ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAPER TO MAKE, ship and store.

"Pioneer Corporation and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., best known for its Panasonic products, today reached a basic agreement on a comprehensive PDP business alliance to further progress and reinforce the PDP businesses".
This 'immediacy effect' was achieved by the higher 'shutter speed'. Not because of the camera.
(This effect is "fun" for action scenes.. but imagine watching the whole movie like that).
50fps will never work for cinema. (its been debated for decades the conclusion is always the same).
It wont happen...
The problem with that is movies would loose there "effect".
24fps make movies look "magical" vs. real...
it allows the brain to detach from reality... sorry could go on for hours about this
50fps would look more like Camcorder footage/ TV show.
thanks
after going through around 10 sets, im finally really happy with this 1
only thing annoying is "white judder" but that's common on all LCD/Plasma.
You didn't lie
Just mislead by a gimmick and hype.
The holy grail of a home cinema setup is to achieve a picture and sound as the DIRECTOR INTENDED.
I now know what you mean by 120hz LCD.
i.e Post-processing to "make-up" frames.
Made-up frames cause artefacts and remove the "movie effect".
(Ive got something similar on my bedroom Philips LCD). fun for the 1st 5mins... then never used it again.
If you like this sort of picture go for it...
LCD can never produce (or even come close to) near REFERENCE level (once calibrated) blacks, gamma curve and colour temperature of the Kuro, THIS IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS.
sorry, dont mean to offend
but please dont post nonsense about refresh rates. nothing you said makes any sense.
cinema refresh rate is 48hz.
why on earth do you need 120hz??????!
Kuro refresh rate is 72hz anyway.
Kuro plasma. best flat screen on market... look on any forum/magazine.
Hi
If you care about picture quality forget LCD.
Plasma is much better.
Go for the Pioneer KURO range (best flat screen TV on the market).
50" here.
also comes in 42"
