  1. Matt, thanks! Let's do it, can you build me one? I sent you an email... So what do you guys think of that dial on ebay I posted? Is it truly gen, and the dial says it is for 16200, but the model I want is the 116200. Are the white dials the same on those models? I want to know if I should get this dial and then have Matt build it for me Unless you already have a gen white porcelain dial for the 116200 with roman numerals?
  2. Matt, I sent you an emai BTW
  3. is this the same dial? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-dial-white-for-16200-datejust-models-/170946798813?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27cd3924dd&autorefresh=true
  4. Guys I need some quick help please. I am going to have someone build me the newer style 116200 but since I have friends with gens, I would like to have a gen white dial with roman numerals installed. I just found one on ebay but the seller lists it for the 16200 model. So my question to you experts is, is there any difference in the dials between the gens of these 2 models? Also, can you guys take a look and let me know if this is in fact a gen dial? Thanks so much in advance. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170946798813
  5. I remember reading that the dial was a bit too green on one of the versions, but I can't remember which one. Can someone help me out with this?
  6. thanks guys. What are the pros and cons though?
  7. Man, you guys are killing me. Perhaps the two tone is less obvious, because the bezel doesn't have to be off-white platinum color? Maybe I just need to find a good version of this watch. Anyone know how accurate the reps are of this? It is a DJ I.
  8. I see. That sucks about the bezel. Might be a deal breaker. I wasn't worried too much about the hand stack. Was planning on setting it to meet at like 3am anyway. No kne would notice. The bezel on the other hand is a killer. Especially since I planned to spend some cash for cyclops AR etc... Hmmm
  9. So I am looking to get this watch. I need to make it as accurate as possible since I have an accquintance that owns a gen... It needs to pass being on the wrist. There are 2 versions at this moment from what I understand... The older noobfactory, a newer model from a different factory with superlume... Pretty much all the threads I found compare the older noobfactory model. But I'm not sure which one is more accurate now. So which model should I get? Mods? I would like to get a gen crystal for the ZR cyclops but it seems neither model is a simple drop-in... So what would you guys recommend?
  10. Hey guys, So I've been out of the loop for a bit, have been really busy and haven't been able to keep up. I currently have a PAM 005n which I really enjoy. However, I am just getting tired having to manually wind it every day. I would like to get an auto pam and I prefer a polished case. I really like the 104. From what I understand there are several different versions of the PAM 104 now? Can you guys school me a bit on this model? How accurate is it? How accurate is the font color? I saw on Josh's page that he is the latest ultimate etc... Which ones do you guys recommend? Are they as accurate as the PAM 005n that I have?
  11. Ladies size 33mm Quarts with diamond bezel... Anyone know if the bezel is supposed to rotate on the gen?
  12. Just noticed this watch while looking for a daily beater. Thing is, I prefer to have a SS Tachy bezel as opposed to the popular colored inserts. The white caught my eye as most of my watches are currently black. Can anyone comment on the accuracy of the white dial SS bezel on this watch? I'm talking about the newer 43mm case. From what I understand the black insert and blackface is super accurate except for the blue screws on the movement? Is this comfortable for daily wear or is it a bit too thick?
  13. Thanks guys, straps look good. I want something sharp and glossy. The BOB strap looks perfect that MJC linked to, except that it is Imprint and not real alligator and has white stitching, I would like something that is completely blue, and hopefully all alligator or crock, not the imprints. But anyone know if BOB could do matching stitching? I would be willing to try it out for so cheap but I want to have the look that the entire strap is blue.
  14. Guys, I'm looking for that rich blue glossy look of an exotic skin. Not really denim color or matte
  15. Hey guys, So summer is coming and I think it would be cool to have a nice blue strap. Any ideas or suggestions where to get one? Let's see some pics of your watches on blue. *edit* I found this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/BIG-CROCO-24mm-LEATHER-STRAP-Band-for-PANERAI-Blue-24-/120768044516?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1e561de4 Which is what I had in mind, nice real blue. But anyone know where to get an actual Croc and not croc grain print on cow leather?
