  4. Ahem? Have you looked at the US Foreign Policy, it consists of 'you can do it if we like you, if you don't then 'Look Out' I wonder how long it will be before the US decide that Iran has WMDs and go in to 'assist'. Why can Israel and Pakistan have Nukes but Iran cannot?? Don't even think about telling us to 'Butt Out' Rob
  5. Captain (!) You stated: "You bring up other countries as "proof" that no one needs guns. Funny, the last time I looked at the statistics crime, murders, and even *gasp* gun violence INCREASED after firearms were banned or restricted. (UK... Australia...) But we all know that those stats are twisted depending on the author's bias, so it's a toss up. You certianly don't have any more proof than I on that count." There are two main reasons that Gun Crime went UP after Handguns were banned: 1. Many, previously honest, handgun owners had mysterious burglaries just before the deadline and their handguns were stolen. The problem was when they had dug them up from the garden and they REALLY did get stolen they couldn't report them. 2. And, actually this is the main reason, the collapse of the Soviet Union left millions of weapons available in Eastern Europe,as their border controls are similar to that of Canada & the US they have flooded into Western Europe (THe UK is part of Europe !). We have a problem in the UK,but it can be improved with compulsory life sentences for gun crimes, but with the way the Metropolitan Police's Armed Response Team react it's getting pretty dangerous to carry other items, such as a table leg or a face that looks a bit 'Arabic'. Funny though, Everyone else can have a reasoned discussion but the Americans, It's in your Constitution you yell!, So? you can amend the Constitution when it suits you, so why can't you just act like adults and do it. Last year there were 30,000 gun related homicides in the US and 46 in the UK. Don't shout, think Rob
  6. I have the same problem, even if I use a 'drift' or pin and try to hammer the @#&king thing out! Also the head of one of the only two screws that I could remove (luckily one on each 'side') fell off when reinserting it (no, I didn't twist hard) Any suggestions?? Rob
  7. I work in an International Organisation in Canary Wharf and get lots of compliments everytime I wear a PAM. The men of my own age (!!) from Italy, Hungary and The Czech Republic always know what it is, the others (From all over the World) just like it as it's BIG and different! Panerai aren't big in the UK yet. Rob
  8. I bought a B&R 46mm Chrono quartz late last year from Andrew and its been great untill.... I opened my watch box last night and it had stopped, it looks like my son had been 'looking' and started the Chrono, that'll drain the battery! I don't have a friendly local watchsmith so thought I'd change the battery myself, It's an easy watch to access, You just undo the four screws on the top and pop off the whole top piece (crystal and 'bezel'). Once I'm in what do I do? How do I turn the movemenr over to access the battery without damaging the stem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rob
  9. It looks like one a 'security' head screw, Radio Shack (and Maplins in UK) sell a mobile phone tool kit for about
  10. Thes look great, but I think I'll hold off until someone reviews th GMT version. Rob
