  1. Well, I am now a happy owner of a 111H with updated CDG movement. The 111H is from Natalie, though I did not order directly from her. It was another member who actually ordered it from her, and I ended up just buying it from him. It's a long story, but anyway here's the details . . .

    - The ETA movement is decorated very nicely. The CDG engraving is a major improvement over the previous version. Also has the seventeen jewel engraving. Needle is the fat one, characteristic of the 'working' swan neck.

    - CG is brushed and fits nicely against the case. Lever was floppy, but I fixed that by inserting a small piece of rubber in the hole in the lever - feels like gen now (really). Also, I made the lever pivot pin flush with the top of the CG, and brushed the top of the pin like the rest of the CG - so it all looks very uniform.

    - Crown is better than the early 111H's, but not quite thick enough. Looking directly at the watch, the crown appears to have a nice thickness. But, at an angle, the chamfered or rounded edges make the crown appear thin. In short, better but not quite thick enough.

    - Lume sucks big time.

    - Strap. Surprisingly good - better than early rep straps. The brown strap has a nice thick pad, and the stitching is very nice. Not an Xamas, but you can at least wear it out of the box and not feel like an ass.

    - Recessed pin is still there, though not as deep as before. You really have to look close to notice. The hour/minute hands are black anyway, so it tends to hide what little shadow there is from the recess. Even at a sharp angle, you can see most of the top of the pin - so it really is an improvement.

    - Crystal is synthetic sapphire AND is very nicely AR'd.

    - Case is thicker than the previous 111H case. Polish is very high and looks great. I spotted a couple of roughly finished (though highly polished) edges along a couple of the lugs. I took care of this immediately with some dremel work.

    - CG screws are bigger, with very robust looking threads.

    - Also, nothing is misspelled anywhere on the watch. OFFICINE PANERAI engraving on the movement is crisp.

Well, that's it for now. I know pics will do better than anything I've described. I'll try to take care ot that tomorrow guys.

Hey...Is this the one that is coming my way??

    Can't wait!

  2. I was so excited about recieving my Davidsen 195 in the mail today, I thought I might take a few quick photographs. I was too lazy about taking the wide angle lens off the camera so you're going to have to bear through "fish-eye" hell. I was hoping a watch I ordered from Andrew last week would also arrive since I ordered them the same day. Enough complaining from me. Hope you enjoy these.

Well, it is for sale or trade if someone does want a little project watch. I am looking for one of the 2006 SeaDwellers or one of the newer DRSDs, or one of the latest Lv Subs.....Send me mail.

  4. just checking out bob's newest, and maybe raspiest... but completely enjoyable album, MODERN TIMES. it's folksy, laid back, upbeat, somehow familiar and completely lacking in pretense. kinda music you need at high volume when you're flying across the countryside in a dated convertible... just kinda rambles along, some with a nice story line, and plenty of turn-of-phrases. sometimes that's what i think bob's lyrics are... a chain of cleverly crafted turn of the phrases. i haven't listened to dylan for 20 or 30 years, so i've missed plenty... anything else in the discography i should pay attention to?

Get the Biograph, three-disc box set. Has a great selection of the best of Bob.

  5. Hello Incursor welcome around.

to answare your question lot of usual meber here also have genuine watch (not speaking for the peolple that just find this site to buy a submariner rep and go away).

you'll find out that lot of people here are basicaly watch freaks and some of them watch expert.

of course not everybody can afford a 196 that goes around 5k€ on after market, but wou will find plenty of base pam /rolie/ omega owner and people collecting vintage or less know quality watch.

    see ya around ..

I have both kinds. If you appreciate quality timepieces, you can appreciate good reps and well as the "genuine" articles. The lines continue to blur between the two.
