  1. Thanks for the info Brother.

    Still undecided.

The gen T116's aren't real expensive.

I just don't know if this case will accept a gen plexi.

The gen 2.7mm gasket on this sapphire fit the case groove nicely.

I actually felt the bezel grab the gasket a bit when pressing it on.

But as easily and quickly as I destroyed the 116 plexi that was on it, I'd be pist to do the same to a gen. :(

And I don't know if this version is acurrate enough to be dropping alot of fundage into..

  2. I picked this up from member chrgod and I like it.

I've always liked the 1655's with the exception of the tall T116 plexi.

Well, the crystal felt loose to me when it arrived and I cracked it trying to reset it.

    No biggie....I'll just drop a gen 295-C in it..........NOPE.

DW is in eta position...so I pulled the cyclop from a 2mm TW crystal and centered a gen cyclop.

It'll do for now but no doubt this watch looks it's best with the 116.

    My thoughts....

sapphire 116 conversion ( I'm afraid I wear my watches too "hard" for a plastic crystal)

    correct DWO with open 6/9's

better fitting (and correct) end pieces

maybe a SL job to the dial/hands.

    Your thoughts....?

  3. Excuse me....I'm new.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the best looking rep Submariner ?

I want one that'll pass for a gen so all my buddies will look up to me with envy.

I don't want anyone to be able to tell it's a fake...especially my gf's dads brothers sons next door neighbor.

Cuz he owns a real one and I don't wanna piss my mom off.

Please point me in the right direction.

I've got 68.00 in my pp acct and I'm "ready" to step up to the plate.

  4. Well, my first post here in this forum. Many thanks to all and this big effort to convert and upload the file. Just downloaded it, it's really great!

    Real watch porn!

    Cheers

    Andi:

    Welcome to the Forum.

Best Community full of great people you're gonna find.

Hang on brother....and enjoy the ride.

WARNING: this Forum may be habit forming :)

  5. Holy shyt !!! :)

    I missed all of this ?? :(

Great work and collaboration on all involved in making this happen.

I'm getting the same "temporarily disabled" messege with the link. :(

Could someone help me out when this becomes available again ??

    I really appreciate it.

  6. Does anyone have instruction or picture to help me remove the dial and hands.. I am a total newbie.

could I just pull the dial off ?

Your willingness to post up on removing hands and dials is commendable.

However....I'm not sure I'd use a WM9, TC or any other high quality rep to practice and learn on. :)

As for the WM9 v3 accepting a gen 3135...I believe I've read somewhere that it will but don't quote me on that.

    I've never tried it.

  7. Best to keep the retainer and bezel ring together when possible.

I've tried the fit of just about every bezel ring imaginable and haven't ever had any success with an acceptable fit to the gen retainer.

Seems the only bezel ring that'll fit a gen retaining is a gen.

I've never really understood "why" they can't use the correct gen size specs when tooling the retaing ring and bezel ring.

They've managed to get the bezel ring measurements right to fit the gen crystal and accept a gen insert...so what's the problem??

    Am I missing something ??

  8. I have to wonder "why" you'd even feel the need to blow dry it ??

Wash it off, the dry it with a towel.

Nanuq....you didn't say the "stove" drying method was for gens or reps.

I'd like to try this with the gen 3035 build...it looks pretty safe to me....how long do I leave it on the fire ??
