  1. I think the dealers should cut you in on some additional profit they are now sure to get as a result of your blessing on this movement! Seriously though, this is my watch so I know it well. For this watch the full service from The Zigmeister is definitely worth getting done for piece of mind alone! Great to hear, this is one of the best looking reps available IMO and now the fact that they are made better than rumored will make many members feel better. I know individual experience will vary and I am sure some seconds @ 12 will still have issues, but overall this is a positive development. Cheers, M
  2. a great rep but since you asked for it Flaws AR or lack their of quality ar Date font color too red on rep Lume or lack their of Outer Rehault too deep Outer bezel functions exact as gen but inner bezel does not I belive the area around the date is not cut as well and the date is a little too sunken Just a few off top of my head I don't own this rep Your questions 1 bezel does not click have you ever held the gen? Cause it does not click either it moves silently in both directions 2 gen ar is only blue at certain angles but yes that is ar that you see 3 gen dial won't fit Cheiftangs ar is as good as breitlings
  3. Saw a watch on her site that I would like to purchase Any recent experiences out there?
  4. This bracelet is genuine! I have it in my hands, just received this morning. It is hard to tell in pictures, but the engraving is very deep and clear in all areas, the buckle with the wings on the top has absolutely no visible markings what so ever of a stamp depression on the backside, if a rep there is no way the front would be so deeply stamped and the back be perfect. The underside is completely polished in all areas. The only area not polished is the backside of the endlinks. The screwheads and backside of screwheads are flat not rounded. The 357A is etched/engraved on the backside, but it is less engraved than the serial #, and is on the same side as the serial number not the opposite side like the reps. The 357A is engraved on the endlink, same side as the C0507 Everything is very smooth and silky, you can just tell. I can try to get pictures of certain areas if you guys care or what to know more. Cheers, M
  5. I for one am very happy that it is a somewhat difficult/dauting task at first and also risky. I don't want every one wearing the great quality reps that I have. The first watch you order is a big financial risk, it is the only time in my life I sent off $300 of my own money to China for counterfeit goods. I figured I had a 50/50 chance of getting anything. Well it turns out I did get something and in fact the quality blew me away. Most people on this forum bought their first watch before finding any of these forums. I stumbled upon Josh's website months before I saw this or any other forum, I posted first on a forum when I was looking to buy my 2nd watch months later. If you are a Noob and have found the forum and are in research stage for your 1st watch, you really have to decide if you are willing to dive in. You can ask questions until you are blue in the face, you really won;t understand the answers until you have actually made your first purchase. Look at some pictures, read some posts and then choose a recommended dealer and order your first watch, Wait until after you have that before you start getting into technical discussions or this or that movement, shoudl I pay more to mod the watch, etc... I think you will be blown away by the quality and the replication and you will be back for more! Cheers, M
  6. You just made me add that bell and Ross model to my future buy list Your handy work is top notch as always Cheers, M
  7. Part of the enjoyment of this hobby is the excitement that comes with every purchase. Curious to hear others opinions on this, but I have some watches being modded right now and I can't tell you how anxious a feeling it is. I am not sure why, but it feels like the wait for mods to be done creates more excitement/anxiousness than waiting for a new watch to arrive. Not in a bad way, just different. Maybe it is becuase with a new watch, you have more of a time table and a tracking number - in most cases. I have only sent my watches out recently and the wait is already killing me. I am not going to be that guy and ask status updates I am just going to sit here and bite my nails to the bone awaiting my watches to be returned in a modded state. I keep checking the site often to see if my watch being modded may appear in a how-to post or worse, a beware of this happening type post!!! I have sent out watches before for mods, and I recall having the same feeling then. The wait for a new watch from a dealer or reseller does not have as intense a feeling of impateniece, or is it just me? I know the watches are in good hands so it is not a nervous feeling.
  8. Sorry did not read that in your post. A great idea to try on a gen before purchasing the rep to make sure you are happy with the look on your wrist. Of course, your AD likely will not have any Blacksteels in stock, but if the SS Skyland looks good than the Blacksteel will only look better! (limited edition of only 2500 and I believe they are all sold out) Cheers, M
  9. As mentioned the height/thickness of the skyland is just as important a factor to consider as the diameter. It wears bigger than other 44/45 MM watches. Check out the Skyland Blacksteel, same size but it looks much smaller on the wrist with the all black case that might be a better bet for you or of course a BCE is great for your size wrist slightly bigger than a Navi Cheers, M
  10. That makes me feel much better TedJed69 I appreciate the feedback. I have other Breitling rep bracelets, but sold my BCE rep bracelet so I did not one to compare. I am still not 100% convinced but now I feel much better! Thanks, M
