perfect timing lol. I need to clean and polish my Breilitng Bentley GT bracelet. Are there any tutorials on how to take the bracelet off and what tools I need?

All right everyone. I have been readon and reading and I am ready for my first PAM finally. BUT I need your help in obtaining that "perfect" PAM. ---------- It needs to be a base and by that I mean just the second hand, no chronos or anything. Has to be SS nice and shiny Dont care if it is a Sausage or a Sandwich Dial I am willing to do the mods necessary... ---------- Now here is what I have come up with. I was about to get a fully modded 111H even with the fonts stained to the correct off-white color. BUT then realized the problem with the "Officine Panerai" writing on the back of the movement. This watch is going to cost a bit more then usual reps due to the mods, so I do not want to have such an easy tell... So I figured I would get one with a closed caseback and a sausage dial. 005, perfect... Except the fact that the Panerai logo is not as slanted as it should be and as a result is not pointing in between the letters. In addition the font color is white and it is impossible to stain it to the off-white color that it should be b/c its a sausage dial? Finally I stumbled on here and realized that there is a different older model. The 001B which incorporates a sausage dial, no logo, closed caseback, and a polished CG (perfect since I prefer the polished one). However I am not sure if the fonts on this one are correct to the gen in their color. Also Baloba mentioned that dealers aren't carrying a "true" 001b rep anymore, and are just using all parts (ie: incorrect caseback, cg, crystal, etc...). So now I am stuck and I need your help. Im willing to send it off to one of our mod experts for modding but this is going to cost me, so I want to make sure I get an accurate rep as a result. I apologize about the long post but perhaps this can be used for reference by other people looking to achieve the same thing. Thanks in advance.

Guys what about the PAM 001? Whats th edifference b/w the 001 and the 111H?

Okay guys so I am shopping around for the most accurate Panerai. Could you tel me if a gen model like this exists at all? There are so many it's a bit overwhelming. Basically I would like a couple of things: 1) Sandwhich Dial 2) Closed caseback since the current movement is a dead giveaway. 3) Polished CG. 4) Base model - meaning I just want it to have a second hand no chronos. But it has to have a second hand. If one doesnt exist like this, I guess the painted on dial is acceptable; But the only one I know is the 005 but I do not believe it's supposed to have a polished CG. Also it's annoying to me that the logo arrow does not point wear it should like on the gen. I would be willing to have mods done to it so flavor flav can do his thing with it. But I would like it to have the correct font (I believe the 005 has a thicker than 111H)... Anyay let's here your recommendations/suggestions. Also I would like it to work with a SS bracelet one day so DS is out.

Non one has ever asked straight out if it's a rep. Usually people don't. But if you call me out, I want you to prove it! I was just thinking it would feel so good to have him open it and stare at a breitling movement lol. But honestly, the more I think about it the more I realize what an a** this guy is. I mean what if it is a real watch and he made a mistake. He is going to compromise the seals etc.. just to prove a point. And I guess the fact that I handed him the watch to "test" kind of helped gfiving it away because if it iwas really a $7,000 watch no way in hell someone would do that. I get your point guys but what I am not mad a jewler called me out. I am mad at the fact that he told people it was a fake all the while not really knowing. The only way I believe eh could have spotted it on my wrist is if he paid attention to the AR which he did not because he said crystal is nice!!! and his first thign was to test the chronos... I am wearing it for 3 months now and have never had anyone question its authenticity before and I do drive a nice car and dress nice... I am sure a PO or SFSO would draw less atention but I jsut dont like those watches. I LOVE the breitling shiny polished bracelet. If the SFSO had that bracelet I would probably get it. But its also too thick so I dunno. Anyway thanks everyone for your comments.

Is that what it is called though? The rotor or the plate? Basically so if someone decides to twist open the casebac it would apear to be a real breitling ETA 7750 movement.

Thanks guys. I'm just curious what you guys would have said in that situation. I didnt do it in front of people because I was being polite and asked to talk to him privately. Plus I thought he really did notice the lack of AR or really new his stuff since he was able to call it out on the wrist and be sure enough about it to tell other people; so I thought we would have a nice convo about reps... And he said that he is the OWNER of the jewelry store. Not just a jewler there but owns the business... Furethermore, he was not wearing a watch at the time.

Guys quick question. I just thought of this. Are there any gen breitling rotors for sale? Now I am not sure if I am looking for the rotor but basically the plate that is first exposed on the movement when you just take the case back off. So if I decide to open the caseback and without going any further it would apear to be a swiss 7750 "Breitling" movement.

