  1. I thought that I had finally been able to give up replica watches-----but then you see one that grabs you where it hurts! I stumbled across this Rolex 1940 flyback ( I don't know it's proper title ) on a couple of of dealers sites but it's been sold out. Kingwatch has still got it listed but there are no details as to price or availability. I'm waiting patiently for a reply to my e-mail. Has anybody here bought one? I know it will have a lemania movement and it would be around 40mm diameter. Any information will be gratefully received. Happy Easter
  2. That's what I thought but needed confirmation. Thanks for your help bertieng Now, does anybody know where I can get parts for for an asian 7750?
  3. Hi all, I need some help here. The crown on my Rolex Chrono has come off the stem. I have done some searching as to how it fixes back but cannot find a satisfactory answer. Most threads say that the crown screws on to the stem but as can be seen in my picture there is no thread to screw onto. Has the stem snapped inside the crown or does it fit in some other way? The movement is the older asian 7750. I have found a link to a watch suppliers, Cousins Material House. Here it's possible to get replacement crowns and stem extensions but I cannot figure out the type or size that I need. Any help or suggestions will be gratefully received.
  4. Opinions please. I e-mailed & asked for the serial number to check it through Panerai & he's replied that he hasn't the receipt so hasn't the number. Auction
  5. 4 asia7750 movements so far & all with problems. I've stopped buying them & will only now go for hand winds. I'm totally fed up with sh*te watches. Look out for my sales in the next week or few.
  6. eBay Link I don't know enough about about Pams to know if this is a gen but everything else about this auction screams fake.
  7. I've seen this model on the davidsen site & didn't like it but somehow your watch works. Nice one.
  8. This isn't a directly related Panerai topic but may be of interest to some. I came across these Poljot watches for sale on eBay all using the Molnija movements: Poljot Watches Has anybody on the board bought one? The price seems very good value compared to similar motored reps & I imagine that it even comes serviced!
  9. Here's a seller that may interest you: eBay auction
  10. I Love the Poljot as well and very nearly bought one of these. The styling is a rip off from a 60's Rolex chronograph (pre Daytona). I found available a rep of the original Rolex for very much the same price as the Poljot & bought that instead.
  11. I'm going to get the back off this watch some time soon & post some pics of the movement, perhaps somebody will be able to identify it for me. I bought the watch on the CQout auction site from a seller called "The Watch Store", has anybody else had any dealings with him? Here is the posted watch description: "THE MOVEMENT IS THE ETA-2824-25j AUTOMATIC WITH CHRONOGRAPH . THE WATCH IS AN EXACT REPLICA OF THE ORIGINAL WATCH. IT HAS A SOLID STAINLESS STEEL BACK AND IS ENGRAVED WITH THE WORDS 'CHRONOGRAPHE CERTIFIE CHRONOMETRE, MANUFACTURE EN SUISSE ETANCHE 300M'. IT HAS THE REGISTRATION NUMBERS E13360 AND 644082 AND BREITLING 1884 AND THE BREITLING WINGS LOGO RAISED IN THE CENTRE. THE FACE IS A VERY DISTINCTIVE CLEAN SHARP WHITE AND HAS A PERMANENT SECOND HAND AT 9 O’CLOCK. HOUR MARKERS ARE LUMINOUS COATED AS ARE ALL THREE HANDS. THE CASE IS A SUPERB FINISH HIGHLY POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL AND MEASURES 44MM EXCLUDING THE LUGS AND CROWN AND IS A MASSIVE 16MM DEEP. THE CROWN HAS THE BREITLING LOGO. THE STRAP IS SUPER QUALITY HEAVY THREE LINK STAINLESS STEEL AND IT HAS A LOCK ON THE DEPLOYMENT CLASP FOR SAFETY. THE DEPLOYMENT FASTENING IS MARKED BREITLING 1884 WITH THE BREITLING WINGS LOGO. ADJUSTMENT TO THE STRAP LENGTH IS MADE BY THE CORRECT THREADED TWIN BOLTS AND NOT PUSH PINS AS ON THE CHEAPER VERSIONS OF THIS WATCH. WHAT MORE CAN BE SAID ABOUT THIS WATCH. IT IS AN EXTREMELY ACCURATE REPLICA, MANUFACTURED TO THE SAME DIMENSIONS, USING THE SAME COMPONENTS AND WITH A SUPERB MOVEMENT EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL. YOU COULDN’T GET BETTER. THIS WATCH IS AS GOOD AS YOU CAN GET WITHOUT BUYING THE ORIGINAL AND SPENDING THOUSANDS OF POUNDS." A very convincing description when you're still new to the replica game.
