  1. I ordered from the site with paypal, but have not yet received an invoice. Anyone familiar with the process? Is it coming?

Me too TK. I ordered a 111J the same way and the invoice came from a watch part shop. It came right away. I'm guessing since it's CNY, we'll get our invoices after 2/9, or maybe sooner, but I know business is pretty much shutdown 'til then. I think our place in line is firm...at least I hope it is.

  2. Upon closer inspection, I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with the finish of my 111j. I'll follow this up with some quick pix later this evening (I hope), but the CG is overworked to the point that's the curved top surface is notably different on the bottom half as compared to the top half.

Also, the awesome case is pretty much ruined aesthetically by the fact that the upper left and lower right lugs have rather significant tool marks on the inside of the lugs that show as indention when viewed from the top just before the lug meets the case. I'm guessing that not all cases will have this issue because I have seen this same thing on at least one of the 7 or 8 older 111 cases I've had in the past, but most were fine.

The dial and movement are still impressing me though. Case back is very nice too! If bezels are interchangeable with older cartel 111 cases, I may swap the bezel and caseback to an older case.

  3. It's here. I approved the QC pics on 1/18 and received the watch on 1/24. Great transaction with Andrew (as usual).

    First impressions:

They certainly have stepped up the quality and accuracy on the 111. CG looks great and fits nice and tight to the case. The lever is nice and tight and snaps closed. The one bad thing I did notice about the CG is that the lever is not finished as nicely as to rest of the CG. It's almost like it was a little too thick and sticking out from the CG body when closed, so the roughly removed some material and sanded it smooth, but it's not particularly even. I wish they would have left it alone and let me take it to it's final shape.

The crown is a little tricky to push back in after setting the time, but I can probably figure that out and fix it.

The dial is nice! At first glance, when compared to my Little Hero dial, the cutouts are very close and the print is very similar in color. The biggest difference is that the font is thinner on the 111J and the word PANERAI is a little lower on the dial. I'm not sure which is more accurate.

The canon pin is much better than older 111H reps, but it's either not quite high enough, or the minute hand needs to be set a little deeper.

I'll take some pictures during the week of both watches and post a review soon.

  4. Issaquah White Frog Ale!

I just picked up a bomber at my local Liquor Store in Colorado...Damn! This is good!

It's a very spicy beer brewed with coriander, sweet orange peel, chamomile, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.

The best Witbier I've had in a loooong time. This is what fruity Blue moon SHOULD taste like!

  5. Great looking strap Murph.....and I see a discreet 'beach shot' has crept in the background AGAIN.... :whistling:

LOL...yeah...That wasn't on purpose. I just have that picture on my desk at home. I did notice it though when I was going over the pix though, and cropped accordingly. :D

That Is one fine looking strap Murph, looks awesome on the Pam  How about a wrist shot using your beautiful model :)

    Hmmm...

  6. Another awesome strap from my favorite strap maker arrived today!

Member xlr8tn and his Cajon straps ROCK!

Sorry for the crappy pix. I'll take some of this strap and my others from him with my SLR soon and post them here.

    My latest:

This leather is AMAZING! I HIGHLY recommend these straps!

He has a different strap for sale right now in the "Straps and Bracelets" forum. ;)

  7. After several hours of attempting to create the caseback, I came to the conclusion that it was beyond me to do it using nothing but the original blueprint and Photoshop. I'm going to have to actually draw it, then scan it in and resize it to match this drawing, them clone stamp it into the blueprint. In the meantime, I decided to make an incorrect, generic caseback. Not close to 111H, but it'll still look good on my wall.

I'll post again when I get time to draw the correct caseback.

Until then, if anybody wants a full size version (6496 x 4611) of this one (shown in the first post in this thread), PM me with your email address and I'll send it.

    :drinks:
