Sounds like he is trying to do the right thing and return the watches in the end. My added comment/speculation is that if he is the financial hardship I am envisioning he will only send a handful back a week as the tab at the PO won't be as bad that way. I would suggest keeping any emails to him to a minimum basis, emailing him daily will not help your cause IMO. Cheers, M

Always loved my Greg Stevens Crazy Horse strap on my Pams, but I have since sold them off and the V2 CH strap. Just picked up a V1 CH strap in 22MM and love the combo with the slate grey dial BCE. Just got the BCE from Takaksi, who did a great with a relume, glows like a torch. I think the brightness in the dark is actually brighter than the gen dial which is shown on the blue BCE below. Pictured along with a few other of my Breitlings with straps. The new V3 datewheel is fantastic BTW. Anyway let me know what you think of this combo! I also have a gen black croc strap but I think I will stick with this combo and sell the 22MM black croc strap and tang buckle.

Just had the Gen IIc, green milgauss and Deepsea in my hands
rogerthat replied to youpmelone's topic in The Rolex Area
Another member randomly found one on Ebay from a trusted seller in Singapore. It was an auction that ended around $350 from what I recall. After abandaning the project I took it over and hopefully will be sending it to a modder to see if it works soon. I will let you all know soon, have a gen crystal and AR cyclops too. Cheers, M -
rwg but welcome either way Cheers, M

This is probably the best comparison shot I can find. Up close you can tell the color difference if they are next to each other, but without one next to it I don't think you could or if you could you would need to be very close IMO. I am hoping the gen will fit or at least the gen insertcanbe made to fit. Cheers, M Closeup of number of gen bezel: -
WTB: Bentley 6.75 ASAP like this one! But from where?
rogerthat replied to chompawompa's topic in The Breitling Area
He may think you are stalking him Many of us mod our reps at great expense and time. Invest what you think is worth it for your own satisfaction. You can get 80% or so accurate for the $300 the rep will cost. If you want to get to 90% accurate may cost you another $600 for the next 10% if you get my drift. This is not worth it to most, but that is your own call. The last 10% is never obtainable and requires buying the gen. Realize those facts, do some research on the forum and don't PM any member unless it is very important! I don't recommend modding your first rep by the way. Maybe the 3rd after you have read and researching all that the forum has to over for a few month stretch. Cheers, M -

The gen is according to Rolex engraved out and then filled with white gold I believe. The rep is just engraved. I own a gen bezel and a rep watch, just not sure if the bezel or even the insert only will fit. The color is in fact different though, I have them 3 inches from each other. Cheers, M -
They definitely do not. Really can't go wrong with the movement choice though as I believe the gen is available in Quartz and Automatic versions. All of the gens I have seen the small size is Quartz and the large size is Auto, I think both sizes are available in both versions though. The GMT version would have to Auto without a doubt. Cheers, M

Wife has the large white (auto GMT) and the small black (Quartz) ; her favorite is the large white. She wants the large black next but I am not sure if the large black will look too manly. In my opinion though I am not sure if the large black is too manly for my wife, but I know it is definitely too femanine for me. I would never wear one. Cheers, M

db1 I am telling you take out your crystal and send it to Cheiftang, you will thank me later. I have owned the GT 1st model: no AR and the GT racing: single AR The AR sucks ; even on the racing model! I upgraded to Cheif's first double coating awhile back and that was a big upgrade over the GT racing single sided. The comparison to the Single AR to Cheif's newest coating is immeasurable. Cheers, M

AP ROO SS bracelet experts needed
rogerthat replied to 20000loft's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Bracelet is of fantastic quality IMO. Weight and build quality are as nice as any rep bracelet I have ever seen. I have all of the rep Breitling bracelets which are widely considered the best rep bracelets and this AP ROO bracelet is better than any of them. Two issues that are confusing you about what people have said or likely think: 1.) the bracelet is heavy and makes the watch wear much bigger than the straps. This is a large watch if you have smaller wrists it will likely look better on you than a strap, the strap without a doubt wears smaller on the wrist. 2.) the brushing technique is not exactly the same as on the gen. Side by side this could be noticed and that is why many users opt for a strap as well, with a gen or replacement strap the watch would look more gen like for this reason. Keep in mind the gen is a $20 K watch so to expect an exact bracelet copy is not realistic. I am not sure if anyone has attmepted to hand brush the bracelet to better match the gen appearance? That hardly means the bracelet is crap, I have heard a couple of people had issues with the clasp but mine works fine and I have never had a problem. I bought the a AP strap but decided I like the watch on a bracelet better and have since sold the strap and conversion kit. Cheers, M -
Icebang with brushed ceramic would be my guess. Could be PVD though can't tell really based on the picture. I like that better than the regular IceBang, All Hublot's have a sunken date wheel - Gens too though not as much as the rep Cheers, M

