  1. The anniversary Milgauss will have a green glass on the black dial version only and will cost an extra $350 US. It will not be limited. The Milgauss is true to its name and is resistant to 1,000 Gauss once more; it uses the classic Faraday Cage construction, only this time the dial is not part of the cage, it sits on top of the soft iron movement enclosure. The main reason Rolex can guarantee the anti-magnetic resistance of the watch is the new Parachrom-Blu hairspring which is completely unaffected by electro-magnetic forces. But several escapement parts and one wheel are made from a new and undisclosed alloy which is as resistant as the hairspring. Both the Milgauss and the GMT Master II have 40mm cases and this is the new size for all Rolex pieces from now on. The bracelet with the new clasp and the half link summer expansion piece will become standard across the line; even extending to the watches with diver's extension pieces. The big news is that Rolex will cease production of non-chronometer watches, the no-date Submariner, the Air King, the ladies Date model will now all be fitted with chronometer tested movements & it will say so on the dial. However neither the model numbers, nor the prices are expected to change; the new models will be arriving within 3 to 4 months. Say
  2. :yucky: The Yacht-Master II is a regatta or yachting timer, it uses a new idea whereby it is programmed by rotating the bezel. The watch uses a new version of the current Daytona movement, called the 4160, there are 10 new patents on the technology involved and Rolex tell me they spent over 35,000 man/hours developing the watch. Rolex like to say that this is their first in-house 'Complication' but that, like all Rolex Oyster watches, the complication is designed for a specific sport. In order to make the watch easy to use in the challenging time just before a race starts Rolex have dispensed with the traditional screw pushers for the first time in over 30 years, yet the watch is still waterproof to 100m (330 feet), exactly the same as the first Submariners. There have been many questions about the functions & how it works, rather than try to answer all of them, I have chosen to post the full description & technical specs from the press pack; it will take some reading, but it should all be clear after you have read it. FUNCTIONS The functioning of the Yacht-Master II is very simple. With one hand, the user can rapidly programme the countdown. Likewise, he can start, stop, set or synchronise it, while it is in progress, to the official countdown with a simple press of a pusher. 1. TIMING THE START OF A REGATTA Press the start/stop pusher to start the countdown. At the end of the countdown, the minute hand stops by itself at 0. The seconds hand continues to turn. 2. SYNCHRONISATION OF THE COUNTDOWN (IF NECESSARY) At the time of the official signal, sound or visual: Press the reset pusher briefly and firmly. The minute countdown hand repositions itself to the nearest minute, while the seconds countdown hand returns to 0. When the reset pusher is released, the minute countdown hand and the seconds countdown hand are automatically activated. 3. STOPPING THE COUNTDOWN Press the start/stop pusher. 4. SETTING THE COUNTDOWN Make certain that the countdown is stopped. Press the reset pusher. The minute countdown hand returns to the minute programmed at the last setting and the seconds countdown hand returns to 0. The countdown is ready to be started. 5. PROGRAMMING THE COUNTDOWN First, make certain that the countdown is stopped. Turn the bezel 90
  3. This thing is hot...hot...hot! The current anniv GMT Master II will be discontinued when the new model arrives; the bezel
  4. By-Tor...what an excellent review of this watch! Hats off to you my friend... I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these from River right when they first came out (2005?). I too, had the 6'oclock sub dial frozen for accuracy purposes. The bracelet is A+ and the case even has a small serial number on the lug like the real deal. This is by far my favorite rep I have (and have some nice reps). And talk about heavy...this thing has some weight to it...
  5. Oh man Mario...I almost got this one myself...hot!!!!!!!
  6. Those pics are superb! I love it when the picture taker sets the time on each watch accordingly, makes for a better comparison. That is a very nice rep that Paul has to offer...there's no doubt about it! I am really shocked the genuine PO has that kind of pearl! One would think that the rep has that pearl and real deal has the rep pearl. The PO is the first watch in quite sometime that has really got me so close to pulling the trigger on a genuine it's scary. It takes every ounce of energy out of me daily as I walk past the window displays going to and from work in NYC. I stop into at least one store a day which is asking for trouble. I have now told myself that I will hold off until I see the PO Chronograph on display, then I will take the plunge into the pool of debt I am nearly drowning in as I type. Enjoy that watch...she's a beauty!
  7. I do see one inaccuracy on your engravings Paul. After the model number 16610 you should have a space then a T after. Looking like this: 16610 T That is just a minor thing that most don't care about...but something you should consider in the future.
  8. Got my fiance a ladies an ETA YM Rolesium from EL in 2003 and the damn thing has not had one problem. Very accurate, nice weight...not one thing bad to say about it. She's worn it almost every day for the past 3 years and it is still kickin [censored]! EddieLee = King Mack Daddy Supreme
  9. IE no work for me. I am jonesin really bad here. I need TRC in a bad way!
  10. Oh man...that P.O. Chrono is simply AMAZING! I am a fan of the Orange P.O. but I think I like black dial w orange numbers for the P.O. Chrono. I can not wait for generation 1 through 23 to come out ; )
  11. Rolexman...that review is someone elses, I just cut and paste it from the other board for everyone to see. I don't have a P.O....YET.
  12. If you keep it...the hand swap is a must.
  13. There is also another review on a 5th gen P.O. over at TRC. I'll post a snippet from the orignal post for those who don't visit there: 5th generation P.O. disappointing... "The friend had seen pics of my 4th gen P.O. from Neil/TTK and loved it. The 5th gen was supposed to have a better caseback and better HE valve placement and correct 'Planet Ocean' engraving on the clasp. So I sent my friend my 4th gen (with the bracelet cleaned and polished and oiled, sigh) and a little money back as he was leaving on vacation and wanted to have both the 1950 and the Omega. He was happy Well today the 5th gen Planet Ocean arrived and it is IMHO a big disappointment. The Omega logo that is a chrome applique on the genuine and my 4th gen is just white paint The hands are too short and look 'cheap'? The HE valve is the same as the 4th gen, no improvement The crystal is very, very high domed and has no AR The only things I can see that are any better than the 4th gen are that the clasp is engraved, the caseback is a bit nicer and the crown sits closer in when screwed in (that may actually be too far in though)." NOTE: This is not my review...it is someone elses I cut and pasted from the other board. I am looking to buy one myself.

    MBW?

MBW's are really something to see in person! I was lucky enough to buy quite a few reps directly from MBW when he was still selling a variety of reps as opposed to how its done now. I have an MBW Yact, 16610, GMT and my most recent was my 1st vintage purchase of a Red Sub last year. The Vintage models especially...really are far better than the others. Go 4 it...you wont be disappointed.
