  1. btw, time changes by moving the crown counter clockwise. All the watches I've had are the opposite: time moves forward by rotating the crown clockwise. But I also got an Omega Speedy Date and it works the same way, so I guess this is probably something to do with Asian movements? Thanks again.
  2. What do you mean by wing it by hand? Do you mean when I change the time?
  3. I got my 5002 yesterday. First rep. Visually it is stunning (aside from the strap, of course)! Nevertheless, I notice that the winding sound is pretty loud, to the point that I can hear it after the slightest move of my hand in a quiet environment. Watch is keeping good time AFAIK and the power reserve is decent. Is this normal with this model (faux PW) or is something wrong with my watch? Doesn't seem to me that there are any loose screws, it's just the winding movement that is very loud. Wanted to make sure before writing my dealer.
  4. I understand why you would want to get AR coating, but I don't see the big deal with modding your reps with lume, unless the expense is minimal, but I don't think it is. Anyway, what's the big deal with lume? Sure, looks cool, but I hardly appreciate the lume in my gen Seikos, so I don't see why I should invest in lume for a dress watch like an IWC for example. I guess it's a savior if you go to the theatre, but my daily activities are always in well lighted places. Can you guys give me some insight on why this is so popular among the group? Little drunk and tired so I hope I didn't offend anyone
  5. Thanks for all the advice. Exactly the sort of info I wanted to hear. I don't have a gf or wife. Buying a gen is out of the question for now. I will order 2 or 3 at a time since I can get free shipping that way. I will also let the dealer know I plan on buying more watches from him in the future. That, hopefully, will motivate him to do a little QC. Thanks again!
  6. Hi. I've been reading non stop for two weeks. I'm completely hooked. Want your advice. I plan on purchasing maybe 10 watches. UPO, Speedy Date, Railmaster, 3717, Portu, SOSF, BCE, VC Overseas, and a couple of more. Should I purchase all of them at the same time? Or should I order a couple at a time? I'm in the US and planned on purchasing from hunt because so far he's offered the best deal and got dealer of the year in another forum. He also says that if custom takes the watches he will replace free of charge. I think that by ordering them all at the same time I will get a better deal and maybe the dealer thinks I'm a good client and will give me decent QC, but I guess that's just wishful thinking. Thoughts? Thanks!
