  1. So basically I think we all want to know is if it is safe to buy it or are we basically wasting money on it? I know I want one but I think I would want to get it serviced first, not graphite treatment but a service as someone else mentioned in another post about this watch, that the newer versions wouldn't benefit from graphite treatment, I could be misinformed though.

  2. Just got the watch today and it looks great! Here is a quick wrist shot, sorry for the crappy quality, it was taken with my phone.

How much do you guys think it would cost to get this relumed? and do you know of anyone in the U.S.?

    Thanks

  3. Yep that's another odd looking photo, the rubber strap here won't let the watch 'sit' straight on, and they've done their best to take the photo angled rather than straight on....so again it is skewed, I'd forgive them on that one tho as the shipping shots arent really for QC, more just to prove the numbered watch and address it is going to match up. Hard to know for sure, you'd need front shots fairly straight on to know for certain. If you aren't happy then fully press him for another watch, he'll give you one.

In general, I do wish they'd sort out the odd angled photos though...we are not looking for studio quality pics, just a reference point we can judge things correctly!

I never thought judging the QC pics would be so hard, usually they all look fine to me, this is the first time i have rejected one, but i just got a reply back from Josh saying he will arrange another one! Hopefully that one will have better angles used!

  4. yeah, I'm sort of on the side of it's fine here, although can't be sure without more and better pics. These bezels on PO can make the numbers look off or with a slight skew to them depending on how the watch is photographed, lighting, reflections and the curvature of the bezel itself can throw it...etc sometimes they are perfectly straight but it can give the illusion of being 'off' ...the (in)famous '20' on the gen stock omega pics is a prime example!

With the pearl, then that's upto yourself if you want to reject because of it...bare in mind all 45mm pearls are [censored], and worse even than 42mm pearls...none of them are centred, all are in the bottom portion of the triangle, the best you can hope for is that it is at least central in the bottom portion of the triangle, yours looks ever so slightly to the right, but again the photos aren't helping, ask for more straight on photos and not ridiculous angles like the ones you received. My 2c anyway!

That is weird how they look a bit off in the stock photo, but it seems they are way off in my QC pics, even with the markers at 10 and 15 too. The Bezel Im not to worried about since it seems like they are never that good in the first place. I wouldn't reject on the pearl alone but that culminating with the bezel is why i asked for a new one!

  5. I know for a fact Joshua has some great looking POs. Just ask for another one.

I just got an email back from Josh saying that the watch is fine and nothing is wrong with the bezel and he wanted to proceed. I told him again that the bezel was misaligned and it wasn't just because of the angle of the picture and that the pearl was off center as well, and that I would appreciate a new one. Hopefully he will oblige and send me a new QC.

  6. No go.The bezel and the pearl are way off on this one. I'm pretty sure they have better ones in stock (is it Josh's?)

Yes it is from Josh. I hope they have something better than this one! I asked for them to fix the bezel then send me more pictures once that was done.

  7. I doubt a local guy would touch an a21j ... ETA is a different story. Katt normally turns watches around in a week. I can't speak for him, tho.

Alright well then I wont even waste my time with a local guy, thanks for the info and Katt's email. Ill keep you posted on what happens.

  8. Hey thanks I just sent him an email. Im going to take it to a local shop in the morning and see if they can help before sending it out. Thanks for your help and input!

Shoot GKLONER at gmail dot com (Katt) an email and I'm sure he can help you for a very reasonable amount of money.

  9. its the omega PO 42 mm with the 4813 movement. It just stops keeping time when Im wearing it even after it is fully wound, or when I go to change the time and it wont start back up and its fully wound. But if I leave it sitting fully wound it keeps perfect time for over 36 hours so I was hoping a simple service would maybe clean it out and if that didn't work get it repaired i guess.

  10. I was wondering if any of the Radiomir models besides the Chrono came with an automatic movement rather than the hand-winding one, and is also true to the look of a gen one, the movement doesn't have to be like the gen type though.

    Thanks,

    Nick

  11. I just received a PAM 292 as well as a cheap IWC from KING and the second hand is ticking a lot louder on both of them than any of the other watches i have bought, including a PAM104. I was wondering if this was normal or if it could be fixed fairly easy, it is kinda annoying if you are in a quiet place, and that is all you can here. Thanks for help guys, I appreciate it!!

  12. so I am pretty sure I have narrowed the choice down to 3 watches:

    IW3717-01:

    http://www.replicamake88.com/products/IWC07002-IWC-PILOT-CHRONO-SS-ASIAN-7750-28800BPH-BLACK.html

    IW3789-01:

    http://www.kingshowbox.com/goods.php?id=6409

    PAM 288K:

    http://www.asian7750.com/cn/product_show.asp?big_pid=&ps_id=182&P_id=2067&ti=

Please let me know what you guys think and if I can find any of these at a cheaper price!

    Thanks,

    Nick

I had also considered the Ebel 1911 Discovery Chrono as well.
