  1. I might have to get one. The pillows in my current watch box are all over the place. Some are snug... Some are loose and the watches just kind of rock back and forth in the slots (pretty annoying).

Is he offering the exotic wood grains still?

Heh... Mr. B- If I sell the Daytonas, what will I have to fill the box with?

Yes, he offers macassar, carbon, walnut, redwood and poplar watch boxes, but his partner that makes these passed away in Jan. He only has what is left in stock, so get on it.

Oh, and you don't have to sell allllll your Daytonas. I only have space for one in my watch box anyway!

    :pimp:

  2. Yes, he wanted to buy one, but I gave three away instead - one was the chinese version to supply an extra Swiss movement and hands if he should need them, and two were MBWs. They were mine, I paid a lot for them, and it seems to me that I could bury them in the back yard if I wanted to.

As far as all that goes, I had someone else recently offer me a ton of money for something else that I wouldn't price, and declined to sell, and then I gave it away instead.

I think I can do that.

Bill--you can do whatever you want...after all they are your watches. I'm sure that you knew that already though...

  3. I've been eyeing one of these for some time, but always wondered how well the pillows fit in the slots. Are they nice and snug?

One of the biggest gripes of most watch boxes I've had is how loose the pillows tend to be.

But they are quite beautiful... One of the better watch box options out there without having to spend $500+...

I didn't inspect every single watch box, but I think most, if not all of the pillows are snug. It could be coincidence, but none of mine are loose. Maybe the other gents could weigh in...

P.S. If you ever want to get rid of one of your Daytonas... :whistling:

  4. W, just to clarify, siesta181 is just reporting the incident. He was not a participant.

for me buyer 2 knew exactly what he was doing. He was stiffing the other buyer. Being caught is just the awkward consequence.

TX--initially I didn't think this to be true, but then I started wondering *WHY* would buyer 2 tell the seller that it's worth more? Who does that??? I think that's the key here. He intentionally did that to show he was willing to pay more in the hopes the seller would sell it to him.

  5. If not, I'm going to have to side with the second person who received the movement. What the ebay seller did was unethical and against ebay terms of service, but how could you know that was going to happen. Maybe the gentlemanly thing to do would be to personally offer to sell the movement to buyer #1 for the higher price you paid. If he accepts, he's happy, you're happy, and you go back to hunting. If not, at least you can both feel like you had a fair shake and the person willing to pay more ended up with the movement.

assuming you didn't know it was going to happen

  6. Hi Tessa and Metro, I understand your frustration but Concepta is not a store that is open 24/7. He will respond when he has time and WILL look after you.

These projects are very long. You have to get the parts from the factory, send them to your watchmaker, get everything together, please incoming mails from customers, collate money, slowly ship out watches as they come in. Big process with a lot of work.

It should reassure you that he does not take on a million projects at once, this would overheat his assembly line from A to Z.

Chase him occasionally and he WILL get back.

    :)

    Nik's a great guy...just be patient.

  7. And just where are you going to get this SOH V2 , Swiss ETA?

The V2 came with Asian movements, and there haven't been any available for months and months except on the boards and V2's go very quick (sorry that I sold mine).

When I last checked, the cartel boys couldn't fill an order for a V2, any color.

I have a SOH v2 Swiss ETA on hold from one of our reputable dealers. PM me if you'd like to replace the one you sold. :)

Only a Stevie would ask a question like that, the Breitling choice is plain as day.... 8)

I owned the gen SOHC on mesh, awesome watch,so a SOH for sure. The other choice looks like something outta a gumball machine.

    LOL...that's one sweet looking watch.

  8. I'm having a tough time deciding what to get next. I currently own a Pam288, cartier santos, concepta iwc3714-38, iwc3717-12 laureus (in repair), a bk DSSD (on order) and a gen Tag aquaracer. I love all my super-reps/frankens, but need something to complement the browns I tend to wear. I was looking at the PAM005K, but since those are OOS, the 318s will do just fine with an upgraded strap. I also like the accuracy of the Breitling SOH v2. I'd buy a gen mesh bracelet to complement the SOH. Note that I have 7" wrists and have contemplated whether the SOH would be too big.

What should I do??? And please, don't tell me to get both.

    Thanks
