Only the 2007 and later versions have the single sided AR. The one pictured is the newer one (I have the same one and love it!) as it has the gold Omega logo and white gold rings around the lume indices. Pre 2007 versions had no AR

I have the bronze version and it is near perfect enough that I have no desire to buy the gen. I will have to check that B placement... back to the AD with me, as if I have not spent enough time there burning images of the gens into my memory... The only thing that I have seen it that the date fills the window more on the rep than it does on the gen. As for the lugs, perfect as far as I can tell. I read somewhere that the rep lugs were too sharp and needed to be sanded down but the gen lugs are just as sharp.

Breitling Montbrillant Datora just came in - PICS!

Thanks for the review on this. I was seriously considering it and was asking Andrew about it and he told me that it wasn't a very good replication I just didn't get it as all the pics I had seen looked really good compared to the gen pics I had seen. So let me just get this right, the subdial at 9 is a running seconds and a 24 hour hand, correct? I still have no idea how they pulled of that one in an Asian movement, very cool!!! -
I am the luckiest man in the world today...

Hey MemberX! Glad to see you got your SOH... did you get it through Mary? I am with you on these, I love both my bronze chrono and my black non-chrono. I keep looking at the gen every time one pops up on the forums for sale but as close as these are, and with my gen mesh I just don't see the sense in it! Now, as for that steering wheel lock, if you had bought a gen lock instead of a rep the paint probably would not have scratched off!! -
Title says it all. At first I was skeptical until the guy posted pics. This is truly a beautiful watch. Wasn't sure if it would be OK to post the link here so I will do it the old fashioned way: hxxp://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=404428 which one of us will be the first to breakdown and buy this thing???

I have spent probably waaaaaaayyyyyyy too much time in ADs scrutinizing the SOHC and then virtually running to my car to compare my bronze SOHC with the images in my memory. The V2 is truly flawless, see my pics in this forum of my bronze on the gen mesh I picked up. One thing I can tell you is that looking at the pics on Andrews site of the Hublot factory version, the subdials look much darker than they really are. That being said the actual subdial color on the bronze matches the gen perfectly as does the dial color. The only things that I have found so far are minor; while the datefont is correct on the V2 the date fills the window just a little too much. The only other one is that the lume dots on the rep are a pure white while on the gen they are a light C3 green. Don't pay any attention to the review that says the lug horns on the rep are too sharp, they are just at sharp on the gen. Anyway, if you want to get any more details on my comparisons (as if there can be more, sorry) just contact me.

Nope, the caseback is rep. Funny thing about that is I handed both watches to a friend of mine not telling him which was gen and gave him a loupe to try to pick the gen. He called the rep a gen because he said under the loupe the caseback looked more detailed and of better quality! I had to chuckle at that one.

Yes, the dial in the rep is gen, as are the hands, bezel and bracelet.

Thanks OSRep. For any interested parties, I will likely listing the rep in the for sale forum this week. I will probably offer it with or without the gen bracelet and I will also be throwing in the remaining gen parts I have (gen He valve and tube, gen pushers and gen crown, sorry, no crown tube)

Thanks for chiming in here Chief... If I did not make it abundantly clear to everybody already, Chief did everything possible to make these UPO crystals work and even polished them after I did my own polish to ensure there was no existing AR. And based on the performance of the SMP Chrono crystal, I am as convinced as Chief is that there is something funky going on with those UPO rep crystals. Thanks again for all your help chief!

The orange rep bezel is close enough. Orange second hand, not even close. Orange on the numbers, close enough but your bigger problem is the "happy feet" on the logo.

VERY observant horz!! Thanks for pointing that out. Just did some checking around and I had ordered an hour hand for a ref 2599.80.0 and the newer version of this watch is a ref 2225.80.0. Ofrei doesn't even have the newer hands on the website. Looks like it might be special order time!! Thanks again

Thanks arniezac. Unfortunately I did not photograph the process and kind of wish I had. Good luck with the crystal, I just had no success with them. They always seemed to scratch very easily after getting them back from Chief. Now, to his credit he did redo both crystals two more times but the AR would scratch as easily as having a towel wiped across them. That being said, the Chief crystal on my SMP Chrono gets lots of wear and is still scratch free. As for the bezel insert, it really is pretty easy to do and I just use a dremel with a grinder bit to take off the bulk and then a diamond bit to finish off the job. I have another bezel insert that I will be working on soon an I will try to post pics of that process. Good luck on yours!

Well, looks like everybody gets it right, though not for many of the reasons stated. The watch on the left is the gen. However: -the rep has the exact same dial as the gen. -the rep has the exact same hands as the gen, except for the rep still has the rep subdial hands, notice how they are .3mm shorter? Look closely. -the rep has the exact same bracelet as the gen, although it looks like over the years the end link stamp has been moved in production -the rep has the exact same bezel as the gen -the rep has Chief AR, which to me looks just as good as the Omega AR which is double sided on the post 2007 models. -the rep was just serviced by Rex and he actually replaced needed parts with swiss, he also waterproofs the watch. I still have a gen He valve and tube, a gen crown and gen pushers but I don't think I will install those at this time as I will likely be listing the rep in the sales forum and will include those other parts with the deal. Thanks for all the feedback!

OK, so this comes on the heels of my "Omega holy trinity" post. I present to you a highly frankened rep SMP Chrono and a genuine SMP Chrono. Look very closely... do you know which is which??? In all shots the left-right orientation is maintained throughout. Here's the front view: And the case backs and crowns: Not the best shot of He valves, but here they are: And lastly, the obligatory lume shots, put your sunglasses on: Have fun, any feedback is appreciated and thanks for looking.
