  1. Just checking in folks, this topic might have been discussed before but I can really appreciate some help on this. I have a great looking watch that is sidelined and Im itching to wear it. Your support is really appreciated here!
  2. Hello folks, I know this topic has been discussed a while ago but I wanted to ask about the P9000 ( I cant tell if its V1 or V2) movement since all I can find is from 2014 or so. The issue seems similar to what others experienced, the watch started to lose reserve time and I had to manually wind it a few times and it eventually stopped all together. I did what some suggested and opened the case back to look for loose screws and such, I was able to see that one of the screw securing the movement was loose but was still seated in its place and nothing else. My question is, are there any long term fixes for this issue? Can you recommend someone for repairing this movement? I dont mind sending it out, I just need to figure out to whom. Also, has anyone swapped this movement to something else more reliable successfully? I really like the watch and I hate that its in this shape. Thank you in advance, Cheers,
  3. Thanks for the reply guys, good to know its a common issue. If you can provide me with more details it would greatly appreciated.
  4. Hey guys, I've had a DSSD that I purchased from Trusty a while back and Im having some issues with the movement that I want to pick your brain about. For starters, this watch keeps epic time, I have sunced it to my phone a few times and monitored it and Im really impressed with how good it is. Having said that, I have been noticing that the date wheel changes at about the 7 hour marker than the usual 12. Som Im assuming that the date wheel moved but Im not sure how it can just slide like that. The other weird thing that is happening, which started at the same time as the date whel issue, is that I would look at the watch in the morning and the hour/minute hands seem stuck at the point where the date wheel is switching (about the 5-7 hour marker) and the seconds hand is still going. Not until I manually move the hour hand to change the date over to the next day that the watch functions correctly again, until of course the next morning. Any thoughts? Also, who do you recommend to service Rolexes on the forum? I live in Canada but I wouldnt mind shipping it to a passionate perfectionist to breath a new life into it. I just bought a new bezel insert from Toro as well since I lost the pearl on mine - for the second time! Fady
  5. wow this is a great tutorial. so you just gently push the insert in, no glue of any kind? Thanks again!
  6. Thanks Deckard, very useful info, I emailed Andrew and I'll wait and see what he says, worst case scenario, I get the ceramic insert. Is the insert easy to pop out? I'll wait on any other mods for now. Does anyone know how much a gen pearl costs? it wouldnt be a bad idea to replace it with a real one !!
  7. Hello folks, I have an issue with my SDDS that i purchased from Trusty a while back. The watch is great, feels awesome, and keeps very good time. However, the pearl on the bezel fell off and Im not sure how to go about fixing this. I know I can get a new bezel from andrew but there is always a chance that it doesnt fit. i lived that scenario with my Panari. Do you guys know how I can source a replacement pearl? You're help is much appreciate, Fady I attache d a pic of the watch too
  8. not sure why the font got jacked on the previous reply! Sorry
  9. Doesnt AP ask for proof of purchase or serial numbers or such? you can just walk in and buy a strap? If so, I wouldlove to get a gen rubber, never mind the hornback, too much money. But I was also wondering if you think some of the aftermarket straps are better than the factory especially for leather?
  10. hey edgematic, I read your review of the AP Diver and its fantastic, where can I find an ETA 2846, Im kind of a stickler like you for the finer details. Also, where would you recommend I look for straps rubber or leather that would be closer to gens. Is it easy to get gen straps? Sorry for the many questions, Im relatively new to the AP world! Thanks in advance
  11. Would someone has any ideas on how to fabricate one, or maybe fabricate a different solution??
  12. In the spirit of this topic...maybe someone can clarify something for me. It has been my understanding that you need a gen watch in order to replicate it, how else do they do it when a gen watch is not available? it cant be by looking at photos?? Do they have blue prints for these watches? just curious...
  13. Hello, I am looking for the click spring that enables the uni-directional ratcheting movement of the bezel on my cheapo 42 mm PO. I lost it while trying to replace the bezel cover. If anyone has a spare to sell me or knows where I can get one, it would be greatly appreciated. My only other option is to get a case set from Andrew for $78 or buy a new watch. Fady
  14. Hey guys, I was looking around eBay for a PO bezel and came across this store!! It says they sell Panarai sapphire crystals but I am not sure which one would fit a PAM 253! Its worth checking out, the prices are not so bad. Some actually come AR coated already! http://stores.shop.ebay.ca/WHOLESALEOUTLET990_SAPPHIRE-CYRSTAL-FOR-PANERAI_W0QQ_fsubZ782841010QQ_sidZ268970040QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322 Cheers
  15. Hey what do you think of this CG ?? http://cgi.ebay.ca/PAM-CROWN-BRIDGE-PANERAI-WATCH-44MM-47MM-PART-/310218648200?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item483a78ea88
