But I think you will end up with two Explorers II. Your watch will be released by the NYC customs. I had a watch and some other stuff at NYC customs for more than 2 weeks each.

Remember that Rollies arent supposed to be shipped to the USA. It doesnt matter if its gen or not. I once had a gen rolex sent to me that got held up in customs for two months. They sent it back to the seller. He took the band off it and said he was sending it to me as parts. which it flew right by customs.

Wow, I'm looking at my gen right now and except for the bezel marking being a little thicker on the rep. Its dead on !!!

I'm looking for a brown face rep that is either an available "super-rep" or a great rep "out of the box" with little to no need for modding.

I been considering

1) Brown SOHC - I cant really find one that looks close to gen

2) Navitimer - also can find one.

I not looking for a dress watch or a rolex. Please give me some directions / options.

Stay away from the DRSD. The gens go for $15K and up. You'd do better sticking with a 5513 which runs in the $4-5K for a gen. Much more plausible.

Keep reading about how to age these vintage reps, people are doing it all the time around here. Just keep searching and reading and welcome aboard.

I could pull of a $15k rep. But I never have simply due to the size of my collection. I would say away from watches that would generate too many questions about it. I mostly wear watches I enjoy for myself rep or gen.

I'm one of the new guys. Here I have a pretty decent collection of gen with all the usually gen brands - Omega, rolex, IWC, Sinn etc...

I brought a what I thought was a "homage" watch from one of the gen site. What I got was a modded DSN pre 001. I was hooked so. I started looking for other homages. I wonder how much money I could have saved if I found this place earlier.

I found repgeek - I knew that place wasnt for me.

I found RWG - This place reminds me of that old TV show cheers.

Anyway I've already made a few purchases since I got here.

1) Bk DSSD - That I sent directly to pbdad for some mods - I havent seen it yet !!!!

4) Josh - PloProf v2

5) Talking to concepta about putting together one of his 3717 - just need to decide which one.

Within a very short time here I've already dropped a bit of change.

I wish I knew how to get in touch with The Zigmeister or VAC to get one of them to do the lume and to regulate my incoming Ploprof.

So here is my wish list

1) BK LV - I know those are all already spoken for

2) PAM 26k

3) PAM 000 - once a really good one comes along

Wow, sound like a awesome project. I had my gen orange PO for about 2 years. I think I paid something like $1400 for it used. But the modding process just amazes me.It seems like the costs of parts and having someone to mod it would be more expensive than a used gen. I guess the hunt for parts and the thrill of having the watch customize to the owners spec is part of the process.

When I get home from work tonight I post a pic of my gen 500m for to see the difference

I have the gen PO. It is a stunning watch. Keep in mind a lot of wis take the ar off the watch by choice, so that maynot be such a big thing. Also If you'll going to get one you may thing twice about cause the prices seem to be moving up since he new PO ($5000) are just out of reach for a lot of people,

I "think" the going price for a 42 is around $2000 on a strap and $2400 on a bracelet.

Also the watch I had to have 12 months ago have since be either sold, trade or just doesn't get wrist time.