The thing is that I was ready to talk about reps and everything since I figured he would tell me about the AR and tehn about the font or the 't' not bein crossed, but he checked the chronos! Then the back and after all said the bracelet was no good! And THEN said the bezel should not rotate like that. You're right that I shouldn't have taken it off but I was ready to talk about the flaws and the nice craftsmanship etc... and point out the 't' on the back if he would miss that one. And if he actually asked if I could afford it from people that I know they would have said I could, because I totally can. I was going to get a gen because I fell in love with this watch but it's just not as exciting after spending that kind of money on a watch. Anyone can do it, but not everyone can get so close for a couple hundred; that's what's exciting about it! But I have learned that from now on, I am not taking my watch off under any circumstances, and can't wait for the new AR run already. Now the question is: Why can't we get a better quality Bentley GT rep? Im even happy with the spacing of the inner and outer dials, just get those suckers to rotate correctly and make the font bold, and we are set.

So yea. I went to this party today for a barbecue wearing my Bentley GT. It was in a backyard... About half-way into the party my friend comes up to me and tells me that my watch is fake! So I give him a puzzled look and say what are you talking about? He says that some young guy at this party is a jeweler/watch dealer and he told him and a bunch of people that my watch is fake! So I come up to this guy and pull him to the side and ask him why he thinks that my watch is fake. He asks to to take it off and I do. So now I'm like damn he's gonna call me out on the font. But no, he pushes the button for the chronometer; it works. He still maintains that he has experience selling watches for 7 years and he is sure it is a fake. I press on for him to tell me why. He turns the watch over so I think he's gonna say something about the 't' not being crossed. Nope all is good here. He finally rotates the bezel and says that it should not rotate freely like this on the gen, and when he tried to set the time he said that the hour markers should rotate clockwise when adjusting the time, not counter-clockwise. He also tried to open the caseback at which point I was like uhm.. what are you doing? So he handed it back to me and I said I would take it up with the person I bought it from... This defininetly was not a pleasant expericen and I think this guy is an a**hole no? I mean he went around telling everyone he could find that my watch was a fake! I mean why would he do that. And what has me even MORE curious is the fact the he knew it was a fake by looking at it from my wrist, yet all the way he explained that it was fake were by touching it and moving the handles and bezel. He also said the bracelet didnt look right when he was holding it... But how was he able to deterine this by looking at it while it was on my wrist! Thoughts/Comments? What should I have said?

Guys need some help so a quick question... I do not own a PAM yet but I will eventually get an 005 or a 111h. Is the crown I need to order a SS Swiss/Asian Unitas one? Will it defintely work with either an 005 or a 11H for DS or elsewhere? Or do I need to get a stem or something as well? Thanks.

Is it still possible to get in on the double-sided A/R? I am in the U.S. and I would need someone to take the crystal off and put it back on for me please. I was going to have Joe on RWI do it for me but he is still sick so can anyone help me out with this in the U.S.? (Sorry Im not really familiar with the people that are the mod gurus on this forum

So I have become interested in putting this thing together slowly but surely. First I would like to get that "perfect" sub that would allow me with mods to be accurate... I talked with hk45ca who is having rbj69 (at RWI) do something similar but he has last year's TW best for this project and Joe is really sick now so unfortunately I cant ask for his advice... The mods I was thinking is superlume of course, gen crown and tube, CN blue insert with aftermarket bezel, and I would buy an aftermarket Solid 18k Gold TT oyster bracelet... I would have Joe or someone else do the work and also re-plate the crown and bezel to match the color of the 18k gold on the bracelet.... So now the watch. I talked to TTk who said he can get me the MBW TT sub. Now here is my question How does this sub compare to last year's TW best sub that hk45ca said can be made to be 99.99% exact? Would this MBW also be the same way? Im thinking of perhaps getting the watch now in case it becomes harder to get in the future... What do you guys think about this? Any advice, suggestions? I really appreciate everyone's help in this matter because this is something that would be very special and very accurate. Thanks again. BTW, does anyone do a lot of sub mods on this forum? cool thanks! But on the rep the inner bezel does not rotate right? Also slightly off topic but I went to the AD today (took my watch off) to look at the bentley GT. Well they onl had the newer GT in stock with only the mid-links polished. But I took a look at the date font and it wasn't even red like my rep! But it was dark brown! Now is it because it's a newer version or is the font supposed to be dark brown? All the pics online that Ive seen show it as dark brown and not red at all like on our reps. any comments about this?