  11. Ok, was sent this when I requested a side shot.
  12. Can anyone tell for certain based on these photos if this bracelet is gen or rep. BCE 22MM Pilot Bracelet Looks good to me but I wanted to make sure. Thanks, M
  13. Your crown is stuck? I guess? This watch has a screw in crown, so you should be able to counter clockwise turn the crown and then pull out to get to winding and setting positions. If you are unable to do that and the watch is brand new, I would ship it back to China. Cheers, M
  14. Wish I had sent my Blacksteel to you along with the other watches you are helping me with!!! Now, it will have to wait till my next go around. Great job, good to know you offer the painting of the hands as well as the lume. Cheers, M
  15. Just picked a new strap for my ap roo with bracelet I want to get a deployant clasp for the new strap but have not heard good things about the rep clasp that comes on the rubberclad Does anyone have any experience with the AP bands clasp or another clasp option? Or good experiences with the rep deployant
  16. Ok, my lack of skills has reached a new low. I can't seem to remove a Greg Steven's Crazy Horse strap buckle. Anyone out there have a trick or advise of something I might be missing. I am almost certain it is a screw in not sewn on buckle. It is his 1st generation. I am not expert on straps, buckles and the like but usually can handle this type of task. One side has a screw head the other looks like a pin end. Screwdriver turns the screw but does not move it, tried pushing the other side out and that does nothing. Love the strap and don't want to damage it but wanted to change to a PVD buckle. Maybe I stripped the screw somehow? Screwhead still looks OK. Any thoughts? I have just bought given up and plan on living with the silver buckle on my PVD watch.
  17. Looks great, love that dial detail and lume! Cheers, M
  18. I only buy a rep of something that it is a least conceivable that I might be able to afford. I would buy a rep of a 10K watch, but would not a 40K watch for example. Even though realistically/personally I do not think I would actually really ever spend more than $5K for a watch. There is slight exception for some special editions of AP or PAM watches where the perceived value is that of the basic model and not the special edition. I do not bother buying a rep of a watch under 3K new, I do not see the point. So the $4K - $10K gen range is my primary target for finding a good rep. Cheers, M
  19. Very cool and now you have a one of a kind rep. I have never seen a BCE with the UTC module rep or gen. Real conversation piece. Cheers, M
  20. there some bad info in this thread Just buy the rep bce already It is a great rep even with the unserviced 7750 asian movement you have an 75% chance it will work fine for a couple of years at least If you want more of a guarantee than go buy a gem watch I repeat some inaccurate info in this thread Cheers M
  21. Did you try shaking it? Automatics work based on movement. Firm but not too firm, look for the 12 oclock sudial to start moving and you are good to go. Crown if it does not push all the way back in, screw the rest of it in. Cheers, M
  22. BCE Swiss ETA = no, not for your price range. The movement alone costs $400 or so. What you need to realize is that 1 is a chronograph and the other is not. Chrono ETA costs alot more that is why you can't get an ETA at your price range. The chrono rep Asain movement works well and should give you a good 3 years of accurate time keeping. Both are quality constructed. Otherwise I think your expectations are well within range. As long as you get the new datefont version the BCE is almost as accurate as the SFSO, both are great reps and extremely accurate. Don't go showing an AD your new rep and you should be OK. Regardless of rep there will be flaws but both of these watches have few flaws. I think you answered your own question in that you definitely prefer the BCE to the SFSO. 1st thing to do is go to a Breitling AD and try both on, whichever you like the most is the one you should buy. Do not buy purely becuase of accuracy or you will have a great rep that you don't like. I have done that too many times and have learned my lesson. That said I would not trust the BCE or any chrono rep in the water, but you also said you like leather straps. Leather is typically not good in water either so the SFSO is definitely better for swimming but only on steel or rubber. BCE retails for double what the SFSO does, so if you are a starving student maybe the SFSO makes more sense. Other members here I am sure prefer the SFSO over the BCE. I prefer the BCE over SFSO, everyone taste is different, form your own opinion. They are much different looks: the BCE is polished and dressy / the SFSO is brushed and sportier. Shipping to Australia should be no problem. Research some more you will see numerous AU members here. Best of luck, M
  23. Recently: Breitling and Tag are equal in the amount of advertising they seem to do in the US. I see ads in most every magazine for Breiting and for Tag (Breitling ads are in almost every issue of Time, which I believe is the best selling magazine in the US) Breitling billboards are in all major cities. Every mall around me has a high end jewerly store that sells Breitling and Tag. There are advertisements for both brands throughout the mall interior. In the US they have made there Bentley line more exclusive by selling only in certain stores and only about 25% of Breitling dealers carry Bentley. This advertising is relatively new for Breitling. Both advertise more than Omega, I think most non-watch people I know do not think Omega is very expesnive believe it or not, I know worldwide this opinion is much different. 10 Years Ago, Movado was way above Breitling and probably on par with Tag in the US it was thought of as a luxury brand. Now I believe the perception is that they are dated. Also, Swiss Army you might be shocked but here in the US they are thought to be excellent watches by people that don't know watch brands. If you asked a non-watch person in the US for a top 10, I am confident Swiss Army would appear. Of course so would Seiko, Timex and others. To the non-watch crowd Rolex is and alwys will be king. Cheers, M
  24. I think it is 23MM, so that is kind of a wierd size. Not positive on the 23 measurement though. Watch at hme, me at work. Cheers, M
  25. Coating is holding up so far without any scratches. Time will tell I guess but I have not heard of any reported problems with the coating since the V2 model was launched. The case does manage to pick up more dust than SS cases do, anyone with a double AR watch crystal can attest, a cleaning cloth dialy is a neccesity so it is not a big deal. Cheers, M
