GMTIIC from Andrew- wore it swimming all weekend!
rogerthat replied to wombat247's topic in General Discussion
I have taken my Asian IHS for a dip with so far good results and will be in the pool a good deal next week. My crystal was properly pressed backin evenly though before I did this, of course. Cheers, M -
Yes, chazz; important to realize that the watches you are talking and about 95% of the watches we all talk about are the same watch from the same factories. Josh/Andrew/Angus all are buying and selling the same watches. In most all cases none of these 3 have them in stock, you place an order they get one from the factory or have the factory ship it to directly without them ever seeing it. They don't have inventory in their basement if you will. So ask them questions, go to their sites get comfortable with one and if you will buy a few a year use 1 dealer, you will likely get better service that way by being loyal. Important to have a relationship established if ever a customs problem or faulty watch problem arises. If you are going to buy 12 reps or more in a year, I would spread the wealth and try them all. Angus = Puretime Josh = Perfect Clones Andrew= Trusty Time weblinks and other info can be found very easily on this forum. Cheers, M

My polished ceramic bezel looks like glass, has no scratches and I wear it all the time. I have version 1 (push down crown)maybe 2nd factory version does notuse the real deal bezels. A member here(sorry, can't remember who) attempted toscratch thebacksideof his ceramic bezel with ascrewdriver blade and determined it was impossible to scratch, that was also a version 1. If nothing else Angus will sellseperately the brushed ceramic bezelon its own if you want to upgrade. Cheers, M

This is my Cousteau 2006, but it basically the same lume if professionally done right. Cheers, M Lume as seen through mirror Sorry for the shakes...

I can't pull off the bling personally, but it sure does look like a million bucks. I do love that dial though, nice watch! Cheers, M

Thanks Taka, I knew you would be the man to best answer this question. I don't they will ever rep this bracelet, which is a shame. Cheers, M

I was always under the impression that the Slevin bracelet would not fit on the Cousteau models but hopong someone can confirm this that owns both. I saw a listing somewhere in my travels that said the gen bracelet will fit all aquatimer models including limited edition chrono versions? I now the face is large on the Cousteau than the slevin (44 MM vs. 42 MM) but how about the lugs where the bracelet would go? Anyone know if I could fit the rep slevin bracelet on my Cousteau? Cheers, M

Angus sells them and the screws, maybe best to buy another watch at the same time though... DVN.. wish I saw your post earlier, I am in MA and have the H screwdriver. I have changed my Ice Bang Lite and Polished Ceramic Ultimate bezels a handful of times. Straps too. Let me know if that does not work out and maybe we can meet somewhere. Cheers, M quote name='indyberetta' date='Jun 18 2008, 06:02 AM' post='471081'] Where can somebody buy one of the screw drivers?

A7750 in my new Ice Bang stops on the winder
rogerthat replied to doc savage's topic in Movement Q&A
My winder sucks, but I have the same problem with multiple A7750 movements. Not a big deal to mean I don't use the winder and keep emin a watch box and set the timewhen I am ready to wear. Have too many watches for my 2 watch winder anyway. I would not consider your issue a "returnable"issue, just my $.02 If itstops on your wrist that would be different. Cheers, M -
Would love to see the Modern version repped properly, definitely would buy. Cheers, M

I like the Concord, interested to see if they come out with multiple dial choices, or just this 1. Depending on price I think I would buy 1. Cheers, M

The Zigmeister, Definitelytake some time, enjoy the nice weather and come back soon, you will be drawn back, rep watch forums are like crack. By the way, I never formerly thanked you; you took care of about 5 watches for me a couple of months ago and the work was top notch, and highly skilled. All are still ticking and looking pretty. I could not be more appreciative and will definitely need your services again sooner than later. A couple of bad apples can spoil it for you, but I think there are more good members than bad on this forum that do value your time and contributions you make to the forum. Cheers, M

Nice strap, gen worth the extra $$$, but think you should look for a 24/20 version for the SHO. Cheers, M

Just voted for ya, Steve Good luck, you are still in the lead. Cheers, M

I think for a bracelet sizing, you should find a mall kiosk type shop. They will be nice and charge a very small fee. Some watch bracelets are easy others area pain in the ass, I have done all mine myself with the exception of the wife Ceramic Chanel, whivh I didn't want to touch. Sounds like the watchsmiths you talked to didn't care to take on such a simple job and when you asked about price it got them mad becuase if they did it it would as a favor and they would likely not charge or be a $10 charge. Don't mean to take their side, and I am not saying that is a good attitude to have just pointing out that they don't make any money resizing bracelets and if they really are a trained watchsmith would want to work on more complex type repairs. That said any watch repair place probably makes more money changing quartz batteries than any other task. Would you be mad if The Zigmeister didn't answer your PM or email about resizing a bracelet... Cheers, M

Just got an Ice Bang Lite from Angus, already have an ultimate version. 1 of the screws on the caseback is cracked. Otherwise I am happy with the watch, would you email Angus and ask to send me a screw, does not seem very reasonable to me unless I was ordering another watch at the same time. Shipping from China obviously would cost much more than a screw. Plus I am not sure if I can take the screw out honestly it is stuck good. Anyone know if this is a standard screw I could source elsewhere? Or anyone have an extra by chance? I am not talking about the H screws, but the flat screws on the caseback. Of course I have extra H screws. Cheers, M

Superocean Heritage - loose bezel?
rogerthat replied to professor_yaffle1's topic in The Breitling Area
I took out my crystal today and hope to see a difference with new Cheiftang AR on this watch. While the AR is good on this watch, it is too blue , almost like they are applying AR but also a blue hue which is too strong. Maybe it is just me but it looks strange with the black dial. Hope to post pics once complete, already have it on a gen black croc (so much better . stiffer than the plasticy feeling rep croc strap). I agree lume on this rep is quite good for a rep,not positive if lume color is 100% accurate but personally I would not pay for a relume on this. Think the bezel could be a little tighter, seems a little too easy to move. Add me to the group that would buy an Ocean Racer deployant strap in a heartbeat if available, butI have said the same thing about an HBB bracelet and IWC CD bracelet for a longtime and that has gotten me nowhere. Cheers, M -
Fantastic collection, I have very similar tastes. Which are showing factory AR vs. aftermarket (Cheif,Jacob,etc..)??? Cheers, M