  16. I've been doing some reading all day and it seems like if I get an engraved rehaut with 'M' serial the only flaws are the dial, and 18K stamped on the caseback which can be brushed out. Seems pretty good to me and I doubt anyone is even going to see something off in the rehaut engraving being that it's so small. Am I missing something?
  17. Thanks Tomhorn, you may be right. Although I never take off my watches, ever... They're more like acquaintances... I have a PAM 005 right now that no one could tell is a rep at all, even by people that own gens... So I am just wondering if the rep of the datejust would be the same... Especially the fact that there are soo many datejusts out there, I would think it would be difficult to tell with a nice rep. Especially if I add a gen dial, clark crystal and maybe a gen crown?
  18. Yeah I see what you mean and agree about the engravings. Do they just not line up correct? Or is the font incorrect? The only issue is I have 2 friends that buy and sell used watches which could get a bit annoying... So the rest of the case is spot on right? Crystal height, etc... What about the crystal and mag are they spot on? I'm thining the laser-etched crown may be visible on the rep so I would need to swap out for a Clark crystal?
  19. Thanks, but what about the rest of the watch? I will most likely be putting in a gen dial in. My question is about the accuracy of the rest of the watch. Dimensions, markings, magnification of the date, date font and crown etc..
  20. guys so assuming I can't have a franken build with the gen 116200 case. How accurate is the rep? I'm still not getting a clear answer from you guys. What are the flaws of this thing assuming I drop in a gen dial? Can it stand up to scrutiny against a gen?
  21. Wow, KBH, thank you so much! You're amazing, that's very nice of you! We have a truly great community here guys. I'm assuming JMB is his username on here? I will send him a pm. Good thing I don't like the fluted white gold bezel In case he isn't willing to build one for me, if I do get the one with the engravings, how inaccurate are they? Would it be an obvious tell if one were to hold it up close and look at it?
  22. watch looks beautiful KBH! I'm not familiar with the datejusts enough to see flaws though. Is that a MOP dial? Looks very nice. So I've pretty much decided on the Datejust I with smooth bezel and polished midlinks. -did they ever make it with polished links and NO engraving? If not, how accurate is it right now, that's my main question. Equivalent to today's super reps? I would throw in a gen dial on it. Would I need a new crystal as well (to fix the date mag I guess?). If so probably clark's crystal. What do you guys think? *edit* budget is about $800
  23. Thanks guys, I'm still unsure about all the model numbers (I though all SS Datejusts are 16200). I don't care much if it has the engraving or not HOWEVER, what I do want are: 1) Polished center link 2) Smooth Bezel I think those 2 are only made on the Datejusts with the engravings on the Rehaut? Are they that bad? Is the font at least correct on it? I went to an AD today and tried it on and infact liked the White Dial with the Roman numerals best, and that's the one that I would like. So how accurate would it be with those things and a gen white dial
  24. SO after much thinking I decided to go with a datejust for my Rolex Rep, mostly due to accuracy and the fact that I want to have a polished mid link watch. After seeing this pic on a gen forum I'm sold Could you guys tell if this is a white dial or silver dial? Also, how accurate would a rep be of this watch? I would try to find a gen dial like that to drop into the rep. What do you guys think? How accurate is the 'Rolex' engraving on the Rehaut on these things? I have friends who wear gens so that would be important for me. Thanks again everyone
  25. Okay guys. I decided to get a SS Oyster Bracelet with smooth bezel datejust. With a white roman numeral dial. So I need some help (perhaps I should start a different thread?) Is there a case that's more accurate than others? Or is the standard datejust I case for $238 on Andrews site good enough? I would try to find a gen dial for it. Do what do you guys think? What would be the flaws with that's scenario? Is the Rolex engraving on the rehaut a good font? If so, can I ask for a case without the engravings? What about the crown, bracelet, crystal, etc... Thanks so much guys for helping me put this together.
