Come on, that is a Guangzhou special, surely??
I think that it is genuine. It is dirty, and the photos are not very good, but I don't think it is a replica.
By the way, what is wrong with the one you got from silix?

Great photos!

That was an interesting review of your watch, thanks.

A review of one of the most famous toolwatches ever.
I only just found this, I am blown away.
Great review.

Amazing review, thanks for your time.

Great review of one of the most sought-after watches in the world.
This is my only Daytona replica. The Seagull ST-19 powered 6263. (modded with the 6 o'clock subdial frozen) A compact, heavy rep with a solid feeling.
Nice.
Great review too by the way.

Afternoon all! Long time admirer, first time poster here, with all the usual "Newbie" questions im sure!! Having read a lot of your posts and reviews I must firstly say "thanks" for the insight into the world of rep watches. I have been looking to buy a Speedmaster "Moonwatch" replica for a while now and on the advice of these forums have found a few sites that offer varying models. Im quite keen on the glass back model and hoped for some advice foremostly on, 1) Where i can purchase the best example replica of this watch? and 2) Is the watch at this LINK
a particularly good example and what are the obvious flaws as the price seems very reasonable?
I know some of you have been promoters of Andrew's work and I have read a lot of good things about the service he offers, but can anyone also advise if I would be likely to incur any extra charges for having the watch shipped to the UK (over and above his postage charge) I.e. some kind of duty charge.
Sorry for all the questions, but Im sure im in the right place for some quality answers!
Thanks in advance!!
The version he shows in your link is no longer available. All the dealers show the photos of this one, but if you question them about it, they cannot get it anymore.
It is a shame because this one was more accurate to the full size genuine watch. The version that you can buy at the moment is more like the speedmaster 'reduced' version.
There are dealers in the UK if you are worried about shipping. I have bought from the far east several times in the past and had no unexpected problems using registered airmail, which takes about 10 days.

Your watch looks great, I enjoyed the story of this watch too.

It is faux chrono..!
I know. I'm not really bothered about that for the price. I am more concerned about how it looks.
-
I am tempted to get one of these with my next order, I was wondering what the quality is like.
Also, I am looking to avoid the sunken datewheel issue, so am looking at the 12-9-6 version.
Thanks.

Search the forum for 'garryflex', and you will find all you need to know.

REP, that goes for the box too.

Why? You can get a gen Omega box with papers for free from Omega Support.
Really?

Thanks for your reply, but I don't think that this is my poblem.
The tube and the crown do not fit together, I have been told to 'broach the pendant'. It is as if the centre of the tube is too narrow.
I don't think that this is the same thing as tapping.
-
Yes... you need a special tool to do it.
vmena, can you tell me which tool you would use for this? Thanks for your help.
-
I baught a generic cown and tube and have been told by the seller that in order for the 2 parts to fit together -
"You have to broach out the pendant to make the crown fit"
I have no idea what this means.
I looked on wikipeadia and it seems like broaching is somthing like using a file.
Any help is appreciated....

Are you talking about a rolex specific catalogue?
-
Avitt, I tried to PM you but you box is full. Can you tell me more about the book that these pics come from? Thanks.
-
Gave me excuse to take pics of my reps.
Just for my own interest - Is the box, paperwork, tags etc all replca?
Thanks.

Toothbrush and washing up liquid for cleaning.
Use a cape cod cloth to remove any scratches from polished areas, a medium garryflex pad will restore the brushed look to a SS band.
-
I don't know specifically about rolex movements, but I bet they all are the same.
And -- thanks to the Tao -- asian stem use to be standard size as all stems: 0.90mm for auto movements, 1.20 mm for manual movements.
Thanks.

Greetings to all from London, UK!
Welcome. I have only Asian versions, they are great value for money.
-
I am looking to replace some of the crowns on my Rolex reps with OEM or genuine parts. It just occurred to me that they may not fit on the stem of the asian movements.
Does anyone know about this?
Cheers.

I was wondering if there is an alternative?
Thanks.
Chinese movements

I contacted Cousins to ask if they had datasheets for the Chinese movements that they sell, but I was told that all the info they had was on their website.
Does anybody know where I might get assembly data for any of these movements?
Thanks.
