  1. Hey Guys:

This started over a year ago when I acquired a gen. F series Exp.II case set.

It was meant to be cleaned up/polished and sold for a bit of a profit but I've got it in my head to build an Exp.II gen myself.

Since then, I've managed to source and acquire everything needed for this build........except the mvt.

It seems the Cal.3185 is a bit more difficult to find than I'd thought it to be. (and it seems it doesn't offer the quick-set date function)

    So now it's down to making a choice...continue searching for a Cal.3185 or go with a Cal.3175

    My questions are these:

Are the 3185 and 3175 the same size ??

Are they same regarding dial feet mounting position??

Will the 3175 accept the 3185 hand set??

Is the 3175 as good and reliable as the reviews indicate the 3185 to be??

Would the 3175 be an acceptable option for an Exp.II ??

While it may have made more sense (and possibly been a bit cheaper) to simply go buy a good preowned 16570, it wouldn't have been near as much fun

and it's also easier for me to absorb the cost little by little as opposed to dropping the 4100.00 + these run on the market.

Many can say they own a gen of this or that and many can say they have a Franken of this or that.

But how many can say (or know of anyone that can) that they build their gen basically from the ground up.

I just thought it would be cool to be able to say I put this together myself.

All knowledge/information/opinions are very much welcome here.

  2. Many Breitlings have appealed to me but I've never went after them due to their size.

At 39mm this one fits my preferrence for size.

How acurrate (or not) does this look to those who know their Breitlings. Thanks for the input guys.

I know this isn't a TD on any of the primary forums but it's the only one of it's kind I've found to be offered anywhere.

  3. Are any of our members here special ops? If so wanna do us all a favor!?!

Special ops....lol...that would be one way to go about it

But I'd say a skilled hacker could have some fun with this clown and dose him out a taste of his serving. :bangin:

This dude has titanium balls to be posting such things on his site.

  4. Not sure how this guy isa still brething......

If you attempt to commit first party credit card fraud, I will make it my personal hobby to damage your personal life and reputation to the extent of my abilities. Considering that I have all of your personal information on file, the possibilities are almost limitless. For example, one fraudster recently found that a website had been opened in his name, trading photos of under-aged boys. Do you know how hard it is to have a website taken down? It's almost impossible. Even if taken down, it will be reopened in less than 24 hours on a new server. Think twice before trying to commit fraud.

  5. Anyone any idea where to get these 2 gen parts, theres lots of posts with people doing this but no one ever discloses where to buy and how much! Do I have to sign the official secrets act before finding this information out? :p

No signature required...just ask around :) (hint)

The crystal was 250 brand new and it's a service crystal the insert was 200 but I over paid for that and had to relume the pearl then ended up getting a whole new insert with pointy four and stock SL pearl. Pm me as I do have an extra insert with out a pearl. (gen pearls can be found fairly easy)

Looks great Brother ! Congrats on it finally arriving back :)

IMO you didn't overpay for either the crystal or the insert.

That little sideways S in the LEC hole (which can't be seen without magnifiction anyway and even then is difficult to spot) doesn't make the crystal any less of a gen,

Besides...those are what gen owners receive from RSC if the crystal is ever changed by them. I can get them both....no difference with the naked eye or in the price :)

  6. If you'd have asked that question 90 days ago the answer would likely have been closer to 600.00 or so stock.

The arrival of the TC V series 16610 ( WM9 v4) and his M series (basically a WM9 v2) seemed to have caused the market prices of the WM9's to plummet.

    But congrats on the find.

I know that made your day :)
