  1. Yep, very rewarding too! TTK was a [censored], good riddance. I still remember the illegal lock and flick knives he sold into the UK, he lied and said they were legal. Knives are very far removed from rep watches.....
  2. There OK, nothing to write home about! Sorry, I'll get my coat...........
  3. Nice Chrono Avenger, where did you buy it? Tony from www.asian7750.com has been great for sourcing parts for me, Breitling dials/hands, Chopard parts and even Hublots dials, hands and double AR'ed crystals!
  4. I was thinking "Oh no! I should have purchased the titanium version, not the 027a", but having looked at it, I am not so fond of it, and the etched case back (not engraved) is a deal breaker for sure...... I usually prefer titanium PAM's, but not this time
  5. My crown stem screwed too far into the T48 crown, but it was simple to fix that
  6. Nice find Is it flat on the underside, and curved on the top? Or just flat on both the top an bottom? Let me know if you find any more The only issue left with mine, is the crown pin position being too low
  7. Sweet watch, I love mine too! Where did you find that new crown guard please? It looks closer to the gen for sure!
  8. When you buy a secs@12 watch, or any Asian 7750 based timepiece for that matter, you should really factor a full service and regulation into the price Asian 7750 movements come from the dealers un-oiled, or over oiled, un-regulated, not serviced, and usually "dirty". They will need proper servicing regardless, if you really love the watch and want it to be a keeper Cheers!
  9. Thanks, I asked Aaron if he had a strap "ready" to ship, in the style I wanted, fortunately he did, so no 3-6 month wait for me! Aaron makes real high quality straps, I should have a brown one in the same style arriving soon, I managed to snap that one up off an RG member for only $60, heaven knows why nobody else purchased it at that price!
  10. If you put a decent strap on your 027a I bet you would keep it! The HKTAN large cut croc strap made a world of difference to my watch too, not just the crown DSN's straps are "functional" at best
  11. Not much interest, I thought peeps were waiting to see if this worked? If you look at the gen crown, and it's position, it does look very close now, better than the DSN crown.... Notice the distance between case and T crown, it looks very similar, with the same gap I should have taken a picture at the same angle, but take my word for it, it looks the same!
  12. Here is my updated DSN 027a There are a few more shots in the Panerai area too
  13. I have updated the first post with some T48 sweetness, and a little bit of HKTAN'ness thrown in for good measure Please let me know your thoughts regarding the update!
  14. A few new big watch releases will revitalize the scene Like a pre-2000 Rolex Daytona with secs@9 and the new A7750 mod, release one already! So far they have done nothing of interest with this new subdial layout A7750, just watches with dates so far under the dial as to be invisible
  15. Sweet looking watches, great photo skills too! I wish I could live with the Graham watches style, but I just don't think I would wear one....
  16. I'm not going anywhere Lani, and I do really appreciate the hard work involved behind the scenes
  17. Well it's no secret I do not like the new forum, I much prefer the old one The "new post" option does not seem to work as well, the two different options either leave me with no posts, or loads of posts, while still managing to miss some too! Lots of old threads and pictures are missing, and the search feature does not work as well. Plus my 36 100% positive feedback is totally gone. The general layout and feature set is not as intuitive, and or overly complex Add these facts to the worldwide economic problems, the lack of decent new rep releases to discuss, and a slow down is inevitable..... When a member like "hava" posts an excellent write up of DSN's 028 and nobody replies to it for over a day, you know something is clearly wrong. In fact the search feature to find "my posts" did not find it, proving that there is something clearly wrong with the software.... I hope it gets fixed, but for me this place is just not the same any more.....
  18. Not sure, I found the pictures from an ebay sale, they look very dark blue to me I thought there was a forum member with a genuine of this exact watch, but I can't find the thread anywhere......
  19. This is the one we want! If it can be made with the solid case back and steel bracelet, it will sell by the bucket load!
  20. I like the bracelet, but where is the silver dial version already?!
  21. The lume on my 027a is not so bright, but it does last for a very long time, like the gen would (being a ten year old watch using tritium lume)... The modern DSN 027b uses C1+C3 superlume (same as the gen), so the lume will be brighter than the 027a Have a peak here: http://www.paneristi.com/archives/PreA_Panerai/Pre_A_Panerai.html
  22. Hiya tomH, it certainly stays glued to my wrist! Thanks again!
  23. I simply don't even click on attached files any more, unless I must, they are always way too large, due to the page zoom I use with firefox (1900x1200 24" monitor requires this) Imageshack's thumbnail system works very well for me
  24. Well it seems DSN has released the B series versions now too! Also, the T60 crown was too thick, it hit the inside of the CG, I don't think I will bother with the T45, I am happy with it "as is".... Thanks TomH for regulating the watch for me! Cheers!
  25. I really dislike the rubber strap, the lug > rubber/metal/rubber design looks strange, and I know it will not fit my smaller wrist well.....
