In case anyone is interested, this is what I started with:

All the text on the case back and the "L SWISS MADE L" came from here except the W is SWISS. I had to make that one:

All letters were stretched or shrunk and skewed to get them as close to the correct size and shape as I could, then copied and pasted, letter by letter to the caseback and rotated to the proper angle then moved into place. All the rotating and placement was done by eyeball, so if you were to measure distances, they are probably a little off, but I'm pretty happy with the end result. Oh, I also had to make the little fish on the bottom of the caseback

It was a fun, but tedious little project.

So what do you think?

I finished the caseback (even rotated it to align the engraving properly), and added "L SWISS MADE L" to the dial. I'm thinking about a roller CG lever, but since the 005K was first released without, I think this is more accurate for an initial blueprint.

The buckle kind of sucks, so I might play with that...I don't know...but here you go:

I think I'm gonna mat and frame one of these and hang it in my office at home next to my framed Golden Gate Bridge blueprint.

Did you use a caseback tool or did you find some other house hold item that did the job?

Try a wad of duct tape (sticky side out). It works pretty well and it won't scratch the case.

Ass overload isn't all that life has to offer...lol

Just ordered this strap for my new 005!

With all the interest in the 005 these days, I thought it might be fun to modify one of the Pre-V blueprints that have been posted all over the internet through the years into a PAM00005 (much like I did for the 111).

I know it's not totally accurate, the caseback is blank, and the part number text is all wrong, but like I said, it was just for fun. I may attempt the caseback later.

Quite a lot. Maybe 70 half turns. I've given it a gentle whack and still nothing.

It sounds like you got a full wind. Maybe open the caseback and see if a mounting screw or something has fallen out and is obstructing the balance wheel?

I'd at least take a look before sending it back.

That what I did. I wound until it stopped, set the time, locked the lever. Still not working

How many times did the crown turn before it stopped?

That certainly is a nice and flush CG, but don't worry seraphe, a lot of gens don't have flush CGs.

Here are 2 different gen 005s. One has a lever slight proud of the CG and the other is slightly shallower.

Well the love of my new pam 005 has been short lived. I've just got it and gently swirled it in my hand to get it going but it would stop after about 5 seconds. I did this about 4 times and now I can't get it to start ticking. I tried winding slowly clockwise, it clicks but the crown seems to snap back when winding.

Any suggestions? Im not sure if I need to send it back.

It's not an auto mmm. You have to fully wind it.

PAMs don't wind much with a single spin of the crown because that big ol' crown guard gets in the way. Probably 60-100 winds to fully wind it. Don't be affraid.

Sure. Maybe need to swap the cannon pin, but that's not hard.

That's a lower beat rate movement than the Asian, but 6497-2s are hard to find and expensive.

It's normal for a low quality saphire. You wont see this in a Big Matt or gen crystal.

I have a DSN that was ARd by chief. It's a very nice crystal, but it is slightly pink. I want a really nice white sapphire crystal to send to chief.

Count me in for 1 or 2 depending on price.

I ordered mine from Andrew on 1/29 and haven't received QC pix yet. I'm getting anxious.

So I stripped the AR from the 111J crystal and it looked pretty damn good...until it was in direct sun light. The crystal doesn't seem to be crystal clear when the sun is hitting it at certain angles. It looks kind of foggy ...almost like there are tiny bubbles in the crystal. I've never seen this before on other crystals. Is that normal and I've just never seen it?
