  1. There aren't any GMT II reps that I know of that will take a gen insert without some sanding to the insert necessary.

And other than the BK Transformer of "yester-year" I'n not aware of any GMT II reps that even have a gen constructed bezel assembly.

(of course, the Transformer didn't either, actually but the tension wire affixed bezel did afford easy removal of it...hence...Transformer)

I'm not an expert by any means but there are tutorials that refer to using a blow-dryer to heat the insert up (and soften the glue) for removal.

Which version of GMT II are you working on and perhaps you'd know where it originated.??

The Noob bezels (on both the GMT II's and 16610's) seem to be quite a chore to rfemove/replace without bezel damage...but it's been done.

NOTE: There does seem to have been a GMT II rep available at one time with gen constructed bezel.....that being the Discontinued Noob Factory GMT II

  2. It's actually Perfect Clones- Joshua's website. The watch is just a typical chinese rep, so don't get too excited. I'd stick with the 2836-2 for now unless you're adventurous (and have a watchmaker to fix the movement for you). You'll spend more with BK or TC upfront, but less in the long run because you'll have a quality piece.

+1...starting at the top will save you alot of money in the long run....go with BK and be done with it.

  3. Whatever it is BK still gets my money.

If tc can get these cases, bk will eventually also get these cases and with bk, you have integrity, talent, and he fixes the nitty gritty details.

He has been in the sub game so long and has given us tonnes of very very good subs and the only way he is going to stop is if he doesnt want to help us getting what we want.

Whats wrong with the profit he makes? He has a market and the market wants more of his watches. He makes custom made subs. No one else makes custom made subs and has the experience BK has.

If you want a normal sub, go to the dealers, if you want a regulated, water resistant, detailed sub then BK is your man.

    Exactly. Very well stated, sir.

If anything is available, BK can (and most likely will) get it.

And even with all the workload BK surely has on his table, he understands the value and importance of good communication.

From the BK/WM9 v2, to the v3, to the TW, I myself coudn't be happier.

(except for the case engraving errors between the lugs on the latest TW..... which to me the "very acceptable" SEL fit more than makes up for that.)

Of course we all knew the "perfect 1:1" Sub rep was inevitable and was bound to come sooner or later.

It would appear that time is nearing.

    GREAT work BK and TC.

    Let's get 'em available asap.

TC....hope I don't appear to be crapping or hi-jacking here. Totally not my intension in the least.

  5. Heys guys:

I could use some advise and opinions on building a 16710...or 16750 but I sorta wanted to go with lug holes and a gen Jubi.

Finding a discontinued Noob Factory GMT II seems next to impossible.

I've owned the BK Transformer but the tension wire affixed, non-clicking bi-directional bezel didn't do it for me.

I'm waiting for the crystal ring dimensions of the newest Exp.II offered by "Cartel"...perhaps it can be converted like the Noob cased Exp.II can be.

(and I've dropped a gen crystal, bezel, crown and tube into my BK Noob Exp.II...so I'm not wanting to do an irreversible conversion on it.

Does anyone know of a good case (prefer lug holes) to base a build on ?

I'd like to use a gen Swiss T 25 16710 dial in it.

Any shared knowledge, advise, opinions and direction on this is greatly appreciated.

  6. I've used him before myself....and my stuff was always legit. But he does have family members involved in the business as he more than a few online retail sites.

Nowadays, who really know why some of these "power-sellers" do what they do.

I've certainly seen my share of top rated ebays sellers that use their impressive feedback ratings to pass along junk to the unsuspecting consumer.

  7. Group buy???? Are you sure??? After all that in the past???

TC, you dont know what you have started!!! Your sitting on a golden egg here!!! Now the ball is with you, play safe and smart, deliver in time and you will be a millioner in 6monthes :)

And i guess just put BK out of the sub game fir sure!

These are indeed remarkable...to say the least....

But "put BK out of the Sub game"...well...that's not gonna happen. (unless BK himself simply "wants" out.)

As it stands, BK is proven.

Not to say TC won't be...just sayin'.

  8. Nice collection, l have a question, whats the diff between a 2836-2 movement and the 2892-2? Do the hands adjust correctly on that like the gen?

    AWESOME collection !!!!

    The 2836-2 is a 25j, 28,800 mvt.

The 2892-2 is a 21j, 28,800 mvt. that is used in many models of gen watches.

There only difference in the way they're set is in the quick set date...2836-2 turns CW to advance...2892-2 turns CCW to advance.

If you're referring to the GMT complication...the 2836-2 is available with that...the 2892-2 isn't...but then there's the 2893-2. (which is still an ICHS when comared to the 3185/3186 mvts.

  9. Rehaut engraving....yes...that's a deal breaker for me.

It seems the factories haven't ever got it right (though the Milgauss is close) but this engraving looks much too deep to remove.

Once removed the risk of the dial not fitting becomes an issue.

It would help to know the ID of the rehaut and the OD's of the dial and crystal.

Removing too much of the rehaut (and that engraving looks "very" deep to me) cxan affect both dial and crystal seating surfaces.

I've owned both the WM9 v2 and v3 versions...the v2 was always my favorite but at that time I wasn't aware of the hand size difference.

The 2678 with that brass adaptor ring certainly does eliminate any rotor/winding noise...at least it did on mine.

This case takes a gen Cal.3135 leaving the crown position exactly per gen.

