  1. There is a small "U" shaped spring that moves the tilting pinion into the center seconds gear. I have seen this spring fall out or get out of place.

If this is what has happened, best to not wind it or use it until you can take the caseback off and have a look inside. It could be something else but impossible to say without seeing the movement.

Time for a visit with your favorite watchsmith.

That would be you Sir! I will contact the collector I bought it from and see if he wishes to have me return it to him first, if not then I'll send you an email and try to book a slot in the future, thank you EVERYONE for your input. I must say it was refreshing having Chris (ETMZ) commenting, I do like that extra mile he always gives.

  2. My Slevin has developed a fault, I have searched everywhere and can't seem to find any info on this particular problem. The chrono had been running for a few hours without me knowing, I must have hit it against something.

Now the chrono doesn't seem to be working, the seconds run at nine until the chrono is engaged then it stops, the chrono hand at twelve goes back to 55 on the dial then seems to stutter for a few seconds then stops completely. Also the chrono will not reset to the proper start position either. Guys ANY help is most sincerely appreciated.

  3. How big is that watch? It looks massive.

    Ken

I have no idea Ken, someone has offered it for sale, this is the only pic I have at the moment. I have no idea if it's real or not but I certainly haven't seen one before. :g:

  4. You'll know when you see it.

It's killing me having to wait Pugs!

The bracelet looks wrong and so does the logo, also for a 39mm AT the bezel looks a little wide, it looks more like a smaller one but then the date will be in the wrong place and the marker @3 should be smaller or missing totaly, with that marker and bezel i would say it looks more like the 42mm but then the logo is all wrong

Was there ever a quartz rep sold of this Andy?

  5. NAY!

Even to this very day if ye are in the right place at the right time and the sea is calm, the moon full and low in the sky ye can catch a glimpse o' the ship o' the damn'd sailing by. Sometimes she is close enough to hear the sound of wind in yon rigging, the slap o' sail on yard and the creak o' a ghostly tiller rope on rudder block. 'ware the low moon on calm nights oh friend o' mine because The Dutchman still roams the seven seas, undead!

He may be coming for ye friend o' mine, yea, best to make your peace wit the Lord before ye sail for ye may never return . . .

    Col.

    ARRRRHHHH!

  6. thanks for the reply guys, do you think it looks like a rep? I ask only because the Omega symbol looks older than anything I can see online for Aqua Terra's, it's being sold as quartz and it has co-axial on the dial and the bracelet also looks different to me but I'm no expert, any help greatly appreciated.

  7. Oh, 'theflyingdutchman' is now 'theflyingscotsman'. :)

Everyone is accounted for p1, aside 'Lanikai' who is on the mend but rallying, 'Nanuq', but Bob probably can't maintain an internet conection on whatever glacier he has peddled up on this week, and of course 'jonthebhoy' which is par as he, like St. Nick, is on a strict calendar schedule. A pity there, but when those two do show, it is with much rejoicing and fanfair.

I will say tho' there has been a low volume of posts in the threads. On the face of it, seems a pity, but being high summer I would imagine all are out enjoying themselves. Which is good.

That's not to say the 'few' are not trying. According to the new feature on the forum main page 'dluddy' has clocked in 18 posts, 'Chief' an admirable 16, 'redwatch' 14, the least of which there is not his post in the wrist check, a handsome Explorer vintage, yummm, and even 'Pugwash' tallied 9. Good news there as he had been erstwhile and until recently preoccupied with other distractions; the damned 'Twitter'.

    Much obliged Dems!
