  1. Just a quick photo comparison on the 7mm Rolex Submariner crowns...

The purpose of this thread is not to explain their history or usage. You can read all that somewhere else.

I just happen to see many vintage Rolex builds advertised with genuine crowns, but many folks don't really know
what distinguishes them from collectible to periodically inaccurate.

So, I hope this helps our members to tell the variations apart from each other and help them check if they are
    correct for their model.

  2. I'm permanently banned on RWI and RWG.bz...

I was temporarily banned here and once or twice on RG as well, if my memory serves me correctly.

The only forums I participate and I've not been banned yet are HF and VRF - even though RC threatened to do so in the past

My advice? Just let it be... this hobby is for fun and laughs, not to make you miserable!

    A ;)

  3. Pump pushers 6238, 6239, 6241, 6262, 6264 have a 24-600 crown - matching 24-6000 tube

    Screw-down pushers 6240, 6263, 6265 have a 24-700 (matching 24-7000 tube) pre 1972

    or 24-701 until around 1975  (apparently a 24-7010 tube)

or 24-702 until around 1982  (matching 24-7020 tube)

or 24-703 from around 1983 (matching 24-7030 tube)

Ah alligoat beat me to it  :bangin:

  4. No, I didn't know you were banned, and evidently, not banned all that much.

I expressed my opinion when it happened, many pages ago, and it's still there.

Why are you trying to change the subject?

I could post your quote from back then, but this back and forth wont change your view.

Post what you like, feel free to wind up people...

All the smart members have already acknowledged your idiocy.  :clap2:

  5. As I recall you made much the same fuss about an Admin here who did post rep pics on a gen site.

MD2020's facebook issue was addressed at the time posted in this thread, and Mike himself explained it. It was not as he was accused.

I did. I was banned for making a fuss when Nanuq posted that picture, remember?

I was asking for your personal opinion.

Do you think what he does is alright or do you think it's a violation of the board rules?

If you think it's a violation why don't you demand a ban? You are all about the rules aren't you?

  6. I didn't misread anything. It looks as though you have misread what I said.

Now, if you think that name calling a fellow RWG member is defending another m'ember who actually did the attacking and rule-breaking foul-mouthed tirade, then yes, we do have a strong disagreement.

Joey, here is something you did miss (before you got a twist in your panties over the word 'idiot').

    Something GBOGH pointed out already...

A person who posts pictures of replica watches on Facebook with the implication that they are genuine, or post pictures of

replicas on Facebook to sell them as genuine, or post pictures of replicas on Facebook to attract business customers - along with a comment like:

'Do you have a high end watch that doesn't run or want to sell email me. I specialize in high end repair and restoration of vintage watches. Rolex, Breitling,Omega ect.'

    Is either

    a ) a scammer and fraud

    or

    b ) a phony

I don't think our community needs either and as far as I'm aware this is a violation of these rules (genuine time piece forum or Facebook - talking about attention, the result is the same) you hold so highly.

[26] - NO replica pictures should be posted on the genuine time piece forums by the members of RWG. A violation of this rule will get you permanently banned. Our little underground hobby does not need this kind of attention.

So instead of getting on everyones nerves by arguing over stupid nonsense, you should be aware who is really breaking this boards rules

and what should happen, once all watches have been returned - repaired.

That's some facts from an unbiased member of this community.

  7. May I ask which serial range yours is?

Both have MK1 dials, however a 2.9mil serial should have a MK2 dial to my knowledge...

This alone, along with the weird Tritium markers, would make me cringe.

  8. I have bought from Uhrenbaron. His 2846's are in excellent shape! I using one for my MBW 5513 built at the moment.

Best ETA hands are from TC! I used them to build Lo's 1016.

As for the insert, your best option is a gen fat font.

But take a look at the Yuki insert too. It is the best copy of the fat font to my knowledge.

Get a Yuki pearl too, it will make your watch look so much better.
