Yep, easily done so it's not really an issue. I bought one off a guy that certainly never regulated it since he bought it in 2009. Runs +13. Should be able to get it closer to +5 I would hope.

I think a lot of you are taking that article a little too seriously. It's a sarcastic piece. The author had a bit of fun and his last jab was picking an affordable good quality watch that is high end in all but snob-name-brand factor.

I discovered that course earlier tonight and I too am buying a watch tomorrow. Looking at the military 5. I did some reading around the net and I'm pretty impressed with the 7S26 movement. Sounds like a winner to me. But I do understand why many would dismiss it. Good luck with you project.

This morning I went to regulate this old Russian Raketa. I saw that the arm in red was pointing beyond the - + markings so I pushed it back towards the centre as a start. The arm circled in blue moved with it and the balance wheel stopped working. I pushed just the blue one back and it started working again after a shake. 1. What do you call the red arm? 2. What do you call the blue arm? 3. Should the blue arm move? 4. How much adjustment in seconds can one expect from say a 1mm movement of the red arm? I understand this is a very open ended question with many variables. I'm asking generally of course.

Total newb and I'll prove it. I usually wear a Citizen quartz. I purchased a 70's Mickey Mouse watch recently for shits and giggles. It has an extremely loud ticking. Many have noted how loud it is. I think it has slowly hypnotised me. I'm utterly addicted to the ticking. I have since purchased some cheap vintage Russian watches. One of them was running a bit fast some fancied myself as more than capable of adjusting it. First go I got the back open. For some reason I closed it. Second go saw me open it and then successfully stabbing it to death with furious vengeance. It was running fast after all! I was using some pointy tool. Totally shanked it in the guts, or hairsprinng if you will. I opened it a third time. This time I managed to stab myself and draw a fair amount of blood from a small pin [censored] hole. It was here I decided to buy some proper tools (thanks offshore). I have also purchased another cheap watch with the same movement (a really thin Russian 2209) with plans to eventually swap it. That will come after I get some practise in with some other movements that will have to suffer a painful death at my hands... for now, I am very happy to be here lurking in the background and learning from everyone.
