If Rivers is decent then it should NOT use a Submariner case with a thicker case back, a common trick to make out the watch is matching the gens dimensions. More importantly it should have a thicker bezel like the genuine, which is something I have NEVER seen on a Sea-Dweller replica. Cheers
  23. Inaccurate and expensive. The only Sea-Dweller worth getting is a MBW vintage 1665.
