  1. big congrats on a very good choice and a refined taste :good: ,

the Cartier signature sure gives the watch a story and a nice camouflage!! ,

I am sure any body how inspects the watch would ask about the Cartier signature and the story behind it rather than giving attention if it is a Gen or a rep :D

How big is your wrist? Are you ok with the EXPI size

  2. my vote : Explorer or Date Just -

the Airking is too small with 34mm.

but they are all nice ;)

    Frank

    Hi Frank ,

you are right about the Gen AK it is 34mm , but in the "rep world :D "it is 36 to 37mm,

which made my conceder it , I have 7.5" wrist :o

    thanks and cheers

  3. Thank you all for your responses so far :good:

So far it is an even split between the EXPI and the AK :g: ,

I do like them both and that is the problem, I would get them booth but I feel that 2 36mm watches in my collection is quit enough

  4. Dear all ,

I need your help to decide between the following:

    Explorer I

    post-2882-1212316506_thumb.jpg

Air King engine turned bazel + acrylic crystal

    post-2882-1212316334_thumb.jpg

Datejust engine turned bazel + acrylic crystal

    post-2882-1212316393_thumb.jpg

I want classical elegant looking watch that dose not scream Rolex

The plan is to wear it with a suite Italian style " I know that the vintage air king is very much in now in Italy :p "

My YachtMaster walks 2 min before me into any room

  5. So we have the BigBang , but why not the Hublot classic , it is a gorgeous watch in its own merit ,

    post-2882-1209888975_thumb.jpg

It is 42mm, uses ETA 2892 , simple date , no fancy anything , and who ever reped the BigBang case , repping this case would be a walk in the park for him .

It is also much more believable at 4000$ rather than it

  6. Found this:

    http://watchsilix.com/product.asp?id=1966

I would really like the new""simple" Da Vinci with a ETA 2824 in it........

    Let's see what will happen.

    Q.

See , now I really cant understand dealers/rep makers ,

We get the complicated Aqua Timer with the rotating inner Bezel and the Pilot chrono , would we get the simple Mark XVI ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NO :bangin:

We get one of the most complicated IWC watches ever produced , with the fancy 8 hands , moon phase and perpetual calendar ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, will we get the Simple new Da vinci ?????

    Sorry for venting ;)

    Cheers

  7. I have 5:

    Speedy Moon

    Black SMP (full size auto)

    Vintage SM300

Vintage (late '50s?) solid gold Seamaster

    Dynamic date (80s)

If I could keep only 1 it would be the Speedy Pro, followed by the SMP. In fact they're probably listed in order of preference.

I wouldn't buy the gen PO as I think that they are too trendy / faddish and the SMP is altogether a nicer watch. Mind you I have an orange UPO which gets a reasonable amount of wrist time.

    My Dear PAMman ,

Your list is somthing out of a wet dream :D

and I have to agree with you on the moony and the PO :good:

    cheers
