  1. Here some pics of the gen proving the date wheel is lower on the gen as well and a naked pic.

If you looks closely you can see part of the number of the next date from the side shots.

All in all I think the rep looks truely amazing. Only thing missing is the logo on the back, but that shouldnt be too difficult to make right ? it looks as if it is just printed on there...

  2. like it... but, some gens have white date and some have black date?!?!

is it an option of some sort... which model constitutes which color datewheel?!?!

Concerning the date wheel colour, here is a quote from another forum from JC Biver, the father of the hublot big bang (dated aug. 18, 2006)

"Well, well gentlemen, I think I might have to disappoint you.

Some nine months ago we decided to introduce from May 2007 on(if I remember well)the black date together with the black dials. The idea was certainly good and I can see from the reaction that some of you welcome this change.

But considering the stock problems and logistic problems we are facing with two date colours, we decided yesterday to come back to only one date colour, except for certain special models like All Black for instance.

Now, with all your reactions, I am tempted to reconsider our decision?

    Will let you know."

So apparantly, the date wheel color will not affect the accuracy. Both colors are fine (though I must say I would prefer the black one, it looks nices on both the cf dial as well as on the plain black dial of the ss bezel version)

@Admin: Very true, on some pics of the gen dial that are taken from a lower angle one can even see parts of the next (previous) date on the datewheel, so the one on the sample from Angus look authentic.

@angus: if there are plans to make the black magic version, it should also be possible to make the ceramic bezel version since the black magic version has everything ceramic (bezel and case).

  3. Lets see some nice backshots of your rep babies...lets see who has the nicest back...(with women this topic seems to grap sooo much more attention than with reps and we gotta change that)

I start with a backshot of my Pam111 from PT. Sorry bout the blurry pic, my foto skills have yet to improve (plus i am a newbie) Hope you still like it :D

Have a nice one and show off your babies backs for me,

    uzi :victory:

  4. I would go for the 45 mm., the one Bond is wearing. With black bezel, white numbers and rubber strap !

But some other members have suggested that it might be a good idea to hop into your local AD and try them on both :winkiss: But why is the 42 cheaper than the 45 ?

(Is there anyone here already received one of the ultimate versions and can post some good pics? Would be really nice... :) )

    Cheers,

  5. Someone recently was kind enough to post all of Ofrei's links to genuine Omega parts (minute, second, hour hand) and bezels and so on, for an Omega Seamaster PO (4th Gen rep). [http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=8428&hl=omega+planet+ocean]

Well, as I have explained already, the genuine bezel will not work out, so don't purchase it. Well, with the gen bezel, I also purchased the genuine hands. The problem (which affects some other gen parts you can buy for this particular model) is that the rep case is exactly 1mm larger than the genuine. So, the genuine hands (for the genuine Omega caliber 2500 movement - used by the PO) are designed for an even smaller watch (even if just by 1mm). So, if you are not happy with the "shorter" appearance of the rep hands as they sit on the rep dial, buying genuine hands will increase your problem as those hands are made to fit a smaller dial face. SO DON'T BUY THE GENUINE BEZEL, THE DIAL, OR THE HANDS. How do I know? I bought the bezel and the hands. Luckily, I did not invest in the dial. I don't want you guys making the same error. As for the post regarding these genuine parts, the author of that did it with the best intentions. I mean, back then ... who knew?

Thanks for the info anyway. Do you have any information regarding the latest ultimate POs and whether gen parts will fit them ?

  6. I've found that Omega's are always easier to pull off as gen. I just ordered the ultimate 45.5... the flaws (like the logo) will be unnoticeable at couple of feet away, so nothing to worry about. With Rolex, it's pretty much a fake until proven otherwise for most people :)

So you do not believe there will be a modified version with the correct logo and maybe the black rubber strap? As I understand in the past there was a version which had the logo correct. Why is it always th logo making the trouble, i would guess it should be one of the easier things to get correct...

  7. Hi everyone,

you guys managed to create a great forum ! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I feel like i have been learning more lurking around here than in school and at uni... :D

Now my request for good comments on the following topic:

I am contemplating on getting a solid sporty watch for everyday use (my second rep). Since it

should be a daily watch i think i would want it to have a swiss eta in its chest.

I was going to pick PT's Sub Lv which is awesome quality, however, the ultimate version of

the Omega PO made me reconsider....now i am lost. The only thing that bothers me about the ultimate

    PO edition is

the logo on the dial which is indeed slightly off and accoring to another post

this issue is not likely to be resolved by dealers (is that really true? ) (although the hands on the gen are also different

in that they seem be flat on the rep).

On the other hand, the Sub Lv has also a logo problem to my mind: the logo is not as crisp

as the ones on the noobmariners. Another thing which i am concerned about is the size. How big is

    the difference between a 45mm and a 40mm on the wrist ?

What do you guys think, are there more inaccuracies for either model ? Which one would you say is closer

    to the gen ?

Does anyone maybe has both models and would be so kind to post wristshots ???

Any comment is highly appreciated! Hope this doesnt sound too much like a noobie-topic and i get good answers

. Be gentle with a newbie rep addict!!

    Cheers,