  12. Hi You may have a point here. This watch has been lying in a draw unloved for over a year now & I've never seriously investigated it. I bought it from the CQOut auction site and it was sold as a Super Avenger. I can't see the difference between an Avenger and a Super Avenger just by studying photos but anyway, this case is 44mm in diameter. The movement was again described as an ETA 2824 and I paid a premium price because of it. Is there a problem with this movement? I'm happy to take in any comments.
  13. Here's the area I'm talking about. Why I'm dissapointed is that there are better Moonwatch reps out there than this one.
  14. This case is wrong. Compare the pics to the many other Speedmasters & you'll see the area (sorry I don't know the technical term) between the straps, where the springbars fit, is wrong. On this model it has been machined flat where it should be a fluted curve finish. I can't describe it any better, just check out other pictures. Also the crown is wrong with the guards not deep enough. I have the exact same model and have been horrified to see how badly this rep is detailed. Unless of course I've got it all wrong?
  15. Send me your address please, I've a few movements I want to get serviced
  16. I've just posted some pics of my ETA powered Super Avenger in the Breitling section. I bought mine about two years ago & paid considerably more than this watch. I deliberately went for this model over the asian powered one thinking I was buying better quality. The watch ran for 6 months before stopping. My local repairer was able to get the watch working but not the sub-dials, his comments were scathing about the general quality of the movement & how it was fitted. Of course this has nothing to do with your watch but it does confirm the pot-luck nature of buying reps. Be prepared for it's weight, mine is a shade under 8oz or 1/2 pound. You'll need a fairly chunky wrist to carry it off (no pun intended)
  17. Right, a few pics of my Super Avenger. I've had this one a couple of years now and it was my first high-end replica. Steel body (of course) ETA 2824-25J auto movement with working sub-dials (well they used to, but that's another story). Not a bad copy but flaws can be found. It's rarely worn now as it's weight can be annoying, a shade under 1/2 pound. These pics are my first few attempts. I've not had the time yet to cncentrate fully on them.
  18. My mouth is watering & my wallet is already open. Details please.
  19. Studying the pic in my 2005 catalogue it looks as if the minute hand may be too short. The Spitfire chronograph face appears to be much more accurate.
  20. This hasn't got a stop-watch function has it? The dials would be day/date/24 hour.
  21. Here’s my first picture posting, I think I've got it figured out. These were taken a couple of years ago, I no longer have the watch. I bought it on eBay direct from a Chinese dealer. It’s the Asian automatic movement with the 24hr indicator at 6, the day at 9 & the month at 3. The bezel rotated but the slide-rule markings weren’t fine enough for an accurate reading. I got two watches for £50 including postage & Western Union charges. This one worked fine, the other packed up within a week. I’ve included a picture of the genuine article, displayed in a shop window in London’s New Bond Street. As you can see the face isn’t very accurate but for the price it was a bargain. I tried another Chinese dealer direct the next month but he kept my money without sending the watch so I gave up that avenue of buying. You learn by your mistakes.
  22. Thanks everybody, I'm going to enjoy myself here.
  23. Hi everyone I’ve been a member since August but have been hiding in the shadows till now. I’m living in London and have been totally impressed with this site. Until I stumbled across it I hadn’t realised how many other people shared the same passion for replicas. I got my first replica (Breitling Emergency) about 7 years ago in London’s Brick Lane market & have since shopped around on internet sites, eBay, CQOut & QXL. I’m now ready to buy from one or more of the dealers here. I try not to collect & prefer to only keep 4-5 watches at any time, trading when necessary. So I’d better start posting to build a reputation. I'll be posting pictures for your entertainment as soon as find some. Good health to you all. Steve