I would worry so much about the movement, it should be fine. If it has problems after the 1st week or so the dealer should replace the watch. If it lasts the first week plus it should last 2 years without issues. Follow the guides here to caring and using the movement and you will be all set, there are a at least a handful of useful guide posts on this forum. After 2 years you should get it serviced if you like the watch and want it to last for a long time, $200 is a standard figure though you may see higher as well. Service it every 6 years or so after that ; that is part of the expense if you don't want to commit to that just wear it until it dies and buy a new one then. You could find someone to service it by looking in the modder/repair section but why bother now. No modder/repair guy is going to want to talk to you about a job that may or may not happen 2 years from now. Just get the watch and enjoy it, hell of a watch for $300 Maybe you will get addicted enough after a year or two to request other mods as well as a service when the time comes; the following upgrades are available for this watch: relume of dial and hands (rep lume is poor on this watch, relume is much better but this watch does not need it necessarily) better quality double AR coat from Cheiftang (much better than the rep AR), gen straps, gen dials, gen bezels, ETA movement upgrade, etc... The first 90% can be purchased for that $300.00 the other 5% or so can cost a fortune but to some of us is worth it. Cheers, M

He does not always stock them, but the ebay seller id is: bcwatchparts He has some stuff listed right now

Thanks Lani, Bc Watchparts? Did you get yours? I am certain if you got a gen crystal I did too. Thanks, M

Don't have one yet, but saw a commercial for a cool APP that you activate and hold your IPhone nect to a stereo speaker when any radio is playing and it identifies the song playing and brings you to an Itunes page to purchase the song! Pretty Sick... not sure if that is an included app or an add-on. Cheers, M

Ebay is your best bet. Just kidding... seriously you need to stick around awhile and earn a reputation before anyone is going to send you money for an illicit product. Right now: you can't sell it 6 Months from Now: maybe you can Cheers, M

Just bought a gen crystal: 25-295-C1 on Ebay. Received it but I would like to be able to tell if it is indeed gen. Did come in a printed Rolex polybag but the sealing of the bag looks like something any one could do themselves with an inexpensive machine. I have a loupe in hand, shouldn't I see a faint crown etching in the 6 o'clock position under a loupe, cause I don't see anything? Please help; paid $200 for it and want to make sure I got what I paid for, M

http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=634 This would be my recommendation, any more bling than this would be out of control IMO. This as shown is likely 75 grand or so on retail how much more of a watch do you want to pull off. Plus these are CZ not diamonds on any rep so I prefer to limit my exposure to them. Cheers, M

Here is a picture of mine with Cheiftang double AR, notice how the crystal just disappears. Even on the white dial it is a major upgrade. Cheers, M

A potential solution to the United States mortgage crisis
rogerthat replied to Nightstroker's topic in The looney bin
I completely agree with everything you said, I just choose to have a more optimistic point of view on things. While all economies may be better long term by following your advise, the short term loss will be so painful that I just don't see it ever happening. Cheers, M -

I thought the exclusion was a one time deal? Thanks for the lesson I have alot to learn about tax laws I guess, you can use that exception every 2 years? Cheers, M -

Cheiftang, I am actually very encouraged by the American dollar increasing in value as an American. It may not last, but does it not prove that all the talk of the rest of the world not needing America and China & India becoming the next superpowers is hogwash. It is still true that if America catches a cold the rest of the world catches the flu. I think the dollar increase proves this, China looks worse than us right now economically as a result of the recent downturn. Without American spending other countries will fall and thus the world will do whatever they can so America remains strong. Maybe I am just a naive American, I don't really know. Cheers, M