Will the 2678 adaptor leave it at the same height as well ??

  10. very nice TC. youre making me think crazy thoughts... like just sucking it up and getting that engraved rehaut V serial. ARRRGH

+1...if I wasn't fairly certain the engraving on the rehaut was too deep to remove and not affect the seating of the dial I believe I would suck it up and jump.

  11. Well, I certainly tried. He won't be "back in business" (parts-wise) for another 45 days or so but was able to point me to yet another supplier.

The LEC on gen crystals are indeed laser etched "dots". The OEM originals will have an empty head hole, whereas the Service crystals will have the sideways "S" in the head hole.

Same crystal, just Rolexs' way of doing things.

Look forward to seeing pics of the Franken.

As for the spring from Gary...I've always found it to have a tighter feel to it.

While the Noob offers a hollow center link bracelet, I must say I don't mind the solid center of the TW. I like the feel of the little added weight.

Enjoy it, Brother...and do keep us posted.

  12. Congrats.

Good score. To me the "S"ervice crystal adds a bit of character to the watch (not that it can be seen without a loupe).

I also prefer the Flat 4 insert and sent BK one to install on mine. (though mine is luminova and glows)

You're really gonna like the look of the TW with the gen crystal, insert, crown and tube.

If pbdad is too busy, perhaps try "rsh" or darthAlex"..they're both very good at that sort of thing.

I lucked out and found a few OEM non-service crystals and dropped one of them in the TW.

(aside from the LEC, the TW ctystal looks really good...but of course there's nothing like the gen.)

The gen crown and tube look great too. ENJOY.

  13. As the senior attorney on the thread (at least as far as forum membership) I will add the following

    1. The board encourages the reporting of all counterfeit items to eBay. Once upon a smaller simpler board, we had a regular group of guys who registered new eBay profiles and actually purposely outbid items to save unknowing buyers then report Them to eBay.

    2. I'm not suggesting that you would, but this seems a good opportunity to note for anyone reading. Under no circumstances are you to use paypal to settle a claim with a dealer or member. We. Want no Unnecessary attention and will be severely frowned upon. Always bring internal matters here, if you are unable to resolve independently.

    3. While reasonable reliance may apply, there are several "tells" on this post which are worth pointing out for any new members who happen to wander through.

    A. Small photos. - if your selling items of significant value on eBay then you better figure out how to take large photos. My phone takes better photos than this.

    B. He doesn't say genuine rolex. Especially with rolex, but almost always with brand items you will see genuine Or OEM. Especially with rolex because, even when your wearing a real rolex your just as likely to be asked "if it's real" its the most pirated brand ever.

    C. Lawyer trick -cleverly parsed truth designed to convey a message that is not actually stated. " The clasp is stamped Registered Swiss Made, the Rolex Coronet, Steelinox, 93150, and date code S"

He doesn't say swiss made. He says the clasp is stamped. Stupid move on his part. Does he really think he will win a paypal dispute because he correctly labeled counterfeit goods. He may as well label it gen.

if you were looking for a bracelet, I would recommend asking here. Many members have gen stuff, and many of us are or know jewelers that could supply one at a good price. If your ever unsure or your spidy sense is tingling check here first.

Mike was making the suggestion as part of the learning process as all of us have had or been had on some transaction. Nature of the buis. And in most circumstances that would be the case. It's so infrequently that someone we help is in your situation and has paypal as an option, that our thoughts immediately went to past experience.

The good news for you and the bad news for many of us with paypal is. Paypal bends over backwards to undue transactions in favor of the buyer. Even if they can't recover the cash. Someone recently scammed me after purchasing my iPhone. Paypal could give a sh!t what I had to say, and refunded his $$ and I am refusing to pay paypal. So getting your $$ back should be as easy as giving paypal a tracking numbe for your return package.

I wish you the best of luck with your collecting travels. And - are you hiring? I need a job :)

You got "that" right. I sold a genuine watch on eBay a few years back. The buyer screamed it wasn't genuine. I'm the one that escalated it to a claim. The buyer provided a tracking number for the return of the watch (while in the meantime I was gathering up service papers and watch appraisal papers from the local Breitling AD that had recently done the mvt. service on it) and as soon as that return tracking info hit paypal, they immediately (against my advice) refunded the buyer his payment. I was lucky enough to cancel the withdrawl request at the bank before some fake-azz POS watch was returned to me. Paypal attempted once again to withdraw the refund from my bank acct. and I had to cancel all cards and that banking acct associated with the paypal acct. to prevent a substantial loss. They refunded the buyer...regardless of the proof I furnished but they didn't get the refund from me. That's the primary reason I no longer have an active paypal acct. Protecting the buyer can, of course, be a good thing...but not always. The buyer knew what he was doing. And it's a typical scam. But up a few reps, shell out the premium price for the gens you want and then scream fake, get your money back from pp (and a free high dollar watch) for nothing more than the time involved and the cost of some POS Canal Street bargain junk.

  14. This is the watch prior to any modding..you can see the 'stick' or 'error' dial in the watch..

    On a matching Nato strap.

    img0461lx.jpg

Thanks yet again. I hadn't noticed that about mine but you are, of course, right again.

I've noticed the "Rolex" on the 11 error dial to be not as white and a bit too wide but hadn't noticed the 11 as opposed to the ii...until now.
