  1. Any chance of a price check please? I've had a few PM's and would like to know what I should be looking for price wise, in case I decide to sell. I have seen these fetch a fair bit before, when fully upgraded like this one.... Cheers!
  2. Thanks very much indeed jitai, it looks to me like DSN's crystal is producing the same magnification, no need to fret over it for me!
  3. Ah you live an learn, thanks for the info guys! So this is a Honpo PAM029, so who is he then, not a name I remember really!?
  4. Thanks panerai153, these are definitely rare, I wonder how many of the 2893 old school reps were actually made? Could be a similar run to the gen! Anyone have some pictures of their old school 29/63 with a chief cyclops or similar please? I want to see how the DSN crystal stacks up, but can't find any pictures..... Cheers!
  5. Here is a picture of my case back, it is thick and heavy, numbered B076/500
  6. First and foremost, a big thanks to our resident watch guru Domi for all his patience and help with me and this watch, this piece wouldn't exist without him! This is an old school, thick case backed ETA2893 based PAM029, I believe from Eddie Lee originally. I have it mounted on a beautifully soft genuine great white shark strap. I've had a finepics date wheel installed, a 6mm one piece DSN crystal, and a T48 crown. The dial and hands are superlumed too (by finepics?). The crown guard is superb, if they could still be replicated like this, all our auto PAM's would be near perfect! Enough chat, here are some pictures, click to expand: I am so pleased with how this turned out, I don't think there is anything left to tweak or change, maybe I could give the case a nice polish, but aside from that, it's done! As I mentioned before, the crown guard is the best I have ever seen, matching the cases curvature perfectly, nice and thick too. Why there are so many aftermarket old style CG's is beyond me, we need an auto CG to be made just like this one! I tried it on a genuine OEM rubber strap, but strangely because the lugs were long enough for the strap to move freely (unlike DSN's cases), it didn't sit well on my smaller wrist, whereas DSN's cases/lugs would hold the rubber strap firmly, at an angle, to produce a better fit for me. However, the shark strap is awesome, so no loss there What do you guys think, yay, or nay!?
  7. I heard DSN was going to change the cyclops for a smaller one in the next run? All you really need is an upgraded thicker date wheel, a new CG and T48 crown...... I like the look of the 25D, due to the ti case and superlumed dial/hands
  8. From the browsing I have done, I think the cyclops looks to be 6mm on the gen, definitely smaller than the rep anyway I really like the 025D, I wish I could afford one!
  9. A shame this happened, but it seems like it will force your hand to get the ETA date disc swap done, a worthwhile mod
  10. Some of my A7750 watches have done this before, can you not gently bump the case to pop the date fully over?
  11. I wish I still had mine, but I am unemployed right now, my head ruled my heart, I needed to sell her The OEM strap is a great way to finish the watch off, you can fin them on TZ and other forums for real cheap sometimes, especially the rubber Panerai straps
  12. Nicely done, looks great, but how about finding an OEM strap to finish the look off?
  13. Yeah, I would have assumed it was gold throughout, but thanks to Mary for the new case back I tried to scratch the gold ceramic case back with a key, but couldn't, but the ceramic is brittle though where the screws go through.....,
  14. I don't know why I bother watching when the results are fixed like this, heaven forbid that an actual race breaks out! Alonso is a complete tool.......
  15. Thanks, just took it off my wrist, replaced by my old school Breitling Chrono Avenger franken
  16. Pictures would be a great help in this situation
  17. On a side note, why not set up a moneybookers account if you can and pay DSN with that? The fees are virtually non existent ( like 1.0-1.5% ). Takes a few days to set up, but when finished you can upload and send funds without the huge Moneygram/Western Union fees..... Cheers
  18. No the screws weren't damaged, but two were too small in diameter, check the original review from the link in the first post and you will see what I mean This is the only watch I own with a gold finish, but it is not full gold, or overpowering, so I like it. Plus the other gold plated reps would wear away, which is something I can't be bothered to deal with, that won't be a problem with this watch
  19. Been wearing it since I received the new bezel screws and replaced them
  20. Looks great, nice pictures, thanks for sharing I don't usually put Swiss 7750's into my watches, did it a couple of times before in the past and realised it is not really necessary if the Asian movement is running well, like you say. However with this Swiss ETA7750 it was just sitting in a drawer doing nothing, much better to make use of it, than the low beat A7750
